@Litoloand Uhh, you never saw Nick Berg be beheaded by Zarqawi, that was in Fallujah too... a tiny bit worse then fallujans trying to earn a living by serving fried chicken.
@Re5Publica Actually...Americans getting killed in that fashion is an inevitable by-product in the invasion of an islamic nation...of course its going to happen. The bigger picture of constructing a KFC is the depressing part. Citizens of Iraq now have to see the figments of the west (which they despise) in their face every morning. Now they lose everything. Culturally, KFC will never serve a purpose for them. They don't eat like we do. So it serves no economic purpose.
@Litoloand The KFC was opened by Iraqis without the permission or say-so of the head office in America. It's an illegal franchise that was opened by Iraqis to be able to make a living. It's not the end of their civilization. You're being an idiot. If it doesn't make them money, they'll close it. That's how business works.
@oh2love4love Let me guess, you were more comfortable with al-Qaeda being in Fallujah, than KFC. You should think hard about why you think that way, and then kick yourself.... hard.
You should also know it was Iraqis that opened the restaurant without any permission from the KFC corporate office. Just Iraqis trying to make a living. Can't stand it can you?
@Re5Publica "iraqis trying to make a living" dude...one of the most ignorant comments i have ever read. .You better have of served in at least an infantry unit in fallujah with the way your speaking to have any clout. @oh2love4love And keep up the fight against what you seem to think is the bigger threat to Iraq; fried chicken, and not baathist fascism, and islamic totalitarianism. You're doing iraqis a favour.
Stop crying people Fallujah was a massive battle, it was a long hard fight many people gave there lives fight all those insurgents. I wish KFC was there in 2004
this is so sad, America killed upwards of 50000 people and made upwards of 300000 homeless, broke the geneva convention and lied to peoples faces and now they want to pretend its alright again because theres a kfc there, it's depressing to see. the media constantly lied as to there being any major organised insurgency in iraq. the media claimed that Abu Musab al-Zarqaw a jordonian terrorist had seized control of the city were as there is no evidence he has ever set foot in the city.
it shows progress in the nation dumbass. greater stability in the region that a kfc can exist in fallujah. once thought to be the worst part in the anbar province
it isn't more stable as us records will show you, the number of 'insurgents' has doubled since the invasion of iraq. Iraq has been made a martyr. The Kurdish Iraqi's have formed Kurdistan and been invaded by Turkey, islamic extremism and fundementalism are at all time peaks and a civil war looks to be coming iraqs way and you say there's progress??????????
okay, allow me to enlighten you. Insurgents have doubled due to resistance to our presence. they werent tehre before because they agreed with the gov't. why would there have been insurgency in iraq if they support what is going on? "Progress" is diminishing the numbers of these terrorist to the point where an American restaurant can exist there and do fine. Civil war falling upon iraq is a major concern, thats why we have not left yet, and plan to stay until that risk is set aside
think what you will. it's a vicious circle and no one will gain anything beneficial in the long term. the country has regressed greatly after the invasion and is going to take a long long time to return to how it was which wasn't great. and these 'terrorists' are for the most part just extremely pissed off iraqis. the restaurant can exist because it's in American controlled territory. and the civil war will likely occur with or without American occupation, hopefully it won't happen at all.
The country returning to the way it was is why the American presence has not yet left. Assuming these are just pissed off iraqis, tell me, where they obtain the supplies and knowledge to make ied's? This is due to their current and former terrorist ties and activity. The civil war factor is being diminished by America. If it happens it will happen upon our withdrawl. The region is known for instability, the current objective is to create a new stable alli in the region.
but the civil war will only,I think, be slowed in it's coming, because yes when America leaves there will be little to stop the warring. i think that Iraq needs to be allowed develop and that we should help them having started a war there but not strong arm them like they have been. it's happened now but it wasnt a fair and a just war and it took place because of a few avaricious higher ups seeking to gain short term benefits for themselves at the cost of long term problems for thousands.
Well, my friends say it taste pretty similar to KFC back home. I just can't believe FOX news couldn't find anything more important to report on than this. It is kind of humorous that a billion dollar news agency is getting their news stories by watching YouTube. What a waste of a journalism degree, huh? I'll let you know, it's a morale buster to stop there and eat. Real or fake, who cares. Beats a MRE any day.
Well, now...we can all sleep easy, knowing American lives and all of that money was worth something. Now, citizens of Fallujah can eat Famous Bowls just like us Americans. Thank God.
That general looked a little ashamed to be part of that story.
General Tommy Fags chose Cigar Aficionado magazine to announce the new dictatorship after 911. In times past he would be hung by the neck until dead after his speedy trial.
Steve Douchy would not know the truth if it fucking hit him in the head and the iraqi money he is talking about is in a bank collecting interest while America pays for this dumbass war.
So, just because a restaurant with the KFC sign does not have an association with the real KFC, this somehow proves Fox News presents false news, Republicans lie, and Fallujah is still a hot bed of conflict.
Really, who cares? It's Fallujah, there's a familiar-looking place where our guys can get food, chickens are being fried not people. That's progress.
That they are using an iconic American brand name in Fallujah-though unauthorized-speaks volumes about how much things have turned around.
