  • Next thing that they'll use is bulletproof glass.

  • 240p makes me feel primitive.

  • The reason iphone wont have gorilla glass is because that glass is flexible, so it does not feel good at your hands

  • I dropped my samsung galaxy sII from 5feet in the locker room and it still in perfect condition

  • Iphone will never have gorilla glass...

  • Cool Invention i'd say !

  • i love how they never show the gorilla glass breaking

  • porn music

  • But, will it blend?

  • i would just smack that glass with the hammer or slash it with some FUCKIN knife, but that's just me

  • @TheBeziii smacking it with a hammer may break it, slashing it with a knife, barely scratched.

  • @skystealth22 i know man just joking :)

  • If gorilla glass was made for iphone then why apple doesn't use it but samsung and nokia do?

  • @Taxiozaurus "Teardowns of Apple's iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S have revealed their glass is made of Gorilla Glass from Corning. The special glass is said to be 20 times stiffer and 30 times harder than plastic, thanks to a chemically strengthened alkali-aluminosilicate material. It's believed the same material is used to create the glass screen for the iPad."

  • @commandandconq3 Do you realize that the reason Corning started manufacturing Gorilla Glass again was due to the iPhone? There's a whole section in the new Steve Jobs biography about the CEO of Corning explaining how the glass works.

  • I wonder if there's Orangutan glass too.

  • 240p, we meet again....

  • press 1 to see the glass explode

  • 4 people dropped their ice cream on the beach in amazement.

  • its the glass that bends that doesn't break.

  • Galaxy S II power

  • loved it

  • My samsung galaxy s2 have that!

  • Everyone needs to shut their fucking mouths now. This IS going to be in iPhone 5 and it's going to make even a decent Apple hater (like me) want to buy one. It will be good. It will be strong. Can't wait and neither should you.

  • King Kongs cant beat Godzilla glass .

  • next...King Kong glass!

  • Man I want bear proof glass !!!!

  • But, Will it blend?

  • If its so unbreakable then why have I found so many people who simply dropped their phones and this glass broke just like mine did. It fell from my side pocket about 2 feet from the ground and the whole screen cracked! Now I am screwed b/c dell doesn't want to cover it...they can only say well it does break but if you give me $250 we will send you a new phone....this product sucks!

  • "Let us show you how every day items can damage glass quite easily... Here we take a 20 karat diamond wort 4.3 million and press it against the glass."

  • Chimpanzee glass is better.

  • Thank god my phone has this. No need for screen protectors.

  • so please think about what the fuck you're doing next time u feel like

  • i dont know why u made a commercial with a gorilla, when you were deliberately aiming it at me and my dog ... plus u knew negra was starting to be viewed in a different light, i was letting go of her. and saying hello to another world, you knew i was weak enough to eventually fall for your shit... so why did you feed it to me. wht the fuck is a matter with you? i am god. and miscommunication like this just cost me another couple mil in plastic surgery

  • if somebody continously feeds you poison, when do you say enough is enough? how do you escape certain death? how do you go about fleeing the face of the earth when everyone knows who you are.. everyone knows you killed mankind and you are the hitler of our generation - conversations with myself

  • 2 ppl had iphones with shitty glass ^^

  • @warlordmel iPhones use Gorilla glass for the screen, but regular glass on the back. That's why when the phone drops the screen is usually fine, but the enclosing cracks. Corning started manufacturing this type of glass again specifically for the first iPhone.

  • @Jonmad17 nope, i've searched in google, Apple did not even use gorilla glass in their products. they use these Aluminosilicate glass.

  • @skystealth22 It's fairly well established that it does. The CEO of Corning (Wendell P. Weeks) gave an interview about Steve Jobs. Steve convinced Corning to start redeveloping the glass for commercial products back before the first iPhone... A simple google search confirms this. "Teardowns of Apple's iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S have revealed their glass is made of Gorilla Glass from Corning"

  • @Jonmad17 yeah... corning gorilla glass websites have no traces of the iphone.

