How can you doubt the hadeeths when they are so pure and dont call to evil, they call to purity.

@Lantoban Remember that a hadeeth has to sahih (authentic), verified and used throughout the Muslim ummah. For example, let's look at the beard. It is clean hair that grows, as opposed to hair that grows on other parts which has a foul stench to it. It makes a man look distinctive and different to the opposite gender. He is much more striking, like the lion. It builds an identity. The beard builds a social recogntion. Paradise is the end destination for those that strive and sacrifice.

it's so interesting how in part one, dr. Dirks says the reason he rejected christianity was because he could not understand the trinity and found it confusing. Yes Paul wrote 13 Epistles, out of the 27 books of the NT. Paul's letters are the earliest of the NT documents. There is historical evidence that Paul's letters were circulating together from early in the 2nd century. Remember, Muhammad was not even born until 570 AD and the earliest complete text of the Qur'an dates from the 9th century.

This sounds like one of Davis Danizier's odd theories. There is no contradiction between James and Paul. James is not saying that a person is saved by works rather than by genuine faith. He is saying (to use Martin Luther's words) that a man is justified by faith alone, but not by a faith that is alone. Genuine faith will produce good deeds, but only faith in Christ saves.
So do you recognise the authenticity of the book of James, listed by Athanasius and confirmed as a canonical epistle of the New Testament? if so, good. If you do not, it is illogical to use it to refute Paul.

Muslims don't realise how little there is in the Qur'an that is not taken from other sources. Muhammad did a 7th century version of 'cut and paste', by taking the Talmud, together with Jewish myths and fables; his information from Khadija; tales and legends of the Persians; apocryphal works rejected from the Canon of Scripture etc. and cobbled them together as some kind of revelation. It is important to realise that Christians do not think of The Trinity in the way that Muhammad thought they did. If the Trinity was God, Mary and Jesus, then that would indeed be heretical. The trouble with debating Muslims is that most of them have no sense of chronology. How could Jesus have been a Muslim, when the founder of Islam - Muhammad - was not born until 570 AD? That's over 500 years after the Crucifixion. Similarly, unbeknown to Muhammad, the Canon of Scripture was fixed by the 5th Century. Both the Christians and the Jews rightly rejected him for his insufficient knowlege and lack of prophetic credentials.
@vermentinu The word Muslim means one who submits to God. Jesus submitted himself to God and so he was a Muslim like all the Prophets since the beginning. Islam is the religion of all Prophets. It did not start with Muhammad (pbuh) but only continued from where Jesus (pbuh) left off.

I'm afraid this is flawed logic on your part. Muhammad, the founder of Islam, was not born until 570 AD; that'sover 500 years after Jesus's crucifixion and resurrection. Also the canon of scripture was firmly fixed by the 5th Century AD.

as a muslim , a deep believer of ALLAH, I feel like I have to comment about beard tradition.. it is not stated in Quran-i Kerim.
So it is not mandatory.. Many muslims have beard based on hadises written after the death of Hz.Muhammed. the first hadis was written almost 100 years after the death of Hz. Muhammed..
Many of the hadises are questioned by many of the imams. .. .. Just remember, only Quran-i Kerim is unquestionable. because it is ultimate as it is given to us by mercifull ALLAH

@Lantoban So then how do you pray? - The Quran doesn't tell you how to pray, Prophet Muhammad pbuh's sunnah give us this information. The Beard is a command from Allah and there is wisdom behind having the beard, it protects from so many vices. The Quran + Hadeeth books go hand in hand. Quran is the legislation, the hadeeths are examples of how to implement this legislation. This is clear cut. How can you doubt the hadeeths when they are so pure and dont call to evil, they call to purity.

One example, in one of the well know hadith writer, Muslim stated that " whoever says subhanallah 100 times, he or she will go to heaven"
Quran does not even state something like this... How can Muslim say something like this.. this is absolutely opposing to Quran ..

@Lantoban Remember that a hadeeth has to sahih (authentic), verified and used throughout the Muslim ummah. For example, let's look at the beard. It is clean hair that grows, as opposed to hair that grows on other parts which has a foul stench to it. It makes a man look distinctive and different to the opposite gender. He is much more striking, like the lion. It builds an identity. The beard builds a social recogntion. Paradise is the end destination for those that strive and sacrifice.

