Here's some valid arguments: It's expensive It's too small It's not very ergonomic The touch screen is gimmicky I miss the click wheel Here's some stupid arguments: It won't play videos I can't play Need for Speed on it It doesn't have a camera I doesn't have a 3D screen It doesn't have a GPS navigator It doesn't have Siri It's an ipod nano, it's supposed to be a small device that plays music.. if you want a smartphone, go get one and leave iPod nano to those who appreciate it for what it is.
I sort of agree with this, they did add a touch screen, but they're getting rid of all the good nano features. If that's the case, then I'd prefer the scroll wheel.

Well, Apple already got you brain washed anyway. Because you still feel the need to buy a whole new ipod nano, just after a year. You 5th gen is just as fast and useful today as it was yesterday. And kid, it's a 1.5" screen, are you really gonna watch a video on a 1.5" screen? I got one just to have music when I workout and it make a pretty damn watch.
He is right in a way, but it is true that the only thing it's used for is for music and that's pretty much the only thing I use it for. I have a playstation and a wii for games and such (maybe an X-box if santa will give it to me). But the touch screen is way easier than the wheel. And besides you can use it as a watch too. so now I don't have to worry about buying another crappy watch when I can just change the face on my i pod
@Sarri71 you have good points, but thats all the nano was meant to be was a music player, which is great for majority of the people, i like it alot more than my touch, the touch is too big, i want something more portable and for music purposes, but i have an invicta for a watch! so don't plan on using it, but it is an extremely great feature!

THE REAL FAIL ON THIS DEVICE is that the on/off button gets stucked after some months, and the fact that the liquid contact indicator activates even with a sweat hand, I've found many people on the web with the same button problem, I've tried to use the warranty but apple says that It is liquid damaged, a big lie, because my nano works perfectly conected to my pc, the problem is the button...
@drak3680444 Actually, If I'm correct sweat does not activate the sweat sensors and if it did you would be dripping off tons of sweat. I'm not an expert but i've read that somewhere, I also have an iphone and I sweat more than an average person but the liquid sensor has not been activated for 2 years now *knocks on wood*

Well, I guess most people live with the "New Is Always Better" rule now. As for the 6th Generation, why don't we look at it this way. It is small, so that you can carry music and radio around easier. Think about it, if they had put videos, you would have said that putting said feature was an epic fail because the screen is too small. I'm saying that, but I still have no idea what to get.

New Nano sucks I liked the idea of an FM radio but that was it. I took it for a test run at the Apple store and it was so difficult to manipulate the touch screen. It was very irritating. It seems as though apple might drop the click wheel altogether.
I just RETURNED the new Nano. The iPod touch is too damn big to run with and I want something that plays video to go. Great job, guys! You have nothing that does both any more! Gotta buy the older model now. Ever notice how many negative reviews exist on amazon?

Totally agree with you. But to clarify. The first iPod with a color screen was the iPod Photo. Couldn't play video's but, first iPod with a color screen and you could load your photos on it. After that it became the iPod video. First video capable iPod.

Ability to play video on a microscopic screen is a strange thing IMO. I have a Transcend player which costs less than $50, only plays audio and I think it's the way to go. There's full-blown iPhone-like stuff and there's this kind of small audio players without touch screen nor video playback. No need for anything in-between!

Look man, I agree that the nano 6 si a bit expensive but for the camera and the video... get the ipod touch man! You can't expect for a device so little to have all that functions. It's a mp3 player - just for music! Realy depends of what are you gonna' use it for...
personally i think the nano shoudlnt need a camera. u want an ipod with a cam, get the itouch 4g. as potentialy cool as it might be, im good with a nano without a cam. the only real disadvantage i see with the new nano (which i now have and i like it ) is it cant play videos. but its good in every other way if u ask me

i like mine. its small and compact so it can fit in my pocket easily and no buttons mean for more screen to display information about what music i'm listening to. Would be nice if they put video on it though but i wouldn't use it personally.
@SuperGerbs: Exactly; That has always been the main focus of iPods. The cameras, games, etc, are just extras that Apple chose to give us additionally.
I find the new nano to be a great addition to the nano line. BTW, upon doing firsthand research, I found my 5g nano didn't like sweat either; So, it was nothing new with the 6g. In short: Just because you don't like it, it doesn't mean that it's a terrible device.
I was also very close to buying the 5 gen nano last year when it came out. I couldnt believe it had a camera and could pause live radio. But alas I ended up getting an ipod touch, (which was worth the extra money btw) I now have an iphone 4 and couldnt be happier. The only thing good about the nano is it can be wore as a watch, (which is sorta stupid but also sorta cool)
When it comes done to the technic, I just can not understand why everybody buying this apple shit. Before Apple started making MP3 players there where some companies like iriver doing real hifi-mp3 players. With 8 Band or even 10 Band Equalizers, the abilitie to reduce or increase playback speed in 0,1% steps, direct stereo recording to mp3 (256), extra mic line in, using java apps, playing any formats and so on. But Apple killed all competitors by marketing. THAT IS EPIC FAIL (by the customer).
I got an used ipod classic, no it's good for videos. When I saw the new iPod nano I thought "MAN THAT LOOKS GOOD" but thanks for this video it saved my but I need video that's the main reason I use a classic.

my sister has nano 4gen and it broke 2 weeks after end of warranty, cost chf 279 to repair a little thing. that SUCKSSS get a standard mp3 player they cost about a third of ipods and last much longer than ipods
first, where can you access the app store for ipod nano 5g (click-wheel games) and second, my ipod nano 5g sucks ass. it doesnt have an inbuildt speaker.

