  • amm in a fat cat with 500 gallons what will be the best engine for work ..the walter turbine, the PT6 or the garret turbine conversion,im interesting in one,..its a sheaper aircraft than the thrush aircraft and air tractors so...its good to get work done

  • Nice seeing this A-cat in the turns, but what's up with the strip-club music in the background?

  • Strip club? That's techno....and heard in many more places than strip clubs. Maybe that's the only place YOU hear it! LOL! :-)

  • This is a Grumman Ag-Cat rebuilt by Hershey's to Super B specs. Fuselage is 14 inches wider allowing the fitting of a 500 gallon hopper. Raised wing and Centre Line Fin & Rudder. During rebuild aircraft had P & W R1340 radial engine removed & Walter E11 Turbine Engine of 750HP installed. Aircraft is used in New Zealand for spraying Thistles in Winter months and crops (Potatoes,Wheat,Squash etc)in the Autumn and Summer months.

  • Excellent! Thank you.:-)

  • So this is a fatcat? I have heard the performance suffers when you widen the fuselage?

  • Yes this is a Hershey Fatcat. The secret seems to be the 106 inch 3 bladed Avia Prop, a big improvement over the 102 inch Avia & a vast increase over our original 5 blade 96 inch prop. The advantage of Hershey conversion is hopper capacity to 500 gallon.Good for flow of fertilizer & allows the fitting of 41 inch hopper gate. Also the small original cockpit is now acceptable being some 10 inches wider.

  • I just bought a totally rebuilt Walter Turbine Super "B" Agcat that I will be spraying with this summer in America. This has the same engine as the plane in this video. However I am not sure if this is a Super "B", but I think it is. This is the ultimate spray plane.

  • The turbine cats fly sweet, I've got a little over 1,000 hrs in radial ag cats, and 35 hrs in the turbine cat. Sweet ride!

  • Certainly looks like fun from the ground. :-)

  • Cool ftg

  • "ftg" ???? :-)

  • footage :)

  • I hope he/she didn't drop any of that stuff onto you. Pretty good job following the plane around.

  • No problems. There was virtually no wind and the area being sprayed / dressed was behind those tall macrocarpa trees.
