The FX-35 was my favorite, but it is expensive, delicate and hard to modify.
The Aiptek HD-1 is almost as good, cheaper and doesnt require mods (although you can do them to save weight), except for a wide angle lens. See my "Prainha" CE and RJ videos to check its image quality.
Fat Shark just announced their FS-HD1, which is specifically designed for FPV, so no mods required and it has some advantages. Check its thread on RCGroups.
Depends on what you consider a good range. I got around 1km with this setup, which I consider short range, but flyable. The setup is listed on the video description. This should give you a good start.
Amazing quality ! Well done ! I'm currently working on the same kind of Lumix hack. ANy chance to see how looks like your final setup ? I'm particulary curious about how you've achived the pan mecanism.
Fico impressionado com a qualidade de muitos videos como o seu. Eu estou procurando um camera HD para meu EasyStar. Ainda nao me decidi qual modelo. Estava pensando na nova Sony Webbie, mas sao poucas as pessoas que a usam.
Yes, very windy, specially for a 700g foam plane. Check the eolic gens on the background. But that is no excuse - I need to put gyros on it and fly smoother to get a better result. This was just the first flight of this plane with a camera on it.
show!

Pretty cool. You can actually get a live video link to your googles? That's awesome. I didn't know it was possible.
Great vid

Yes. The Fat Shark Aviator video goggle was specifically designed for this.
