  • So sad the WTC are now gone.

  • Just watch at the wtc, At evrey window someone died :-(

  • @cloned2 Not during the stunt.

  • did he die?

  • @cloned2 no . didn't you see the interview on the side.

  • Balls of Steel

  • llazzanoart sono daccordo con te

  • commovente per lo spirito di pura libertà ........e anche percnè le torri non ci sono più.

  • One of the two most amazing things to occur during my life....

  • That man is amazing. I have so much respect for him.

  • how did he get that rope there? And why is he arrested xD. I mean is there a law about that you can't walk on a rope while crossing the WTC.

  • @xEmilyMadison

The film and book explain all. I recommend both.

  • @xEmilyMadison

He shot a bow and arrow across the Twin Towers and had a friend pull the cable on the other end to secure the wire, and the reason why he was arrested was he did this illegally. He broke the law, but it was a beautiful crime, and it didn't hurt anyone unlike Al Qaeda on 9/11.

  • Non ci sono limiti, per lui, ma per me di sicuro..

  • nope never never never no matter how much not even for money that dude is a boss brave as hell!

  • really ? respect ! :D

  • at 2:36 did they take him to jail?!?!?!?!

  • @RandomVidz60 he got released as his balls were too big to fit in the police car

  • There are men who love and create art, and then there are idiots who hate and destroy. Crazy world.

  • damn ive been up there a long tiem ago and saw a picture of that guy who walked across the towers.. they also had pictures of construction workers having lunch on a steel beam with their feet dangling in mid air..

  • One of the bravest/daredevil of all time, too bad the cops didn't realize how extra-ordinary his was...but his friends told him that he spent 45 good mins on the wire.

"Yes, I might die. But dying during the exercise of your passion, what a wonderful death." Philippe Petit!

    Thanks from the South Pacific!

  • I hope the cops that arrested him that day realized that:

    a) this guy is very talented

    b) this guy has a LOT of balls

    c) This guy isn't hurting anyone.

  • This guy has a very large penis.

  • This guy is cheating. He's using a pole. I could do this. So could my housemate James.

  • @MrFreddyFeatures

if you could do it, why didn't you?

the fact that you think he's cheating for using a pole shows you know nothing, absolutely nothing, about tight rope walking. When you accomplish a tight rope feat even half as amazing as this, then MAYBE you can talk.

  • was he doing it for a show or what? coz u arent allowed to just walk over the twin towers coz if u fall u will probs land on someone lol :)

  • He survived the WTC bombings by tightrope

  • @TheMilune Thanks, from Germany ;)

  • saw this documentary today its awesome

  • The building wasn't completed then....cars/building equipment still on roof.

Just how did he get the wires between building?

  • @stellarworker

They shot an arrow across. He also had people with him, so they separated onto both buildings to help him.

  • Is he Dead ?? But i find it silly because He can Fall down and than is he Dead !!

  • @Jancuponk

No, he is still alive, thank for him ^^ And I don't find it silly because I watched the move-documentary "Man on Wire" (which is about this event, really good, a must see) there's a moment where he says something that I find very true. He says: "Yes, I might die. But dying during the exercise of your passion, what a wonderful death."

  • lol, omg, someone said it was fake..... LOOOOOSER!

  • Awesome!!!!!!!!!!

  • i would have thrown up everywhere if i did that LOL

  • The best!

  • fake!

  • @tunney101 its not fake :)

  • @tunney101 PHAIL!! YOU ARE RETARDED! this really happened 37 years ago. Ugh..

  • This is the most profound thing I have ever witnessed

  • Am i the first one to like this vid? I liked it for his bravery

  • Like to see him try it again.. :P

  • @M1nit0r idiot

  • @M1nit0r he could try it again cause the buildings are not there

  • Did he make it?

  • that was so cool but do you think his a mad idiot

  • Joe Rogan sent me!

  • Holy shit

  • only 161,130 wiews? the whole earth should watch this

  • this man encouraged so many people to make they're dreams come true that i can't even begin to express my respect for him he is my hero and I reallly know how he felt al litlle bit....

  • How beauteous mankind is! O brave new world, that has such people in't!

  • A wonderfull memory of the Word Trade Center...Philippe Petit's bravo and daring in achieving his triumph on top of WTC 1 and 2 is inspiring to witness..We will never forget 911

  • @MDProdTV i sure hop we dont forget 911..... how else will we call the police?

  • what a legend.

  • WATCH OUT FOR THE TWO PLANES !!

  • @ScottishCaledonian Wow... Thats hilarious you dick.

  • @ScottishCaledonian really you are sick, come on, people like you are the ones who fuck up this world.

  • @ScottishCaledonian

stupid fucking cunt. u deserve a good fucking beating u hearltess piece of shit

  • The architect of the towers is Minoru Yamasaki. The 'fishbone' concretedesign of the facades is almost Op-art. You hardly see it on photographs.

