He shouldn't have taken more than 10min for the first two slides! Then he could have presented a more sophisticated example towards the end.

This very interesting language/environment deserves more attention and that needs more than a IMHO mediocre presentation - not bad, but to weak for my taste...

most google tech talks are not presented that well, but watching them is always worth it.

I agree, the first half hour had an extremely low information density. But this is youtube, you can skip it :p
