proper man! My friend and I skated from Colorado to Caifornia without any money. I have quie a bit of footage, I have yet to put it on the computer. Did you camp the whole time? Did many people help you out along the way? My whole trip, people were astounded that my friend and I were skating down the side of the highway with huge backpacks and normal street boards with big wheels, The destination was calfornia, but the trip there was the most amazing experience.
@TheOmiMax Great to hear about another great trip! Let me know when you get some footage of your trip on the web! I did camp most of the way across the US, although in China I stayed a lot at really cheap inns (like about US$2 or $3 a night). And I found that people were really hospitable in the US; over half of the nights I was there in the US I was staying at strangers' places!
Awesome. It's nice to see the pusher sans fenders. I am still waiting for mine to arrive. I have a drop pin from LBL I have been riding for the last year, but now I want to go lower!
How do you handle the uphills? I haven't seen every video of yours yet, but most show you cruising downhill or on leisurely flats. With the trailer, it must be really hard!
Wow, what you're doing is awesome!! Keep it up! I'm from HK, where are you heading to right now?? and good choice on the music. Ulrich Schnauss all the way =].
Longboard Larry made the wheel covers for me. They are handy when it's wet, but they are certainly still prototypes. There is some tweaking to be done on those. Yes, they are carbon fibre.
I push 100% of the time. My current board setup is not the best for pumping. My next trip, I will look at better pumping setups, as pumping on the flat and slight downhills is of course more efficient than pushing.
For tips, see the articles I wrote on Skatefurther (website address at the end of the video). They are under the 'Rider Posts' section on the top menu.
That is a good question. I think the answer is no. I never get bored. The physical challenge of skating so far each day keeps my mind tuned in. Plus, I am always thinking about what I am doing; balancing, avoiding stones, keeping aware of traffic, checking out the scenery...no time to get bored!
he probably got really good at switch pushing

@miketwenty1 - Switch pushing is a really helpful skill to have. Also switch foot-braking; that helps keep the wear on your shoes down!

how do you get the angle down on 1:27 - 1:28?
jakub426 3 years ago
@jakub426 I attached my camera to the trailer using elastic shock-cords. Not so good for the camera.

The uphills are tough going, but no slower than cycling up a hill with a fully loaded bicycle.

Do you pump or push?
Any tips for mega long distances?
