I think this is just a nice little toy for DJ's who are really making money with their profession and want to do some mix previewing in the car, train, plane.

They would be the only ones that could afford it. But on the other hand, they would be the only ones that DON'T need it since they would already use a laptop and their harddrive/cd's.

If you play vinyl both above mentioned don't apply and you should always take 2 Vestax Handytrax :P

There is a reason why DJs opted for the 12" vinyls and not the smaller ones. There is a reason why CDJs are rather large. You need to be able to hold both songs in your hands (both hands) and not have convoluted access to the mid's, lo's, hi's, and gains, pitch bending, etc. Just my 2 cents on the design of this product.

A beginner can get more out of software on a laptop than this. IF this device has pitch bending on the incoming track and a cue point that you can easily jump back to, and juggle the starting beat, and all those are very well responsive and you can control the incoming and outgoing mid's lo's hi's and gain simultaneously then it would be a great product. So are they really selling a toy for $600 ? I mean cant they just make a software program + hardware plugin for the iPod touch?

I'm not sure if it has all those features, but I've looked for a ipodtouch prog.that has similar features but it's only limited to .wav and is very buggy, not to mention hardware problems like no lineout +headphone jack. You do have a point though - the pacemaker is very expensive. the 60 gig version is running around $500 which is out of reach for most people. I'm waiting for it to be around 300 range (and comparable to ipod) b4 getting my hands on this,and hopefully better software support.

it has some of those features shes probably just too thick to use it but you cant work the EQ's at the same time they are working on that for their next firmware update and to be honest its not really that expensive im 17 and i can afford it on my own so everyone quit whinging its not designed for professionals really just for fun and house parties etc although a couple of pros have done sets using it and a wireless transmitter so they can get in amongst the crowd