  • @skystealth22 "Due to customer agreements, we cannot identify all devices that feature Gorilla Glass. Your favorite device may include Gorilla Glass, even if you don't see it listed. Ask your manufacturer or retailer to learn more."

iPhones and iPads use Gorilla Glass. It's common knowledge. There's even a whole section in the new Steve Jobs biography about how Corning had to build new facilities in the US to make glass for the iphone, and the New York Apple Store.

  • @Jonmad17 Explain why my phone screen doesn't shatter when dropped waist level but an iphone screen shattered when dropped waist level.

  • @skystealth22 I don't know. Why was my laptop fine after falling on concrete, but unhinged after falling on my hard wood floors? Shit happens. Maybe your other phone is much better at transferring the force of impact from the screen to the shell? Gorilla Glass doesn't prevent breakage, it just makes it much more difficult. Also, there's a difference between something "shattering" and something cracking.

  • @Jonmad17 my old phone's gorilla glass just split into 3 pieces after i smashes it with the back of a chopper. then the shards did not fly all over, then when i pull one of the shards gently, it was held together with something stretchy. weird glass.

  • @skystealth22 idk what stupid tests you seem to be wasting money on, but they make no sense. I've had my iphone 3gs for 3 years, with a simple cheap rubber case. It's been dropped multiples times higher then waist level. Screen looks brand new. And FYI, the glass has coating on it, thats the "something stretchy" part. Don't quit your day job buddy.

  • @stfuplzzzz i didn't waste my money. the phone was non-operational so i took it apart. i dropped my phone over 10 times and it still looks fine just with a silicon casing. i took off the screen protector and now it is still free of scratches. i remember i got off the taxi and my phone slipped off my lap and dropped on the tar road, faced down. still nothing.

  • @Jonmad17 besides, gorilla glass don't shatter. they just break. i tore my old desire down and took the gorilla glass to a test. its scratch resistant to anything common you can find in the house. unless rubbed on concrete surface, it doesn't scratch.

  • @warlordmel Iphones have gorilla glass, and now, its 4 people dropped their phones like idiots. 24 people are too poor to buy an iphone.

  • My Sammy Galaxy S2 uses Gorilla Glass. iPhone 4 definitely doesn't. Proved that at the pub on Friday. Mine came off scratch free (and laughing) :P

  • Actually it is suspected that the iPhone 4 does use this Gorilla Glass from Corning, but Apple doesn't like to release info on it's suppliers.

Why does this video seem like it straight out of the 80's??

  • @nery537 ios are for fags like u.

  • @brucebricked no it doesn't. Their screen brakes (there weak).

  • what the fuck gorillla glass i want tiger glass

  • @dkingbest67 its suposed to mean a gorilla (much stronger then man) cant brake the glass. as to say it so strong you could cage a gorilla in the glass

  • haha alot of you guys are funny, the iPhone does in fact use gorilla glass.

  • @brucebricked no, it doesn't

  • @brucebricked BS. look it up. they claim it uses some type of ruby glass 10x stronger than gorilla glass. butttt all companys and youtubers do tests and the iphone 4 isnt gorilla glass. its actually one of the weakest types of glass on a device.

  • Ok.... now let's put it on all the phones and see how it turns out....

  • Who gives a fuck about that shit? I don't even have a phone and I don't fuckin need it

  • complete bullshit, my phone was in my pocket when i took my pants off and dropped my pants on the floor and that shitty gorilla glass broke bad.

  • @AuburnRunningBackU Nobody told you to leave your phone in your pants while going commando did they?

  • Android is for wannabes

  • Android is for dumb fucks that can afford iphone lol:)

  • @nery537 so you are saying that the iphone is good because you pay more for less?

  • @188519

iphone is for rich people only :D

  • @Smokeystyle

i'd rather say, for those, who aren't, but wanna feel like they are ;)

  • @188519 WOOT WOOT GAY PRIDE <3 :P

  • @188519

    shut the fuck up fanboy.

    BTW I use android.

But you fanboys are so fucking annoying

iPhone is good, android is good, both are equal...

  • @pufixas I also using android and I know that iphone is awesome but if you don't know, Iphone use simple glass which easily break when its fall. :)

  • maybe the iphone has a super super thin gorilla glass, which would be to make it less durable and apple makes money on repairs. they also crippled the iphone with a new software update so people would have to by the iphone 4. apple is a scam!

