Love Tommy Shaw. While I enjoy his rocker side, he is sure at home on the Grand Ole Opry. If you are watching and haven't picked up his new CD, The Great Divide, your missing out on a fantastic CD.
I don't care much for the song, but I've been a fan of Tommy since I was a kid. It's a gutsy thing for him to pull this off and ya gotta respect him for it. He definately has the potential to do the country thing.
At least Tommy and I have finally found one thing musically I can do better than he - pick and sing bluegrass! That is two things, I never said I could count very good!
I love Tommy Shaw and Styx - esp original config with de Young. However, I an't gettin' that high lonesome sound from Shaw. He is extremely talented, just not sure he and bluegrass will stayed married for long. At the very least tho he can give bluegrass some attention, so maybe we can get more of it one radio.... Bury the hacket with Denis, he is always willing, and get your butts back on stage as real Styx!!!
Estimated friend, if you want to listen again this song and an endless number of successes of the love I suggest you to visit Radio MUSICA PARA MIMOS - looks for his direction URL in Google ( search Musica para Mimos in Google)-. best romantic music of all the times in Internet, is great, is very good ...!!!
If it's this or new Styx material, I'd rather see more bluegrass. Long time (30+ years) fan and I think this is great. Return to your roots, dude...long overdue. The current lineup of Styx is only a shadow of its former self.
For a guy like Tommy who grew up in the Tennessee Valley this must have been huge! Congrats Tommy Shaw on the new record and for making it to the Grand Ole Opry.
Shame, shame, shame, leave Tommy alone please, he is a gifted musician who has created many memorable tunes. The Great Divide is a brilliant compilation of fun, poignant, touching songs, not to mention the collaboration of talent that worked with Mr Shaw. People who make negative remarks seem small minded to me. Why not celebrate this beautiful man and his music, and appreciate it all for what it is...MUSIC!!!
@marthasasinoski Yeah he is a gifted artist, one of my faves! He has also only released 1 album of original material in about 10 years! Last 2 styx recordings were covers, last shaw blades,,,,covers, and a bunch of rehashed styx greatest hits live albums, like really get together man, you can only coast so much before the natives get restless! Not hating just saying!
I don't know tommy, don't quit the day job buddy, and how about a new styx album....I'm not paying you guys again for a live show unless there is a new album and not just rerecorded stuff....like an actual real album, remember those!
@TracyBeth87@TracyBeth87 you're right it is my oppinion and i find it sad the Opry has a Hank impersonator outside and wont reinstate him but yet they have this twink on stage....the Opry has sinned!!!!
Tommy, I love the video and want you to know you are the beginning of my bluegrass collection. I love the CD and pray that you had an awesome time making it. Please take care and may God bless you and your family. I'm looking forward to your next project.
How's he gonna fit all that hair under a cowboy hat? Dennis DeYoung might disagree on who the lead singer was/is, heh. Yeah, the volume's kinda low on this one. He's singin' great, but seems a little nervous, here, for a guy who's played thousands of rock shows.

He looks good, but I can't hear him! I can only assume the Grand Ole Opry doesn't like Tommy Shaw.

A vegetarian on the Opry, now I have seen it all....I didn't like him in STYX and he sure as hell don't belong on the Opry....Reinstate Hank Sr!!!!!

@MrNightrain09 That's your opinion... Besides, I'm afraid that Hank Williams Sr. isn't doing too many performances from the afterlfe...

@xAlexKiblerx Obviously we're getting the sound straight from the sound board. Makes for fantastic audio, you just can't hear the audience.
