Chris Elliott mimics Jack Hanna as he brings out a "Rastafarian Snow Leopard" actually, a rabbit in swimming trunks. Anyone have this? Please upload very funny bit.
@edbork1444 You wouldnt happen to have kept the tapes...probably deleted them each night. I would kill for a complete collection of Dave in the eighties.
So many young comedians and comedy writers of this era have totally ripped Elliot's Late Night work off; or at least were heavily inspired by him. That oblivious, narcissist but still lovable brat version of himself that he did on Letterman runs rampant in comedy these days. But he did it best!
His decline started in the early 1990's and was cemented when he left for CBS. He also seems to have become a major league asshole in the last 10-15 years or so as well. Sad, because Late Night was as good and innovative as you stated it was. He and Howard Stern both have lost the magic, big time.
I would set the vcr to record Late Night when I was in High School. The Fugitive Guy was one of my all time fav skits. I even drew a FG logo on my Science book cover.... Great post... thanks.
Paul's laugh is funny at :45 ...he really gets it.

He'd never heard of "The Fugitive"? I'm younger than he is, and I've heard of it.

If Chris had focused on his business instead of schmoozing with Judd, Molly, Rob and Emilio the Fugitive Guy would still be on the air.

Watching the old shows reminds how good it was and how bad his CBS show is.

I love the insert photo gags Chris Elliot did. So funny. Yeah this period was the best - Letterman's mid 80's prime.

Vintage Elliot..."I think you're thinking of Mannix."

This is great. I remember this when it aired. But Elliot's show is called "The Fugitive Guy," not "The Fugitive"
