It is kinda ironic that the Romulan (civil?) war happened. Because, as we know, Spock tried to save Romulus, and the entire galaxy, but when that supernova occured it destroyed all of Romulus, and Remii (or however it is spelled).
@NightwishRaven999 The Dominion had the largely successful tactic of ramming enemy vessels with their fighters and then firing with the Strike Cruisers and larger ships.
If you are talking about "bridge commander" Target ferengi vessels warp engines and disable them. That should do the trick. Its been while i've played it so might remember wrong though.
Loved the video but in no way should a galaxy class starship lose to a 90 year old bird of prey!!! I mean c'mon...it took down a freaking borg cube...it can handle bird of prey...sheesh...
True, but the Borg can also re-modulate their weapons to shield frequencies. The Enterprise was able to go toe to toe with a Borg Cube with no shields so it should be able to do the same against an ancient BOP.
Also, the Enterprise has far more firepower than was demonstrated during that battle at the end of Generations again leading me to question the whole scene.
Doesn't borgs prefer assimilation not destruction. They just keep jappin "resistance is this and that....." and then starfleet use some weakness of borgs against them.
Toe to Toe with a Borg Cube? Are you serious?? The first counter saw the Enterprise get its ass handed to them. The Borg sat there and took samples of the ship. BOBW saw the Enterpise spend most of the time running, admittedly to give the Fleet time assemble, however every engagement after that saw the Enterprise hiding. Picard even did a tour of the ship, in preparation of a hopeless battle. They managed to destroy one vessel with a star because the Enterprise stood no chance.
Toe to toe in the sense that they could hang in a fight against a Borg vessel (admittedly small fights from what we've witness on the series) and not have their vessel destroyed.
I know that the Enterprise doesn't have enough firepower to destroy a Borg vessel on it's own (sans a star in Descent 2 and the main deflector in BOBW) but they still lasted longer VS a BOP that knew their shield frequency...
I guess it's one of the things that shit me about Star Trek. The ship, or the enemy ship, is only as powerful as it needs to be to create drama. It could be said that the BoP hit the Enterprise in a sensitive spot. The only reason it blew was because of a leak from memory.
True! I've heard some say that the reason the Enterprise didn't go all out in battle with the BOP was due to no shields+families on board would put everyone at risk, so easier to run than stay/fight and risk peoples lives (wow, devils advocate there lol).
yeah the enterprise d vs borg enterprise would be a stain on the carpet if their wasn't that continent nebula or the borg didn't take time to analyze right at the right minuet, as far as the bop incident... its because riker fracked around to much hes like leave orbit no stay.. fire weapons not leave no stay and its like riker just fire a full spread of photon torpedoes and phasers and blow that thing to bits.
Fans can try to justify the bop battle during 'ST:Generations'. .....however what it comes down to is....poor writing.
The writers for the movie weren't overly effective in making this movie 'epic'.
In hindsight, you could easily say that with two direct torpedoe impacts near the deflector at the beginning of the battle, the Ent-D's weapons were badly damaged.
yeah i loved the music. it was the music that played in full Nemesis trailer and then one day i was watching a random movie on break at work and i heard that song and i was... wait a minute... that song! THAT'S IT!!! it was playing during the credits of the recent Planet of the Apes remake. just so ya know...

I love how the warbirds look from Nemisis. Too bad most of the Romulan ships are junk, except the D'deridex
SnIkLeeT 2 years ago
How can most of the Romulan ships suck if most of them ARE D`deridex Warbirds ?
NightwishRaven999 2 years ago
@NightwishRaven999 , Good point :P
SnIkLeeT 2 years ago
There are a few other ship classes, like Praetor, D`talla, Scout, Norexan but the majority of the Romulan fleet is composed of D`deridex Warbirds.
The Warbirds are very cool looking and intimidating but they are also big and bulky. They suffered much from this during the Dominion Wars.
Remember the episode "The Die is Cast" in Ds9 ? Jem`hadar ships had no trouble destroying the large warbirds.
