I have the 2011 Ford Fiesta SEDAN not hatchback and it's a really nice car and gets great gas milage. However, I'm 5'8" and my head hits the ceiling in the back seat. The front is very confortable, but the back seat is cramped. I guess the hatchback has more room.
New York is an awesome town, but I'm pretty sure it was filmed in LA. That's the Vincent-Thomas bridge in San Pedro Harbor (LA). In the short street scene with the road workers you can see the palm trees in the back - Sunset Blvd I think.
its about damn time this crossed the lake. ford is finally starting to take notice to the american market! that is a good thing because they are a far better company than GM; and they didn't have to get government money : )
6th gear in a 6speed car will have roughly the same gear ratio as the 5th gear in a 5 speed car. no cars have 2 over drive gears. what ure asking for will never come to pass
Why does everyone talk about 'soft touch' dashboards? Are you going to sit your ass down on the dashboard? Does it really NEED to be soft? NO it doesn't!
This one is offered with a "1.6-litre TDCi Duratorq diesel with diesel particulate filter" in the UK that gets 63 MPG in mixed driving.
Check out Ford's UK web site to see fuel economy ratings that would make a prius blush. For a real cardio workout, see the UK VW site, where the Golf gets over 70 mpg.
Sadly, this kind of fuel economy will be out of reach for US consumers for at least a hundred years.
Call your representative at 1 888 355 3588 and ask them why this is.
Keep in mind when looking at UK auto sites that the imperial gallon is larger than the US gallon. The mileage numbers above take this into account.
Anyone saying the UK mileage rating system is different than that used in the US has never owned a diesel car made overseas.
Another statement trotted out is that emission standards are worse in the UK. If that's the case, why do all UK auto sites list carbon data, while US sites do not?
All of which means they would be lower, while the MPG is way higher. Makes me laugh/cry every time I hear X talking head/auto exec. spewing the lie that this or that legislation will bankrupt the auto industry/won't be achievable for decades, etc.
A six gear would be nice. my 83' escort sounds fine at 85 and i had a hyndai at 90 with very acceptable nvh. and 120 is easy in the States with the right car. This car sounds like a winner. Hope the first of many. The Dodge neon SRT was a cool car but not all 20 year olds can afford $22,000 US
Yeah dude, seriously. Why DOES everything get watered down when it hits state side? I mean FORD IS US DOMESTIC ALSO! So technically it came from here in the US but we won't see all the good stuff other import countries are getting from our very own domestic company? WHAT GIVES!?
wow, when i get comfortable in a driver seat in a sentra, there is no room for the seat behind me, yet a smaller Fiesta can leave room for people in a back after he gets comfortable, I'll need to try that for myself.
This is actually the american first small car I can say I like next to the Civic, Fit, and Lancer. In terms of styling which is a really good thing.
I think Ford has significally improved quality year by year. I usto repair collision Fords alot and I could see small improvements in every year model and significant ones every 2-4 years even when the body style didn't change. Compared to 2-4 years small fixes and 4-6 large changes out of other manufactures.
0:21 that's a chevrolet cavalier...
it comes from a Toyota Platform,it's also known as "Toyota Cavalier" (i think the toyota cavalier is JDM...anyway it's the original car)
0:22 what car is it? it looks like a Rover Vitesse to me
Oh the dear AMC Pacer lol
0:23 American Ford Escort...european Ford Escort 1998 cosworth is better...

Right now there is only the gas version.... but maybe the late edition or following years?

@cubeOfat Because the UK taxes their citizens based on how much CO2 their cars give off.

who drives 87 mph in states, which is equivalent of 140 kph
no need to complain about rev
caliberguy07 2 years ago
i do 90 even triple digits on the highway so yea a 6th gear would be nice
jerrry13157 2 years ago
adding a gear doesn't give cars higher top speeds
rngd311 2 years ago
but it reduces the revs the engine makes at top gear which then reduces noise
jerrry13157 2 years ago 7
@jerrry13157 well at 85 mph for a little noise isn't bad, especially since you shouldn't drive over 70.
