  • Can I use McDonald's stress kind instead?

  • cant even see what you're doing

  • where do u get long straws like that pleas respond

  • @jonah286 You can get them from asian craft stores like Morning Glory. I'm pretty sure some arts and crafts stores should have it too. Some ppl get it on Ebay as well.

  • comment

  • hahaha you can use ordinary straws.

  • are they real straws?

  • ohhh i make these stars too but i can't find any of those straws where i'm from so i use curling ribbon instead lol

  • I can't seem to fold the straws around the star. They keep popping out ..

  • im sooo into lucky stars but these are awesome too!!! :D

  • i know a place where they seel those straws its called house warehouse its in san leandro 94579.and they seel it for 99 cents diffrent colors

  • omg where did you get these long straws?mine are toooo small!!!:P

  • hey uhh could u use a regular straw?? cause i have lots of em

  • @blazemiller4 that might be a little hard since it'll be difficult to wrap the five points of the star

  • @blazemiller4

I tried it before! They are a bit stiffer compared to the other straws but it's doable. Just a warning though: they don't look as nice lol

  • can you use normal straw?

  • which morning glory ?:D

  • haha.....raccoon in the background

  • that is THE longest straw i hav ever saw in my life

  • hey i am using the same mouse as you

  • holy s*** my straws are 3 times smaller :(

  • just join some straws it may work :)

  • if 1000 stars = love always what does 1million stars mean?

  • i have no life

  • @LancerVX one and only one ..

  • holy o.o.. paper stars are so much more pratical. haha. and takes a fraction of the time..

  • Then again, straw stars are 10x prettier and in my opinion, 2x more thoughtful ^^

  • @faeriedustgrl I've made a tutorial on straw stars, made with paper. its may be easier since its not as hard to press/fold (I've put it in the vid responses)

  • @faeriedustgrl Yes agree with you that paper stars are much more pratical than these straw stars. However, in my own opinion, I think these straw stars look a lot nicer. :P

  • i've looked everywhere online 4 these non-flexible, colored, long straws, but i honestly cant find them anywhere! T_T

do u know where i might find some?

  • Any asian arts/craft store. I found mine at Morning Glory. They are also available online or through ebay. =D

  • @kai1222

  • @lacvivi1 sssss rrrr eeee

  • thanks!!!!

  • You're welcome!

  • :DD

  • i didnt really understand what exactly you done

  • well..you basically:

    1. Flatten the straw first

2.Fold it in half & unfold it

    3.Make tht 'L' shape

4.Take the 2 long parts of the straw & fold it over the middle part only once, srta as if youre makin a catapiller.

    5.Fold over the whole triangle part (0:40 - 0:45)

6.Now fold over those ends abt 5 more times (rmr to fold the triangles over too!)

7.Srta weave the ends of the straw like in the vid. Tuck the ends in.

Bleh..its hard to explain how to do it. Better to learn it in person..

  • thank you for the explanation!

  • no problem ;D

  • do you think u can have a speacial slow motion of what you did on 0:46-0:48

  • Flip it over.

  • nice job =)

  • thanks!

  • 5 stars[:

hey, where do yooh get the strraws?

cause i got some but there was only blue, white, red, purple, and yellow in the box.

    they're so plain and ugly.

  • Maybe you should double them up. you get a really cool affect from it.

so instead of folding one straw per star, fold two straws per star.

  • i wanna learn how to make that but this didnt really help your hand was blocking it. but maybe you should give instructions while you make it

  • TOOOOOO PRROOO

  • Aww, what a cute plushie.. I mean, that video was awesome. Say, where do you buy those long straws anyways? x]

  • thank you for posting this video!it really helped me!

  • woah thats a long straw?

  • cannot see a thing ur hand is pressing that

  • i made a second video that should be clearer.

  • is that you whos is doing it?

  • yes.

  • is anyone from london knows where to get the straws from...?chinatown used to sell them but have stopped..anyone know shops or online...?

  • iono if yooh have morning glory out there?

it's like an asian stationary store.

any asian stationary store could have it.

  • does it have to be straw stars for it to mean something?

  • no, it just looks better. :]

  • could you please slow down a bit & explain as u fold ? it seems pretty hard but I really wanna know how ~.~

  • 11 stars-Never forget you

    18 stars-Happiness always

    66 stars-Remembering you

    100 stars-Only you

    800 stars-Unlimited memories

    1000 stars-Love always

can you still have these things if you make a different star?

  • agh thanks you soo much!. i looked at a written explanation and i pretty much looked like this --> o_O. with your video, i got it in one try. grazi!

  • congrats! no problem! :)

  • haha thanks!

  • i cant really see whats going on :[

  • did u see my second video? that one is much clearer.

