Really great film. Rufus Sewell, Jennifer Connelly, Kiefer Sutherland, William Hurt were great. The 90's had so many overlooked & underrated SCI-FI films - this one, FutureSport, The Time Shifters, Virtuosity, Tha Lawnmower Man, Alien 3, Space Truckers, Strange Days, The Arrival, Mimic, The Apocalypse (1997), Virus, RoboCop 2, Them, Body Snatchers, eXistenZ, Sphere, Judge Dredd, Demolition Man, Anaconda, The Shadow Men etc
I saw this movie as a special screening VIA: WBCN Boston . I had no Idea what it was about all I knew was the movie was a freebie and my bud Chachi Loprete had me on the list . I liked it then and still watch it now & then.... I think a part 2 is a good idea !
love Mr. Hand. "Mr. Murdock, yes? Where is he? Sleep now"
"So it seems you've discovered your unplesant nature. We mght ask the same question, yes? Sleep Now.
"Dr. Schreber, most unfortunate it is that we were forced 2 seek u out here, U know how uncomfortable we find all this moisture. Failed to report in, yes?
"Carl. Uncle Carl. I have not seen you is so long, yes.
& Mr. Sleep. a little kid with a weapon in his hand chasing Murdock.
trailer got me hooked 2 this. first time i saw it i didnt understand it either. i still get confused at times but i love it its sci-fi/mystery. i'll never understand tho y if The Strangers can fly as seen in this trailer, y did they take the elevator at the beginning of the film? If they flew, they'd have gotten Murdock or at least c him. And in the scene where John first uses his tuning powers to kill Mr. Quick, how did The Strangers know what Murdock looks like if they never saw them>
This is a good movie, however you must interpret it correctly to like it, and unfortunately, many people don't. I hated it the first time I watched it because it seemed confusing, weird, and real messed up at some parts. But I watched it again and interpreted things more correctly, and I liked it. Though oddly, I watched the Director's Cut first and the theatrical second, so I guess I like the theatrical cut better because it is more paced...
@MovieGuy021: I disagree with you there. I think the directors cut is better paced and it doesn't spoil the premise at the opening. The theatrical cut has a weird pace where everything feels rushed in my opinion.
Every single second, but please take the directors cut. It's way better... Now watching when you posted this comment i think you've already watched it :D
It`s actually An Original Screenplay inspired by Metropolis & Invasion Of The Body Snatchers(The `50s Film) in atmosphere.Blade Runner was also an influence(another film inspired by Metropolis).
Just read that New Line/WB will be releasing an extended Director's Cut version for DVD & Blue-Ray in July! (In the US)Perhaps they'll finally be getting rid of that awful voiceover (that totally reveals whats going on)at the beginning of the movie??
Awesome trailer to an awesome movie! But i need to know does the music playing in this trailer have a name at all? or is it from a band? im just curious cause its soo good and very haunting i must add! ^_^

One of the best sci-fi films of all time, yet it remains strangely unknown.

This movie must be inspired from a sci-fi novel. Everything is just too damn perfect!
