I've upgraded also my N250R 2010 with Yoshimura muffler. It really much more better than the standard muffler since you can feel it boost up the power.
Sick bike man!! I'd also be interested in a follow-up vid to see what it's like now. Think you could also film the gear you ride in beside it so we can see how it matches with the bike? Some other mods you might consider are some green tire stripes (though it might be hard to find tire stripes in that new candy green), HID lights, and a Double bubble windshield by ZeroGravity. I've also heard nothing but good things about Scottoilers to keep the chain in great condition.
What a beauty! Oh hey here's a proposal that you might want to consider on,i suggest that you upgrade the dull looking analog speedometer to digital. It would be epic. :o
Whats up man. Would insurance be cheaper on a 250 or 600? Im looking to buy a bike, But I don't want to pay no crazy motorcycle insurance. Thanks great video.
@emtdyal i just bought a new 250r and added yoshi cf slip on exhaust to it just for better sound but im having issues with overheat after that. Will that be may be running too lean?
This bike is dame good for begineers, i bought a black ninja in 2011 and i have put the same carbon fiber yoshimura TRC exhuast pipe. its sounds great.
Beautiful bike. I bought mine a couple of months ago but haven't modded it yet. I like what you've done to yours. Looks very clean and sounds great. The Yoshi exhaust looks and sounds good.
Stop spending money on it and ride....and then ride some more...66 miles not good. Honestly stop spending cash on it, if you are really a rider ...it wont be enough of a bike for you by summer, and if your not really a rider no one is going to give you any where near the $ you r putting into that thing.
You dont need to follow the manufacturers break in. Let the bike warm up and ride like you normally would and open it up here and there but do not hold wot. Your top speed following the manufacturer break in is what 35mph...youre gonna putt around like a moped...dont fear.
@poet79ful I found a blog recently, where a guy took his Ninja 250 (08 model or newer) on a 2000 mile trip, and has done other long distance trips, with saddle bags and a tank bag + tent all strapped on the bike. I really enjoyed reading this blog, and some great photographs too!
Best damn bike in the world. Beginners. Fun easy to flick. Needs slightly bigger tires and fuel injection. So forgiving to ride. It is lacking in power but still fun. 300 would prob be best. Price is good but slowly going up. Stay at $4k kawi nothing more! Great commuter in town. Comfy. 60mpg.
i looooooove my 08' but i want the 250. i thought about upgrading from my 250 but i just cant not yet the 250 is just 2 much fun. btw nice ninja the 12's are fuel injected.
I have the same bike, got it a week ago. I haven't had the chance to get it on the road yet. I had the crash kit (sliders, spools [cost me $36 not $7 :C ]) installed by the dealer before I even picked it up. The drop is inevitable. Love the exhaust, though a bit too loud for my tastes. It almost sounds like it's really saying "VROOM, VROOOM!" Thanks for sharing~! C:
@MsRandomness Well get that puppy on the road and have some fun! I have the same bike as this guy has. 2012 250 Candy green. Just do not get on the highway until u have atleast hit the first oil change ( 600 miles). Could damage ur engine. I want a lound engine tho so other motorists can hear me coming. You want to be seen as much as possible while riding in town. Very dangerous but fun! Be safe!
@poet79ful I took my girlfriend on my 2010 250R from Romford to Cambridge - that's a 55 mile ride. We were going around 95mph on the motorway but the bike was struggling a bit at that kind of speed with 2 people. On the way back, I was riding on my own and going around 105mph which was around 12,000rpm - that's 1,000rpm away from redline, note the bike isn't powerful enough to reach redline in top gear, but 105-110mph is enough for me :)
Nice bike and nice review, I wish I had the money to get a ninja 250. I would most probably do exactly the same mods you have done. You have good ideas !
Hey man, I just stopped by the dealership today and looked at one 2012. I'm a little hefty, I weigh 180 pounds, would this bike still carry me around well?
@freespadersuggs I have a 2010 ninja 250, my dad has ridden it and he is over 230 lbs, it carried him around with no problem. I have ridden 2up on this bike no problem either!
what is the total amount you think you spent on the bike? I want to see if az is still the highest price of is my hometown ny still taking the tops. My bud just got that exhaust and paid 1105$ with dyno.
Get frame sliders and exhaust sliders ASAP!! Learn from my mistake. I laid down my bike on a turn, now my exhaust and right plastics need to be replaced...
awesome bike man I have the exact same one just got it a month ago. one thing you might wanna do is black out the windscreen my removing it then spray painting the inside black. Really cleans up the bike makes it look so much better. anyways congrats and enjoy man!
@ffmedic587- Thanks. I absolutly love the bike. Its lots of fun to ride. I'm on 150lbs and 5'9" myself so its a really good confidence booster to get your skill level up. I'll definatly keep this bike around when I do upgrade. Its great for around town and great on gas, not to mention cheaper insurance. I took it for a 60 mile trip this past weekend and was cruising @70mph on the HWY. I could have gone faster but keeping it low during the engine break in period
@emtdyal1 Well hopefully your bike's fine.. most important thing to break in is not to keep at the same RPM for a prolonged period. Other stuff like keeping RPM below 4k then increments of 500 per 100miles or versus running the bike hard, etc, are debatable.
Regardless, it's probably fine as long as you didnt do that the first few days you got the bike =p
Just change your oils more often in the beginning.
@emtdyal1 I have a 2012 ninja 250 as well. Same exact bike. You def do not want to take it on the freeway until u hit atleast first oil change (600 mile mark). You can damage your engine. But the first thing to go on my bike is the fender! I hate it!
Awesome bike, I have really been looking into getting one and love the candy lime green. How do you like it? Im 140 lbs and figured the 250 would be a better bike for me over the 650. This will be my first bike and will most likely purchase one by Christmas, but will probably get one sooner.