What a fascinating man. He was so in denial for so long :p.
The more I look at Islam the more sense it makes. I really like how he talked about his friendship with his Muslim friends and how I can relate that all the pracising Muslims I have known have the same attitudes.
I am still finding my way after many years in a void after Christianity. I met with people at the local Mosque last night, to talk about Islam, they were such fantastic people.

it's so interesting how in part one, dr. Dirks says the reason he rejected christianity was because he could not understand the trinity and found it confusing. He went down a path of confusion, (which was very personal to him, and I don't deny him that). But a path of confusion which ends in Islam is really far from convincing. As I always say... don't focus on what's confusing. Confusion gets you nowhere. Primarily, you should focus on what Jesus SAID and DID, since that's the issue.

In 1 Corinthians 14:33 Paul was talking about the disorderly and unregulated worship at Corinth, not about The Trinity. It is good though that you have quoted from Paul's first letter to the Corinthians. His authorship was attested by Clement of Rome as early as A.D. 96. This epistle contains some of the best-known phrases in the New Testament.

Yes, but you still quoted from Paul's first epistle to the Corinthians. There is really no need to outsource your thinking to someone else. Just because someone studied the Bible does not make them a Christian; just as standing in a garage does not make them a car. If you truly want to learn, then I suggest you start by reading up on the background for the Church at Corinth, then you can appreciate the epistle fully.

Yes Paul wrote 13 Epistles, out of the 27 books of the NT. Paul's letters are the earliest of the NT documents. There is historical evidence that Paul's letters were circulating together from early in the 2nd century. Remember, Muhammad was not even born until 570 AD and the earliest complete text of the Qur'an dates from the 9th century.

That is the point. Paul was a zealous Pharisee who intensely persecuted Christians and he participated in the stoning of Stephen, the first Christian martyr. It was when he met the risen Jesus on the road to Damascus that he had his dramatic conversion. Romans 10:4 does not contradict Matt. 5:18-19, because Jesus is talking the hypocritical Pharisees who followed the letter of the Law whilst ignoring its spirit. Read the rest of Matthew 5 for the context.

This sounds like one of Davis Danizier's odd theories. There is no contradiction between James and Paul. James is not saying that a person is saved by works rather than by genuine faith. He is saying (to use Martin Luther's words) that a man is justified by faith alone, but not by a faith that is alone. Genuine faith will produce good deeds, but only faith in Christ saves.

I can assure you that this means very little unless one has the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, which clearly Dirks never had (notice how uncomfortable he becomes when the subject is raised). In terms of Christian scholarship and theology, the top people are the likes of William Lane Craig, who has debated (and refuted) Shabir Ally, Jamal Badawi and Yusuf Islam amongst others.

1. Although the Qur'an is not the Word of God, you must ask yourself why the Qur'an acknowledges Jesus's virgin birth. It is perfectly clear that Jesus is no mere prophet. Jesus (who is God incarnate) being born of a virgin birth by the Holy Spirit is highly significant. God can give up any of the prerogatives of God in order to accomplish His plans. If God chooses to reveal Himself in this way, that is God's will. To say He 'cannot' is to question his Omnipotence.

2. A good question. If Jesus is God, then God died, so who was running the universe those three days that Jesus was dead?
Christ could not die with respect to his divine nature but he could die with respect to his human nature. His soul was separated from his body and his body ceased to be alive. He became temporarily a disembodied person. On the third day God raised Him from the dead in a transformed body. Only Christ's human nature died on the Cross; not His divine nature.

I did not say "God is like time, matter and space" I merely pointed out that trinities exist in nature, e.g. the Universe; the state of matter (solid, liquid, gas) etc. There is only one God who created everything in the universe; and by definition, God could not have created the universe if He were only part of it. The issue is that Islam denies God's greatness by declaring that He 'cannot' chose to reveal himself in human form.