  • @traxxaslover123 wtf does a software update have to do with forcing people to buy the phone?

  • @rice1432 the iphone 3g, not 3gs which is still for sale, was crippled by an update to ios 4. don't know how it works, but it made it slower somehow. look it up

  • Galaxy Tab has gorilla glass mine fell pf the table straight on its screen nothing happened.

  • @thaithau all galaxy s phones have conrning gorilla glass. the iphone 4 does NOT have it.. apple never said they used gorilla glass, but developed a glass strengthened by soda-lime and is stronger than regular glass....not the same thing.

  • Lol. My shitty Cliq XT even has Gorilla Glass.

  • good stuff, should be used more. computer cases.

  • Come on, Apple! Get on this!

  • can you believe this was invented in 1962 and cell phones are now using it today? They were so far ahead of their time!!! just representing the Twin Tiers......

  • it looks like the 80's because that is when Gorilla glass was first manufactured.

  • gorilla glass is shit, my dell streak smashed like a bitch today from about three feet

  • @TELFORD88 Well I dropped my Galaxy S and it fell flat on its screen on a pebbled floor, and there were no scratches or dents at all

  • Samsung Galaxy S has Gorilla Glass. But I still treat my phone like a delicate butterfly. :D

  • Haha the vid looks as if it was made in the 80s

  • @Channe1F1k Gorilla Glass was originally called Chemcor, and developed in 1962.

  • @uxa1 I said it twice, you're the one who needs to chill hun.

  • @uxa1 retard I wasn't talking to you. I clicked reply because I didn't want to have to reload the page to add a comment. There's a reason it doesn't say @retard still.

  • So is gorilla glass just an extremely strong plastic like every other super-strong "glass" on the market or is it actually glass-like where it has the ping sound when you hit it and when it finally does break it shatters like real glass?

  • cowon*

  • does the droid x have gorilla glass? i hate screen protectors but im debating on getting one anyway. wouldnt want anything to happen to the screen

  • The iphone has a problem tho, they cant paint the glass :D hha

  • Nokia N8 will have Gorrila glass

  • "invented" 1962? not marketed up until recentlly, thats odd, more like: Introducing Alein Tech at store near you!

  • Transparent Aluminum?

  • its basically a really strong plexi glass.

  • @banditontherun1024 NOPE, plexi glass cannot be made to a mili inch in width

  • I'm surprised they didn't use Gorilla Glass to make aquariums.

  • @markxiling it does not but other phones do

  • The iPhone4 has something better. From the iPhone 4 video: “We developed a custom glass that’s comparable in strength to sapphire crystal but about 30 times harder than plastic. This glass is not only used on the front of the phone but on the back as well.”

Sapphire has a rating of 9 on the Mohs scale of mineral hardness, which is quite strong. Diamond (the strongest mineral) has a rating of 10

  • @ATLphotographer nope, it's not better. Hardness is not the only measure of durability. High degree of hardness just means it is scratch resistant but tells you nothing about it's impact resistance. In general the harder a material is the more brittle it becomes to sudden impact. NYT writer found that out when accidentally dropping his iPhone on concreter in a bumper case, the glass fractured.

  • i thot this was gonna be a gorillaz song

  • Too bad i dindt invent it. I could be RICH

  • @crazytime666 espessially now, this glass was inventide in the 1960's and its just now coming into play

  • THE IPHONE 4 DOES HAVE GORILLIA GLASS

  • Gorilla glass is NOT Corning's newest or latest invention, it's been around since the 60s. They just haven't found a practical use for it.

  • its not glass its plastic! hahahahah =D

  • cowon j3 ftw

  • yes it does

  • This is a load of crap i had my phone 1 week the new dell streak and its shattered its no stronger than normal glass

  • @ladynicholacooper "It's shattered" is a little vague. Gorilla glass isn't a magical, unshatterable glass. It's just more durable than other glasses. What happened to make it shatter? That's what matters.

