I think you're thinking of "Snake" by Taj Mahal. I can't find a recording of it online, so I don't know how similar is it.

OK, I'm watching the movie now - netflix is great, lol. You are thinking of "Snake" (written by Seagal, performed by Taj Mahal). It's a different song, but does end with repeated low breathy "Snake in the grass" that are very similar to the ends of my verses.

I did see this movie when it came out, so it was probably an influence.

I am 100 % sure that i have heard it in a movie.

I cannot remember the plot, but it was Burt R or Steve S. If i were you (sounds like a title for a new song) i d watch ALL of their movies...again..lol..
