  • @katanamast279 GT2 is twin-turbocharged, just like the 911 Turbo, except that the GT2 is rear-wheel-drive and 911 Turbo is all-wheel-drive. the GT3 and GT3 RS are both NA, with linear power delivery makes them a good track machine.

  • @julianleeho The Carrera, Carrera Cabriolet, Targa 4, Carrera 4 and Carrera 4 Cabriolet all have the base 3.6 liter 345 hp flat six. The S versions of those models have 3.8 liter 385 hp flat sixes. All S models, are offered with the optional "power pack," which boosts output to 415 hp.  If the name has a 4, it has AWD. If not, it is RWD. The GT3 has 435 hp and the GT3 RS has 450 hp. The Turbo and Turbo S have 500 and 530 hp respectively. The GT2 RS has 620 hp.

  • @julianleeho It has two turbos, but you are correct. Here is a word of warning: don't be fooled by the power outputs of the 911 range. As impressive as they are, the Boxster and Cayman out-handle the 911's thanks to their superior mid-engine layout. My uncle races a GT3 with the Porsche Club of America and has seen dozens of spin-outs and crashes, all involving 911's. The race instructors all admit that the Boxster/Cayman is the better car in the corners.

  • @saudim46 Listen to what she says it is understeer, When the front end washes out you go wide in the corner even though your turning the wheel enough or even more than you have to.

  • she's right. She was talking about corner entry. Watch it again. With more weight over the rear it will push on entry... but on exit you will get oversteer if your right foot gets too happy.

  • @saudim46 The car may be configured to initially understeer to compensate for the oversteer. While 911s are notorious for their tail happy oversteer, it probably occurs after you gas it to correct the understeer from an initial turn in.

    Corvettes are notorious for being tail happy as well. It makes sense because the engine puts weight on the front giving it grip while the tail slides around (oversteer) until it gets grip.

  • Yeah! the only 911 I'd have unless they offer that spoiler as an option for the carrera S.

    It's an easy to live with track day car with optional extras so it's just like a normal car. That exhaust note is fascinating. I'd definitely have this over a Ferrari and in white.

    And This is coming from a non porsche guy who thinks that Porsche 911 design is a bit too used.

    You can always get more power, more grip etc....but the GT3s are alive, and their engines are simply breathtaking. The new RS4.0 is totally insane.

  • You can convert inherent understeer into beautifully contollable lift-off oversteer simply by moderating your entry speed on the brakes... apply power, and then lift off almost impeceptibly to loosen up the rear end... you can then apply power and steer on the throttle.

    The Alfa 147GTA has be criticized for nose heavy understeer behaviour, but I've found with my car that the same techniques apply... (especially if you fit a set of lowering springs to lower the C of G)
