now you need an apple core-er/quarter-er. It takes out the core and cuts up the apple for you, its pretty epic really. we got ours at a dollar store and we use it all the time
Tongs, the ones that lock closed, are my most used kitchen gadget. The OXO brand make a great size range and they have ones with rubber on the handles for easy gripping. I use them to turn meat, cook in my Wok, pick up raw chicken (I hate touching chicken!) and when sauteeing anything. They are a wonderful addition to any kitchen. ;)
Love your gadgets! Some of my favs are a rasp or microplane for grating finer than the cheese grater you showed, cookie press, mini chopper, electric knife, salad spinner, salad shooter-don't think they even make those anymore but I LOVE mine!
for the garlic smell on your hands, try running the dull, preferably clean side of your kitchen knives along your fingers after you touch the garlic. i can't explain precisely what it does, something with ions and magnetic charges of the food particles or something, but it gets rid of the smell for me.
@b28e I think anything stainless steel works, works to get lobster smell off your hands too. I get by big stainless soup ladel and wipe my hands all over it, no more smell.
If you ever get stuck touching garlic or onion and the smell gets on your hands, put some dish soap in your hands and rub them on the stainless steel of your sink for a few sec, then rinse and wash again just with soap. The steel takes the smell of onions and garlic out of your skin! I do it all the time, I HATE food smell on my hands :)
@Leslie262 Cool. I have to try this. Has anyone ever taken a shower after they have touched onions that day? OMG....it's NASTY. Even after washing my hands like 5 times all that stink just comes out in the shower. So nasty lol I've also seen stainless blocks just for this too. Must try!

i have this adorable egg slicer, by far the best little gadget i have(: its the same idea as the mushroom one you have, but your able to slice it anyway you want in horizontal or vertical perfectly and the yolk part wont fall out of it like it would if you tried doing it by hand.. i love it :D

Oooh I have the same hand smell phobia! I have to wash my hands every time I touch an old doorknob or have to use an old key as well as change, food and pets! I can't even stand for a smelly dog to be anywhere in the same vicinity because it might get its stank on me. :(

6:27 thats not a cookie scoop? it's an ice cream scooper. some bakers just use that so they could dumped out the batter easily than ladle,and it's more precise. but it's really meant for ice cream.

That actually is a phobia, where you don't like your hands to smell like things! I can't remember my name, but my chemistry teacher two years ago had that same phobia, especially for oranges, and people would sneak into her office and arrange oranges ALL OVER her desk, and on top of her rubber gloves, so she'd have to touch them.

My uncle has a potato-press which cuts the potatoes into french fries shape (or thin slices for fried potatoes with another press insert).
I own only some knifes and an immersion blender. I had an onion chopper once, but it was a pain to clean.

@strawberrymargharita i dont think any of them are really that hard.. i just use a scrubby brush (has bristles and there is dishwashing liquid in the top that you push down for it to come out into the bristles) and they clean quick

im not sure if anyone else has told u this or not but ur icing thing is also a cookie press i have one but it is electric and it is amazing and makes the coolest looking cookies.

I really liked the strawberry core remover thingy...of course I'll have to get one now just to so I can gut them. I especially liked the apple peeler...I'll probably just buy apples just to peel them at first. I would really like to see you do a video on making an apple crisp since you mentioned it. That would be awesome!

6:27 thats not a cookie scoop? it's an ice cream scooper. some bakers just use that so they could dumped out the batter easily than ladle,and it's more precise. but it's really meant for ice cream.

along with the stainless steel soap, they have hand sanitizers at bath and bodyworks that are made for the kitchen and eliminate food smells on your hands. LOVE THEM. lol

I love kitchen gadgets! I buy gadgets and appliances all the time lol. One of my fave kitchen appliances ever is a Black & Decker Shell Baker. We used them in my middle school home ec. class and i loved it but they must've stopped making them because i couldnt find one, but I ended up finding one at a garage sale....best garage sale purchase ever. you need one LOL

you should get stainless steel soap! it's the weirdest thing ever, and i don't know how it works, but if your hands smell like garlic or onions, you can just rub it on stainless steel and it will make the smell go away! my gourmet food teacher told me that and i've tried it; it's amazing! you should try it out on something stainless steel in your kitchen :)

That actually is a phobia, where you don't like your hands to smell like things! I can't remember my name, but my chemistry teacher two years ago had that same phobia, especially for oranges, and people would sneak into her office and arrange oranges ALL OVER her desk, and on top of her rubber gloves, so she'd have to touch them.