  • im surprised the rope didnt snap under the weight of his massive balls

  • @mrshizno91 Actually, Petit said he felt relieved once he stepped onto that rope.

  • @mrshizno91 Epic comment!!!

  • to bad 9/11 went down >_<

  • Y did the man cross the wire.

  • had there been a gust of wind...

  • @TheFilipinoBoxer just reading it sends a chill up my spine.

  • @TheFilipinoBoxer ~ Philippe was prepared for this. He practiced for months for this stunt in a field in France, and had his crew members shake the rope to simulate wind. I believe they also called it off on one occasion due to high winds. He also walked a wire strung between the two spires of Notre Dame cathedral in Paris, so this wasn't his first time out!

  • Where have I heard this music before? its sublime.

  • what an idiot. why would you do such a thing?

  • @stuartyy94 UR MOM

  • this movie is a scam, 1 hour of drama and footage of everything, the guy eating, fighting, travelling, but there is no damn footage of the guy walking between the fucking towers. WTF.

  • @SkullFilms If you actually watched the movie, you would know why there was no footage of "the guy" walking between the towers.

  • is he afraid of heights or something? i don't get it

  • The guy who did this. did he get arested for it??

  • @KashMan96

Yes he did, and was sentenced to do a free show for the children =D

  • @TheMilune Jeez, Don't have to be a bitch about it. 8D

  • There is no WHY......

  • Oh shit leg crampeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

  • whats that music?

  • @3bobry Gymnopedie No.1

  • one of a kind.

  • name of the song please???

  • @Lovrinho666 Gymnopedie No.1 ;D

  • @klsjafksjdfklsdfjkls

    thx man... =)

  • all America has is Evil Knievel, this guy has real balls and hes from France, oh also the man they call the human fly is also from France, oh the French Foreign legion is also French, one of the toughest and noble fighting forces ever, even tougher than the seals

  • awesome, and possibly the most insane documentary ever shown on TV! Don't try this at home ha ha

    Beautiful, thank you for sharing

  • balls, he has them

  • does anybody have the actual video

  • @sapy52

It was in 1974... No digital camera! But there's a testimony of one the policeman who arrested him made on the day he did that, and there's the testimonies of people who saw him.

  • @TheMilune ~ Well, Super 8 movie cameras were certainly available in 1974!

  • @SaintlyCitySue

Yeah, but it was certainly not as easy to bring in your handbad as our current digital camera! And nobody was aware that Petit would do that so...

  • @TheMilune ~ But certainly easier than lugging all this equipment to the top of the World Trade Towers! Philippe's crew was aware that he was doing this; they were there with him and were the ones taking these pictures. So I wonder why they didn't bring along a movie camera?

  • @SaintlyCitySue

One of his friend did, but he was afraid to shoot the death of his friend if all of this ended badly, which I can easily understand.

  • so if h feel he would have no safety?

  • what a nut

  • Does no one actually have a VIDEO of this... it is youtube after all

  • Man with the security changes after 9/11 nobody would have been able to get away with this.

  • I must have watched this film 100 times. I still can't believe he actually did this. It's beyond belief. beyond anything I can imagine.

  • @jeffcrapinthehead Me too!

  • whats the song?

  • @YeungyBassMasta

It's the first of the Trois Gymnopédies, composed by Erik Satie

  • @YeungyBassMasta the song is SATIE (Gymnopédie No.3 - Lent et Douloureux),but just search for SATIE.

  • Must've been windy up there..

  • @GyasaIsAnUglyDyke, yest the american government made sure nothing like this happen again to the Twin Towers.

  • this song sounds horrible sped up!!!! AHHHHHHH why would you do that

  • well the American government made sure nothing like this could happen again

  • Ok someone fucking hacked me and posted that Marines are panzies comment

so just to clear things up MARINES for life OOO FUCKING RAH!!

and 2-i wonder who will try this feat

  • An incredible adventure! The film shows a litte bit of the real experience, of course, but we appreciate every scene like a occular witness. This is an example that our limits are in our mind. Thanks Philippe.

  • shame he fell to his death and killed 3 tourists on the ground. Tragic story. RIP.

  • the video should be called: man on wire pictures

  • suicide nigga lmao rip twin towers

  • Am i the only one who thinks that this movie had a kinda sad ending? He never saw his GF again and also his friends... he got his 15min of fame but thats it... makes u kinda think if its worth it...

  • this dude has some balls!!

he makes United States Marines look like panzies!

