If someone comes on here and says he is anything less than an incredible drummer, they are not really a drummer. This guy is insane and one of the most creative drummers in the history of music. He also builds them, so spare me the he is not good. MANY drummers better than you totally respect his art.
@poizen1381 i agree with what you say...not to long ago me and some dip shit on here got into it over rikki rockett this dip shit tried to tell me rikki rockett couldn't play double bass i was like he can so i can hear the double bass is some of his solo's but this clown acted like he knew it all i am a drummer my self and i know a double bass when i hear it ..and you are right rikki rockett is incredible one of the best drummers there is for sure i love hearing him play

For the record, Steven Adler has monster chops. GNR was all about the guitars lead/rythym/bass and the drummer was expected to do little more than keep time for their "sound". It did work based on the amount of records they sold over that relatively short period of time....... Remember, just because Adler was a 4/4 boom, blat, boom, blat, boom, blat guy for GNR doesn't mean he didn't have the skills to do much more. He was simply playing his role for that band.

Uh, and the rolls he made, not just hitting drums but mixing a great amount of cymbals, really sounded quite well to me. As far as I'm concerned, a great drummer is not just the one that shows you a great solo, but the one that can make a song sound round, not overplayed.
All you haters, hate because anyone you like have nothin on Rikki! The sound on this video is not great, and you can not hear all thats going on with this solo. Rikki IS the most underrated drummer as far as FAN and HATER critics go. But go ask other drummers who actually made it in the industry... They have Rikki BUILDING their kits. Rock on Rikki!

Poison didn't set out to be Buddy Rich or even Led Zeppelin, for that matter. They set out to be a fun glam party band, and happened to become successful. Drum solos are expected at rock shows, and fans don't care if the drummer is not critically acclaimed.
You have to admit, it is more exciting than a Phil Collins "Lets only play 16th notes over the snare and 2 toms" solo!
I freakin love Rikki Rockets drumming. I also like his company Rocket Drum Works. My favorite drummer Brent Gibbs is signed to them. He is incredible.

one must acknowledge Buddy as the grand wizard of drumming and from there, if they make good music and keep good time, let them alone.
