  • fat loss seems to be three things 1. eating at a caloric deficit 2. eating the right proportions of food for your metabolic type 3. drinking plenty of water. just google 'your fit assist' because it gives some extra info on that n explains it better

  • Clean your colon and small intestine. Flush out all the p[arasites. Eat whole living foods. Raw is preferable. Cut out processed food. Sorry that means baked goods and all the yummy brand-names. All poison. Reduce meat and forget dieting; it doesn't work. Make the way you eat be your diet.

  • i dont mean to be mean, but someone that is fat themselves arent qualified to tell me what fat loss to do.

  • I lost 50 lbs on atkins, but you have to keep doing it, most people feel satisfied with the results and get fat again.. The best way to lose weight is to find a way to enjoy being healthy, get a habit of making foods that are good for you that you like and exercising in ways that are entertaining and enjoyable. I like making spicy natural food which helps with appetite and I love going out throwing and catching boomerangs or playing kan jam a Frisbee game

  • Key to the secret of fat loss?

    *Eat less fat (especially saturated)

    *Eat more whole, unprocessed, natural foods (grains, beans, vegetables, fruit)

    *Build lean muscle mass by lifting weights (to increase your metabolism)

    *Do 30 mins of cardiovascular exercise 4-5 times a week

    There's no magic bullet. Common sense, consistently applied.

  • Most of your comments are right on. It's not complete though. You must get the essential fatty acids, the whole fresh unprocessed foods are very important, and exercise-cardio, strength,& stretching-all important.

    One thing you missed entirely is genetics. We are all different genetic types, and that must be taken into consideration. That's where I had a problem for so long.

    Now, I can evaluate my students and they are all getting great results.

  • It's certainly important to tailor any program to suit the individual. Great books for anyone wanting to know how to lose weight and get fit are Covert Bailey's "Ultimate Fat or Fit" and "Smart Eating". Do you know his stuff?

  • Yes I do. As a matter of fact I have some of his books and a series of his.

    I've been into this subject for a very long time, and his material is very timely.

    I especially appreciate how he encourages people to work activity into their lives-as part of their lifestyle.

  • Yes, it's a good balanced approach. I also love his "four food groups of exercise" to ensure effective exercising: aerobics, aerobic cross-training, aerobic sprints, and strength-training.