If you look through the Ipod nano 6 gen, you will find that it has an accelerometer, meaning that you will soon be able to by apps from the app store and play games...Although I do wish that it had speakers. The speakers were my favorite feature on the nano 5th gen. I think that that is the only down fall..the nano 6 gen is GREAT for jogging and going to the gym i find..it dose NOT sweat, at all..also the screen on it is excelent! :)
I agree with you totally. I had the 5th generation nano and to me it was (almost) perfect. As a consumer i want apple to take the 5g nano and upgrade it with bluetooth, 16 and 32 capacities, airplay to apple tv, hd camera and 30+ hour battery life. And that is my vision of the perfect ipod nano. But paying customers cant get what they want.
Im down for last years model...i just dont care for second hand last years model...and those are the cheap ones selling...the nano 5th gen is a bit more expensive than 6th gen...which is sad...

I just RETURNED the new Nano. The iPod touch is too damn big to run with and I want something that plays video to go. Great job, guys! You have nothing that does both any more! Gotta buy the older model now. Ever notice how many negative reviews exist on amazon?

th 5th gen nano was probably the best nano they ever made. They should have kept that same formula and just added more features to it.
This new nano is just a touch screen shuffle with more memory. FAIL.

apple just marketing genius...imeen making the touch the startin apple product cause its just like 40€ more than the nano so its like, nano 16gb or touch8gb with ios...ios brings in more money cause of appstore itunes but also brings up more future mac-customers cause of those apple only funtionalitys all ipod users grow in...well it is brilliant in a strategic way...

Totally agree with you. But to clarify. The first iPod with a color screen was the iPod Photo. Couldn't play video's but, first iPod with a color screen and you could load your photos on it. After that it became the iPod video. First video capable iPod.

Ability to play video on a microscopic screen is a strange thing IMO. I have a Transcend player which costs less than $50, only plays audio and I think it's the way to go. There's full-blown iPhone-like stuff and there's this kind of small audio players without touch screen nor video playback. No need for anything in-between!

personally i think the nano shoudlnt need a camera. u want an ipod with a cam, get the itouch 4g. as potentialy cool as it might be, im good with a nano without a cam. the only real disadvantage i see with the new nano (which i now have and i like it ) is it cant play videos. but its good in every other way if u ask me

i like mine. its small and compact so it can fit in my pocket easily and no buttons mean for more screen to display information about what music i'm listening to. Would be nice if they put video on it though but i wouldn't use it personally.

I find the new nano to be a great addition to the nano line. BTW, upon doing firsthand research, I found my 5g nano didn't like sweat either; So, it was nothing new with the 6g. In short: Just because you don't like it, it doesn't mean that it's a terrible device.

I was also very close to buying the 5 gen nano last year when it came out. I couldnt believe it had a camera and could pause live radio. But alas I ended up getting an ipod touch, (which was worth the extra money btw) I now have an iphone 4 and couldnt be happier. The only thing good about the nano is it can be wore as a watch, (which is sorta stupid but also sorta cool)

When it comes done to the technic, I just can not understand why everybody buying this apple shit. Before Apple started making MP3 players there where some companies like iriver doing real hifi-mp3 players. With 8 Band or even 10 Band Equalizers, the abilitie to reduce or increase playback speed in 0,1% steps, direct stereo recording to mp3 (256), extra mic line in, using java apps, playing any formats and so on. But Apple killed all competitors by marketing. THAT IS EPIC FAIL (by the customer).

I got an used ipod classic, no it's good for videos. When I saw the new iPod nano I thought "MAN THAT LOOKS GOOD" but thanks for this video it saved my but I need video that's the main reason I use a classic.

my sister has nano 4gen and it broke 2 weeks after end of warranty, cost chf 279 to repair a little thing. that SUCKSSS get a standard mp3 player they cost about a third of ipods and last much longer than ipods

If you look through the Ipod nano 6 gen, you will find that it has an accelerometer, meaning that you will soon be able to by apps from the app store and play games...Although I do wish that it had speakers. The speakers were my favorite feature on the nano 5th gen. I think that that is the only down fall..the nano 6 gen is GREAT for jogging and going to the gym i find..it dose NOT sweat, at all..also the screen on it is excelent! :)

I agree with you totally. I had the 5th generation nano and to me it was (almost) perfect. As a consumer i want apple to take the 5g nano and upgrade it with bluetooth, 16 and 32 capacities, airplay to apple tv, hd camera and 30+ hour battery life. And that is my vision of the perfect ipod nano. But paying customers cant get what they want.
