If you watch pride, reason why pride was so good, was the fact once a fight went to the ground and it got boring the referee would stand them straight up.. unless there was a clear submission attempt or ground and pound the ref would stand them straight up.. back to their feet. I always suggested since i first saw the sport submissions should be taken out of it. that way it remains a real fight, although i have respect for grapplers and its very skillful, its boring and its not a fight.

What is practical is blocking a punch and throwing a kick or a punch. Before Bruce, all the movies were wire work.