  • shattered in my hand bag didnt take much at all even got the photos on my facebook to prove it but just letting people know its shit so if they get one to be careful with it as they do break. so couldnt give two shits if you think if its a lie when yours breaks dont say i told you so.

  • @ladynicholacooper Actually, nevermind. Just realized you have the same exact comment on every Dell Streak related video. You're likely lieing and trolling.

  • This amazing! It's a shame that only now we are starting to see some products with it.

  • iphone 4 does NOT have gorilla glass

  • iPhone 4 doesnt use gorilla glass because of the new way that they stick the screens together.

  • iPhone 4 has it now

  • zune hd has it

  • Did they make this video in 1980?!

  • Did they make this video in 1980?!

  • The new HTC EVO 4G has the same type of glass as well.

  • If you drop a Droid it breaks the floor.

  • @Son37Lumiere if you drop a droid, the droid stands back up and drops you

  • DROID DOES!!!

  • @deef3 Bitches!!!

  • No Gorilla Glass for the iDoesnt. SuperNanny Steve Jobs decided you didn't need it that bad.

  • Yea, you dont wanna put it up against sandpaper. Not to say Gorilla Glass isnt badass tho.

  • sorry to say, but sand scratches EVERYTHING.

  • Love how everyone is saying a phone that came out back in June and was manufactured waay earlier than that doesn't have a feature which a phone that just came out a month ago does

  • The Motorola Droid has Gorilla Glass the iPhone does not!

  • @yamajammer76 it doesnt use gorilla glass but it has still has strengthened plastic glass so stop tryin to downgrade the iphone

  • @yamajammer76 it does now

  • @yamajammer76 I thought iPhone4 got it on front and backside - I saw a test like 0:16 in a Promovid of iPhone4

  • Zune HD also uses corning gorilla glass. Good Stuff!

  • It should be mentioned though that even with all this and the scratch tests on screens like the Cowon S9's, it is not scratch-proof by any means. Sand most likely will still scratch it in your pocket - many people learned this the hard way.

Still it's quite impressive, I don't use a screen protector but I don't have a single scratch. (I will eventually buy one though, just to be sure.)

  • no. sand in the pocket will not scratch gorilla glass. i am not even concerned with scratching my screen. i put it in my pocket and even accidently run it across my metal zippers on my coat. never have scratched. i'm more worried about dropping it and shattering the screen.

  • It can. Not saying it will, but it's possible. Various people have had this, and it's often after they came from the beach or something like that. Sand is quite a bit riskier than metal zippers, really.

I'm not concerned with it scratching either, don't get me wrong. My player has a tiny dent from dropping it and a incredibly small scratch from an unknown cause, both hardly visible. That's after 7 months or so of screen protector-less-ness, carrying it around 24/7. But it's not scratch-proof.

  • so this is what they use for zune 120 screens?

  • is this by any chance related to gorilla glue?

  • lol @ the moron claiming it was for the iPhone

No, sorry, it wasn't. In fact, why do you think there are so many screen protectors for the ipod/iphone?

  • haha not true dude ^^

  • The problem is that Gorilla Glass is just TOO insensitive. On a touch screen device it would barely work!

  • The Iphone doesn't use Gorilla Glass.

  • It was made with the Cowon S9. My friend dropped his iphone from motorcycling and his iphone has a huge crack, maybe it's the new 3G with Gorilla Glass.

  • @keymaster2 i found that out the hard way

ps. dont fight with you iPhone in your pocket lol

  • @keymaster2 the new one will

  • @keymaster2, @yamajammer76 The iphone 4 does use Gorilla Glass

  • @keymaster2 Apple was looking for something like this. Don't worry, Gorilla glass will revolutionize the entire world.

  • @keymaster2 Yes it does :)

  • @keymaster2 Nevermind, just saw the date of your comment xD I mean iPhone 4 does, but it wasn't out when you posted that... :)

  • @keymaster2 it does now

  • Comment removed

  • This is NOT plastic, it's glass

  • Well aren't you a genius?

  • Classic pwn. EvilDwarf for the lose.

  • I don't think you know what pwn means.

  • You fail.

  • hehe I love my S9 :D.

  • Cool. I would like that on my iPhone and Zune.