What bothers me about this report isn't that it's not a real KFC, the restaurant has little to do with their real message. They're subtly trying to force the idea that Fallujah (and all of Iraq) is a safe place, so safe that American companies see it as a business opportunity. The KFC bit is just a distraction. I refuse to believe that Fox News, with all their man power, can't call up the Yum! spokesperson and get the simple facts. I'm sure they knew what was up, but it doesn't matter either way
They have a different agenda here. Little bits of misinformation here and there do add up and can change ones perspective on things drastically, this is why I found this report so insulting.
In Arabic written "king of Kentucky Chicken" which is different from Kentucky Fried Chicken, if Faux hired Arabic translators or at least called KFC they would know. and I like how they analyze to look like professionals. lol, the sad thing still some people believe in their entertainment "news"
Do none of you stupid fucks not understand that opening ANY FUCKING STORE in Falluja is Good? Are you all fucking dope headed seditious bastards? If so, please eat enough KFC to clog your arteries. Oh, and die. That would be just swell.
LOL great link, figures Fox would grab some nonsense story, and air it without checking, after all it seems made for trumpeting the sucess of the surge.
Oh, rah-rah-rah...it's a war based upon LIES and manipulation of intelligence but, of course, let's not discuss anything of significance. These people disgust me!
This is a completely bogus story. The "KFC" in Fallujah is not a franchisee. How much work does it take Fox News to call somebody and find this out? Journalism my ass.
Now all they have to do is have a "very special episode" or replace Vivian with an all-new Vivian (that's a "Fresh Prince of Bel Air" reference, by-the-way)...
Just think, only 4,000 Americans had to come home in boxes so they could bring home chicken in a bucket. Hope it tastes like freedom. Smells like something else to me.
Well said. Only Fox and Friends could celebrate a installation of a fake KFC not associated with the chain as progress in Iraq. Should be ashamed of themselves. Complete propaganda machine. Reminds me of when Kilmeade told Garofalo, "Don't the Iraqi people deserve a chance for freedom?" Makes me sick.
Hang on, that's not a KFC store, its an Al Quaeda recruitment depot, that's George W on the sign and it says "Kill For Cash" in small print.
But seriously, KFC, this doesn't prove anything, let alone progress. They barely have a working government and thats limited geographically, at least they are starting to ignore US pressure and gain support internally.
I am sorry but give me a break. Fix home before you try to americanize a foreign nation. My father told me they were going to try to build amusement parks (which they did) fast food restaurants (which they are doing) and capitalize on oil which they probably will. WAKE UP AMERICA!
Great job Bush & Co., you fucking morons. Complete and utterly destroy a country, kill countless innocent people for no reason, and then build a god damned piece of shit KFC for them. And people wonder why the whole world hates us...
This shows you how evil the US is. They invade a country and kill over 500,000 civilians, rob them of their oil, force their belief on them , and then set up shops and us businesses. This is US tradition! First Rob the indians, Then Rob the Africans, Now rob the muslims. This is terrible!
You forgot Vietnam, South Korea, Panama, Cuba, Chili, El Salvador, Grenada, Guatemala, Iran (C.I.A. did a coup d'état in the 1953 among many other things) and Afghanistan... (Haiti & Somalia fits into your African generalization). And many more that haven't been documented...
that's right Iraq! eat it! We'll see who is laughing in 30 years when your healthcare system is so overburdened that your life expectancy starts to fall and politicians sit around with their thumbs up their ass! Yea, democracy in the middle east!
we put 12 billion dollars a month into iraq, no wonder their gdp has tripled... maybe that money could have been better spent in the US with all the problems in the US
Someday, all the citizens of the world will be fat, lazy and stupid (just like Americans), thanks to your corporate overlords. Then the profit will be rolling in.
@ONQproductions Ahh, anti-americanism, the only universal socially acceptable prejudice. You know the fattest people in America are poor, visible minorities, not wealthy white people, so, way to go, you're a racist, and you hate the poor. So much for being a progressive anti-capitalist champion of the poor.
@Re5Publica Uh, yeah... you got me?!?! Fat stupid and liberal is no way to live - but wait a minute! How do you esplain Rushbo, Pat Buchanan, Roger Ailes, Haley Barbour... And who's the racist here, and who hates poor people? "You know the fattest people in America are poor, visible minorities..." I'd bet their race and status fall along demographic averages - mostly white, and mostly lower middle income. Why? Corporations feed gabage to poor people.
@ONQproductions Wow what a shock, you sound like a Hollywood writer. Somehow being a writer like you do not work for a profit? YA YA give it a rest, I know all about how you get funding for your movies from outside the united states. Can you say ultimate hypocrisy? Jackass.
@ONQproductions Fact: Citizens of the United States are some of the hardest working people in the world. They have been at the top of the list for productivity per hour for years. Most follow the laws of their Union, and that is why they are so strong. Just look at the infrastructure of the United States. World War 3 and 4 wouldn't destroy the United States infrastructure. Only China comes close, and they have a couple dozen more people than the United States. I'm only kidding about WW IV :-)
I've eaten from that restaurant. It was good.