  • @JordanSanders1991 now how in the fuck does that make U S Marines look like pansy's you ass? what the fuck does this have to do with U S Marines ??? then you might as well say he makes every swinging dick in the world look like a pansy. What the fuck does walking a high wire have to do with Marines ? i mean really? let me ask you this , has mr tippy toe wire walker ever entered a dark building at 2 am looking for insurgents? shove his buddies guts back inside them waiting for a medivac?

  • @SOUTHPAW731

and dude someone hacked my account -.- i havent been on for a while so whoever said that needs to look closer at some shit -.-

  • @JordanSanders1991 lets see mr ballerina costume wearer walk a 6 inch beam with a 50 lbs work belt of Spud wrenchs , drift pins a connecting bar and a bolt bag wearing friggin levi's and workboots that feel like lead or a 40 lb bolting up gun in one hand and no counter balance in the other and do 8 to 10 hours a day. oh and btw i guess then Rangers and Soldiers are pansys and Submariners and Seals and Pararescue cuz they dont walk on wires

  • and Ill tell you what you shit stain if a Marine had to get across that wire from one tower to another he would maybe he wouldnt walk the fucking thing like this guy did in a tutu with a balance pole but he sure as hell would monky fuck that thind and shimmy his ass across if he was told to. FUCKIN BET ON IT.

  • @SOUTHPAW731

um dude i never said marines would be scared to to this

If a marine was ordered to in order to save his life i FUCKING BET ON IT he would do it

  • @SOUTHPAW731

    Army is better

  • Okey, someone please explain to me how is that possible. I mean, the towers sway always in the wind, and not in the same pace I trust.

  • @jaska05 anything is possible

  • This is probably the most impossible thing made possible..... It is really unbelievable...... Great !

  • I would have peed my pants... Truly i would!

  • I'm so glad this happened. Some people chose to use these buildings for fear and destruction (not just physical destruction), where as Philippe used it for pure art and beauty, for no personal gain. Every time I think about how horrific 9 11 was, its strange that the same two buildings can restore my faith in humanity.

  • @13WillSullivan Moron in fact those who crushed the planes against the towers and killed themselves were even braver than this guy lol

  • @austere125rivers There's nothing brave about killing innocent people out of greed. It's not the pilots I hate, its the pricks that tell these misguided people that they get a fast track to the afterlife as VIPs, and use them as pawns in their game while they are too cowardly to do it themselves.

  • @austere125rivers Yeah it takes real bravery to fly a plane into a building. They did it as a means of mass murder and suicide, whereas Petit did what he did as a stunt- entertainment. Think before you say something, 'moron.'

  • @TMusic5 I was just trolling lol stupid moron.

  • @13WillSullivan How exactly is being stupid and reckless art? what if he fell and hit someone when he landed?

  • @NESHero Because he risked his life, and spent all his life working towards something which had no other purpose apart from beauty. Even if he died, like Philippe himself said, what a beautiful death.

  • It was a fix.. they had two guys on the ground holding a net to catch him in case he fell. Hardly dangerous...

  • @MrDenizen It is not a fix!!

This guy is amazing :) WOW! just watching this gives me the chills

  • @MrDenizen a net? but from that height a net would've been no good because of the speed and gravity?

  • omg minecraft music??

  • if i cant even look at it how would i walk across that freakin thing!!!!! i would die! i give it to him... wow thank you for showing me anything is possible

  • I m getting butterflies of fear watching this !!! One gust of wing and bye bye !!!!

  • wowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww this guy was not scared he walk on a wire and bettwen the the towers and they nock down

  • what song is this

  • They better put something in the 9/11 memorial about him

  • one brave person

  • Viewed the film in it's entirety. Those were the days huh?

  • @dani9230 Thanks!(:

  • Im Afraid fo heights so i would be afraid to do that i mean really afraid

  • Isn't windy up there ?

  • There's something very artistic, visionary, beauty about this.

  • Does anyone know the name of the tune?

  • @DearVienna1 gymnopedie no. 1

  • @drumslayer321 You: An insecure, dim-witted , souless moron.

  • @drumslayer321 what was his comment?

  • Imagine Phillipe Petit was walking on the wire on tuesday 11 september 2001 at 8.46 am.

  • @irsgolap Not funny

  • What he did was amazing. 0:10 I wish I didn't have the fear and the opportunity to sit on the top of the world like him

  • Saw the film and was so impressed with the dream and its execution. Ironic and touching that the Twin Towers are gone but his amazing, self-funded, low-key, under-the-radar feat still lives on. It expresses all the very best about humanity; qualities that terrorists cannot destroy.

  • Comment removed

  • My only thought about why he did it would be to quote a famous mountaineer. "Because they are there"

  • And to think they're not there anymore.

  • Happy buildings for a fantastic building and sad ending.

  • stupid stupid just stupid

  • @FUNFUNFUN781 who you?FOR SURE.

  • This man is inspirational, stupid, but inspirational. Love him.
