After playing MGS3, 4 and MGS2 I wanted to play this series from the first Metal Gear game. Actually I want to start if from Policenauts and snatcher. What annoys me slightly is that there are over 20 games, I would have to buy a gamecube, ps3, psp, game boy, etc... I wish Kojima would release an ultimate package where every game is on one system. Regardless, I'm still getting the systems and starting from the beginning.
I really like this song ^.^ I'm glad I found it on here. I woke up when this song came on during the credits when my boyfriend beat the game. Beautiful voice!

MGS saga raised me up, taught me many things, including philosophical part! From all video games I ever played, Solid Snake/Naked Snake are both my heroes, my idols in life. This may sound weird, but playing these games, you find something for yourself, you start to appreciate life in any way.

To me there's not much of a difference between Metal Gear Solid and Call of Duty in terms of artistic merit as a piece of interactive entertainment. Metal Gear Solid is probably much more enjoyable and fulfilling to a much more intelligent audience- but its narrative has little to nothing to do with its interactive elements. That's not saying choose-your-own-adventure-novel-games are perfect, either.

My favorite part is the part where it hangs, before the singing starts. Which is when you're just starting at Snake and Big Boss for 5 seconds, right before the credits.
As powerful as this song is as the ending song of the main series, it is twice as powerful when considered in keeping with Kojima's original ending. In my heart and the hearts of most Kojima fans, Solid Snake died at the grave of Big Boss, by his own hand, after years of fighting for the future of the world.

While I can't speak for others and because there's alot of game out there I haven't played, I'll just say my honest opinion about MGS4. This is hands down one of THE best games of all time, and I do not say that at all lightly. It's easily my favorite game, and the story brought me to tears just like Snake Eater did, it showed me a whole new side of the action genre of games like Sons of Liberty did (the first one I played), and it proved games can be so much more like the first did. I've been following Snake since the first Metal Gear Solid (sadly Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2 were before my time), and I will freely admit I wept when I finished GotP. Such a brilliant, brilliant piece. It's not just a game, it's art.
i never played all 4 of the metal gear solids i have only played guns of the patriots but through my life ive watched my brothers play metal gear solid and ive followed the story line through from metal gear solid 1 through to guns of the patriots.
@ContortedWhisk Yeah I know what you mean. When you beat most games these days, the experience is a bit of a let down. More of a "Meh... well thats over." But when you beat MGS4 theres this feeling that youve finally arrived at the end of an epic journey that you and snake took together. Especially for fans that have been going through each of the games in the series it was the culmination of over a decade of gaming.

Hey guys. I just wanted to tell you that Nicola and Bart were two people who were executed in 1927 for murdering 2 people in a armed robbery. There is dispute about their innocence that still is being debated to this day. This song was put in the ending to tell us to remember the Boss and Big Boss, two people who were wrongfully accused of being traitors and objectified as terrorists by the government when they were actually trying to make the world a better place.

As powerful as this song is as the ending song of the main series, it is twice as powerful when considered in keeping with Kojima's original ending. In my heart and the hearts of most Kojima fans, Solid Snake died at the grave of Big Boss, by his own hand, after years of fighting for the future of the world.

Snake, you thwarted Big Boss twice. Destroyed three Metal Gears (Metal Gear D, REX, and RAY) then defeated the B&B Corps. You finally stopped Liquid, and resolved everything with Big Boss.

While I can't speak for others and because there's alot of game out there I haven't played, I'll just say my honest opinion about MGS4. This is hands down one of THE best games of all time, and I do not say that at all lightly. It's easily my favorite game, and the story brought me to tears just like Snake Eater did, it showed me a whole new side of the action genre of games like Sons of Liberty did (the first one I played), and it proved games can be so much more like the first did. My fav game

Soy un Argentino que jugo toda la saga de este juego..... y admito que, despues de tanto años jugando este juego... todos sus juegos, admito que cuando termino el MGS4 en 2008, llore.... xD por mas estupido que suene llorar por un videojuego, bueno, ok, pero este juego es demaciado emosionante......... y sobre todo me pongo " mal " cuando escucho esta cancion..... este juego ya no se va a llamar Metal Gear Solid..... se va a llamar Metal Gear.... i never played all 4 of the metal gear solids i have only played guns of the patriots but through my life ive watched my brothers play metal gear solid and ive followed the story line through from metal gear solid 1 through to guns of the patriots.

@ContortedWhisk Yeah I know what you mean. When you beat most games these days, the experience is a bit of a let down. More of a "Meh... well thats over." But when you beat MGS4 theres this feeling that youve finally arrived at the end of an epic journey that you and snake took together. Especially for fans that have been going through each of the games in the series it was the culmination of over a decade of gaming.

@tobs001 Yes, finishing MGS4 has been the single most satisfying experience I've ever had with a game. I guess it comes down to the fact that one really knows the characters through the story, there is an emotional investment. Oh, and one shouldn't forget to mention it's one hell of a game to play!

@tobs001 Here's an interesting fact: in 6 years time, if Kojima keeps releasing what happened in between games, it will have been 3 decades for some people. Thats right, MG is almost 25 years old... and still its by far the series that I've been most into of all the games I've played... and thats a lot.

Hey guys. I just wanted to tell you that Nicola and Bart were two people who were executed in 1927 for murdering 2 people in a armed robbery. There is dispute about their innocence that still is being debated to this day. This song was put in the ending to tell us to remember the Boss and Big Boss, two people who were wrongfully accused of being traitors and objectified as terrorists by the government when they were actually trying to make the world a better place.

You know, I'd done a little research into this song prior to checking this individual video out... but hearing it put like that, it makes much more sense, two men who were mere pawns... their use finally over, to incite their purpose... made examples of so that future generations couldn't gather the courage to break free from oppression.

@wildki11er actually, no. in Kojima's original ending, he had Snake and Otacon tried and executed for war crimes. the KojiPro team all hated the ending and they re-wrote it. that's why Kojima used this song in the credits.
