  • Awesome. I've been playing around with DADGAD for about two years now and I really love it. But I've had very few examples to watch and learn from so I've kinda done my own thing. Now you have inspired me to learn some new things. Thanks!

Somewhere I put together a video that I call "Land That I Love", but I can't remember if I uploaded it to YouTube or not! :-) Oh Well... If you find it, I hope you like it. It's some of my own stuff. Jon

  • Hello Jon, thanks for sharing this kind post! Great to hear about your music & I hope you are getting plenty of

Playing time. DADGAD is a lot of fun and I hope to find your work!

    best,

    dale

  • 5 Stars! ;) I was just reading through some of the great comments and wow, I can see how this is similar to Mombasa. Never noticed it before.

Just learned Drive by Incubus. I've always liked this tune and wanted to be able to play it. Now if I could just sing. grrrrrr...

Had to experiment a bit, youtube doesn't like something I'm typing.

  • hello my friend! You know i never made a connection between the two tunes sounding similar until i posted this but i can understand how folks could say that. Glad you are getting some pickin time!

    your friend,

    dale

  • Another great rendition, dale.

    Thanks. Hashi

  • thanks so much for watching my friend! Hope all is well,

    dale

  • Very nice playing. You guitar sounds incredible.

Great guitar players are inspired by great guitar players (Mombasa reference). I was lucky enough to play a show with Pat Kirtley recently. During the last set, Edgar Cruz, Pat and myself took turns playing Tommy Emmanuel songs. Pat played "Stay Close To Me" and others. This song stands on it's own but has some similarities. *****

  • wow....what a great story, thanks for sharing it! Those are some great players and that is just great you had that opportunity and have that level of talent and abilities!! I wish you all the best this year with your music.....thanks for stopping in and sharing such kind words!