  • ok....umm not tooo helpful. not being mean but its too far away. words would help. like explaining....

  • i've made a new video. can you see if that one is clearer?

  • weel i thiught it was great...i love folding stuff and i´m really into origami so i thought this was a pretty gfodd video, even with your fingers on the way..=)thank you

  • aww thank you!

  • hey thanks for the video, i was wondering how long does the staw needs to be?

  • i duno how to do!!! so complicated... maybe u should try to show us which straw u put whr tis straw put whr, u kno..? i wasted 2 straws doing it ):

  • so sorry..i'll be making a better video next week.

  • I would love it if you were to make a new video where your hand isnt block the main step.

  • i'm sorry..i will definitely be making another video next week. it is very hard trying not to block the steps because the straw is so small/thin.

  • you can try using the bigger straws to do it. since they are easier to do.

  • if you pull harder when you wrap the straw around the star and make it tighter, it'll look a LOT prettier...

  • yes, you can do that as well. i just make mine a little looser to show more of the layers :)

  • OMG that's so0o cute i luv it!!!!

  • yeah! glad you enjoy making them! :)

  • thats is sooo COOOL :]

    but its hard.

dudeee where can you get the long straws??

  • thanks!

you can find them at a local asian stationery/gift shop like Morning Glory.

  • It's amazing how you can do it in 3 minutes and 41 seconds. It takes me so long to get one done. My fingers so much afterwards.

  • hehe thank you! don't worry, take your time :) you can do it!

  • why's your straw so long ?

  • it's a special straw to make these kind of stars. (it needs to be long to make enough layers for good star).

  • how do you tick the straw through thatpart in the end so easily? It always takes me so long to get it in there.

  • yep, it is a little tricky to tuck in the last part sometimes, but try to get it in there at just the right angle and it should go through easily. practice makes perfect ;)

  • about how long does the straw have to be?

  • they're a little more than 16 in and quite different from regular straws. you can buy them at chinatown or craft stores that usually sell origami paper should have a pack of these straws.

  • sorry to say this, but could you make another one where you show how it looks like after each step? because your fingers are like blocking it ya know? i really want to make it and i can't do it. =[. its kinda hard to see wat ur donig witht eh stars becasue of ur fingers.

  • so sorry you couldn't see each step:( i'll try to make another video sometime..stay tuned!

  • i need help after making 6 triangles and sticking the 6th triangle into the 1st one. what do you do with the rest of the straw?

  • After that process, you should take turns folding the two straws up and down the sides of the star. So move straw that is already on the bottom, up and the straw that is on top, down. Now repeat this process using the straw that you just folded down, fold up, etc. Hope that wasn't too confusing..Good luck!

  • hey, i already know how to make one of these straw stars. you know how some people put them into jars and give it as a gift? i want to make black/white stars and make it look like a panda. have you seen any jars shaped like a panda before? i just checked the chinatown near me and couldnt find any.

  • That's a great idea to do them in black/white. I've seen jars in all kinds of shapes (heart, snoopy, round, etc.) but I haven't come across any with panda shapes..keep searching! There's got to be a panda one out there..Good luck!

  • DO anyone know on website i can buy like a bulk of straws. Like a thousands or more. Thx.

  • The best way would be to visit a nearest asian stationery/gift shop like Morning Glory. They're most likely found at Chinatown..

  • i live in Atlanta, and they have only 2 morning glory i know of, and both stores dont sell a lot of the straws. I wonder where i can order to buy like a bulk of them.

  • Yeah they sell them in small packs of ten to fifteen or so straws..I don't think they are sold in bulks though..I guess you would have to buy ten packs of those then..^^"

  • any ideas where tho? like online? none of the morning glory stores where i live don't sell those and there aren't any chinatown near me...

  • \,,/ LOL

    good work ^^

  • Thanks! ^^

  • When you first fold the "L" shape, the right is on top. After that, fold the top straw to the bottom and the right side to the left. Make a triangle and repeat until you have six triangles.

  • hey ummm when u first start the star what side is overlapping the other side?? like is the left on top or is the right on top?? on the first fold

  • This was way too hard for me. Is it possible to make this straw star the same way as paper stars?

  • that might make the star flat though..:(

  • sorry, i'll keep that in mind next time.

  • it's kind of hard to see what your doing

  • oo now i get the last part, thanks : ]

  • i wish u showed it more closer.

  • :( i couldnt do it

  • hehe cool. I just made one! thanks for showing us =)

  • Uhmm...that looked like a lot of work, but if you want a miniature star and you have good dexterity then go for it!

  • It's not a lot of work once you get the hang of folding it..you can make a number of these stars and put them in a glass jar. It makes a great display or a gift to a friend!