Muslims don't realise how little there is in the Qur'an that is not taken from other sources. Muhammad did a 7th century version of 'cut and paste', by taking the Talmud, together with Jewish myths and fables; his information from Khadija; tales and legends of the Persians; apocryphal works rejected from the Canon of Scripture etc. and cobbled them together as some kind of revelation. Please remember that the word "Bible" itself does not appear in the Bible. Similarly, the words atheism, divinity, incarnation and monotheism don't appear either. Just because the word "Trinity" itself does not appear in the Bible does not mean that the concept does not exist. The Gospel of John alone makes the doctrine clear.

The Trinity does not teach that there are three gods. The Trinity is monotheistic since it is the doctrine that only one God exists in all space and time. Christians believe there are no partners with God because we believe there is only one God in all existence. Remember the universe itself is a trinity: Time, space, matter. Time: past, present and future. Space: height, width, depth. Matter: solid, liquid, gas. The Trinity is not illogical.

only his physical earthly body died. He determined the exact time to dismiss His own Spirit (no ordinary man can do this). When he died God (who is spirit) was separated from the body temporarily until the resurrection, of which he also had control of. Please remember that Isaiah 53 (The Suffering Servant) is a prophecy of the coming of Jesus written over 700 years before his birth. The discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls prove that this was written prior to His birth.

Good question. Yes of course God is all mighty - He is omnipotent, omnipresent and omniscient. The Trinity does not diminish God's authority in any way. It is important to realise that Christians do not think of The Trinity in the way that Muhammad thought they did. If the Trinity was God, Mary and Jesus, then that would indeed be heretical. If you say God "cannot" reveal himself to mankind in human form, then you are denying His omnipotence.

The trouble with debating Muslims is that most of them have no sense of chronology. How could Jesus have been a Muslim, when the founder of Islam - Muhammad - was not born until 570 AD? That's over 500 years after the Crucifixion. Similarly, unbeknown to Muhammad, the Canon of Scripture was fixed by the 5th Century. Both the Christians and the Jews rightly rejected him for his insufficient knowlege and lack of prophetic credentials.

@vermentinu The word Muslim means one who submits to God. Jesus submitted himself to God and so he was a Muslim like all the Prophets since the beginning. Islam is the religion of all Prophets. It did not start with Muhammad (pbuh) but only continued from where Jesus (pbuh) left off.

I'm afraid this is flawed logic on your part. Muhammad, the founder of Islam, was not born until 570 AD; that'sover 500 years after Jesus's crucifixion and resurrection. Also the canon of scripture was firmly fixed by the 5th Century AD.
The oldest manuscripts of the Qur'an still in existence date from not earlier than about one hundred years after Muhammad's death.

You need to realise that the Qur'an is just a caustic blend of regurgitated paganism and twisted Bible stories lifted from Jewish fables and spurious Extra-Biblical sources (e.g. Infant Gospel of Thomas) and other gnostic texts floating around Arabia in the 7th Century. It has no historical or archaeological evidence to back up anything that it says. Islam is (as has always been) about achieving political, earthly aims by subjugation and domination.

Nothing you have said can be supported by evidence. Muhammad claimed to have been visited by the angel Gabriel in a cave - there were no witnesses to this event. Perhaps you do not realise how much the Qur'an borrows from apocryphal sources. For example, the absurd talking baby Jesus myth (S. 19:29-31; 3:46) is taken from the pseudo-gospel: the Arabic Infancy Gospel. Muhammad was nothing more than a 7th Century warlord who used these supposed 'revelations' to further his own aims.

These first 2 verses say a lot,but there are 2 things I would like to focus on.#1 The gospel of Jesus Christ is the gospel of God,and #2 The gospel was promised in the Old Testament as well.The bible consists of 66 books,and all agree with each other.All tell the same story,and all are accurate(proven by the dead sea scrolls).All point to Jesus,and His coming to this earth.

Do you know that Dr Dirk was NOT A CHRISTIAN before he converted to Islam? He reject his faith in Christ years ago but just because he was a christian leader, he is getting attention and publicity.
The truth is : Dr Dirk never understood what Christ did for him on the cross. He is now trying to please GOD with his own deeds.
