As an NCO I've dealt with all types of officers but most of the ROTC officers are really behind the curve then I have to train them and teach them the Army standard which is something they should been thought before getting to my unit , if you can please go OCS these officers are squared away, Army Strong.
You win an ROTC scholarship through a combination of your high school GPA, physical fitness abilities, SAT scores, class rank, and extracurricular activities.
Im also worried about the physical requirements, Im like 6 ft 175. Played High School Football, Basketball, and Baseball, but season has been over for sometime. So if any ROTC vets would mine making suggestions I would vastly appreciate it for the simple fact I dont want a recruiter lying to me. Thank you.
So Im considering doing army rotc(at UCLA). I want to serve my country and represent it well. But I am unsure if it is for me, I have no prior ROTC background. But also I want the scholarship, what is it really dependent on? I had a 3.4 gpa in High School and scored well over a 900 on the SAT does that mean I automatically get it, because if I dont get it I dont wanna join. But see Im conflicted here because does that mean I want to join for the money because I think that would be a bad reason.
@Bjjownsu10 "no offense", you are retarded. I respect the Marine corps and everyone in it, but the ARMY is stronger. obviously you haven't served if you dont realize what you said, because the military in general is an entire brotherhood, not some childish game where other branches think theirs is better. Sure the Marines get longer training and the marksmanship requirement is higher, but ARMY has more people, special forces, and alot more stuff. not to mention we dont use NAVY equipment all day
Is it me or is it not very calming to be treated by docs and RN's that wear ACU's versus scrubs. The ACU's do not seem very calming like the baby blue/baby green scrubs that the civilian side wear...
If you're serious about going military don't go to some jackass ROTC program. Not all ROTC Programs are created equal. The majority of the cadets at the college I first attended didn't give a shit about what it meant to be an officer. Make sure you look into it.
@DiVeronica very true. im currently enlisted in the Army Reserves and im contracted into my university's ROTC program and most of these people are so carefee. they dont know basic training.
@coolccon , North Georgia is def different than the other senior military colleges. I'm not going to lie and say that North Georgia is better, simply bc I havent been to the other universities, however, North Georgia recently had the number one cadet and more top ranking cadets than any other program. We have a program called pre-camp which prepares you for LDAC. Every cadet that I know that has gone to LDAC through North Georgia said that it was a breeze. email me for more

I like how he says "Going to westpoint and going here, you will be the same level.." Same rank? Yes.
Same skills, tactics, experience, etc.? No!
