like a lot of people, i think opera is a great browser, but i wouldnt use it, because it has many things that get in your way because you arent used to them. i think opera should hide features by default until people are ready to use them.

Opera Mini for iPhone is absolutely terrible! What they fail to mention here is that it 'sometimes' loads quickly - most of the time it doesn't actually load at all and you have to refresh, wait, and hope it works this time. It's the most unresponsive and ugly mobile browser I've ever used.

@lesVM When you are near a WiFi network (such as your internet broadband at home) your iPhone should automatically connect to it. If it does not, then go to settings>wifi>Wi-Fi=ON, Ask to Join Networks = ON, press the network you want to join>type the password for the network if there is one. That's it.

Mini for phone is not support Flash Player. This is not dispassion for the not support file SIS, APK or EXE phone uses. BOLT Browser also best because can watch video on youtube. Hope Opera can install Flash Player in browser. I want to play online game and watch video flash.

It's shit on my iphone 4. Large, bulky graphics (not retina adapted, to say the least), slow from startup to shutdown with frequent freezes of up to several seconds. I've run opera mini with great success on many of my smart phones and was disappointed when it failed on the iphone.

That is J2me opera, for smart phones or iPhone I do not know what is the principle but if SE K770i smoothly can play videos why wouldn't iPhone :)

the part about the race is a lie. Its two separate videos merged together. the one with safari in it is slowed down through some editing software. U can tell by the little loading symbol on the top, which happens to be moving much slower that it would be no matter what the network speed is

You should give it a try, and prove Opera wrong by making a video if you think they're lying... i don't think they would lie anyway... Opera is free if you haven't realised

@mgmike2 if you look at the time, it changes at almost the same moment (a few seconds apart) -- I doubt opera went through the trouble to fake everything and then edit the time to be correct, just to show opera is faster by a few seconds. the compression technology really works. if you turn it off, the browsers are about the same speed.

@malinakis1 When using Wi-Fi on an Iphone, Safari is just as good as Opera Mini. Maybe even a little bit faster. Opera Mini on the iPhone was created to load multiple pages at once, or to be used over 3G or a normal signal. When Opera Mini VS Safari on a computer, l definitely think Opera Mini is faster.

@ByteReviews Or a blatant lie. Opera compresses and renders 90% of the pages on their servers before sending it to your phone. Safari does not. Opera Mini has been proven many time to be the fasted mobile browser on every phone.

I highly doubt that you tested this using 2G, yes if you have Wifi it makes sense to use Safari, but on the go and with 3G Opera wins. Period.

@ByteReviews If you're trying it through wi-fi chances are that your wi-fi connection is just fast enough to load the pages at the same speed. Opera compresses the stuff so each page loaded is actually much smaller in size, so indeed it takes less time to load. If your connection is fast you might just not notice the difference because uncompressed stuff take the same time to load

The only good thing that I've found so far is that is faster than Safari. Moreover, very badly rendered pages, full-page text is too small, and has only two zoom levels, not the sweetness with the fingers of Safari.

I imagine that don't expected that Apple would approve it, it's the raison why is so bad finished. I just hope it improves in future updates.

I've tried it on the iphone now. It's really fast, but a bit jittery.
