I wouldn't drive an SUV or truck in this economy or when it was stable. Everyone has their own opinions I have said already, it is economically smart; you save money.
Just me personally, when I look for a car, good gas mileage is a plus but it also has to have a bit more speed, maneuverability, better safety and room (myself, passengers, luggage, groceries, etc.)
It doesn't have to be a v6 or a gas consuming v8, there are 4 cylinder cars out there to choose from that get excellent gas mileage.

I'm a Smart-owner and i do at least 50-100 km a day, no problem.
It's a car like any other car with only 2 real disadvantages : no 2 backseats and a electronic speedlimitation of 140km/h.
If you don't have any children and you have a brain (knowing the speedlimit) there's no problem.

People actually view it and you don't have to pay for ad time. You can't do it too often, but it works. That said, the car still sucks.
