  • I just found it on someone else's channel...how come they haven't muted that one?

  • They randomly pick videos on Youtube to show music industry they are working on solving copyrights issues I guess.

That´s a shame that potential fans can´t get to know the band properly since this video has a very bad sound and image quality I don´t see any harm releasing the audio.

  • I see...it's too bad. Thx for answering. Maybe they should concentrate more on people abusing YouTube, you know the crap that people can put on here, rather than an innocent video of Ambrosia...my Lord! Are you listening YouTube?

  • youtube is gettin very gay now copyrighting everyone's vid, they did this to 3 of mine, its stupid

  • Indeed. Where else people could find rarities like that. Also it would be an opening gates for beginners to get to know the 80´s at its best.

  • like everyone here going to your nearest record store to buy it now. Fuckem

  • AAAA++++ ADDED TO MY FAVS

  • I love it! Thanks Jane for sharing this one!!

You know where it is going?

    ~BJ~ =)

  • I love this group . This is real music, takes me back to High school at Keough in Baltimore, Md

  • Awesome song!! I remember it so well. Sure beats the crap on the radio today. I hate all that hump bump, grungy garbage.

  • Yeah this song just flows like a river. Da bomb for sure.

  • This is such a great song.

  • this is a great song love it. so smooth just flowing goodness. rock on.

  • Real musicians and real music. ah, a breath of fresh air!

  • this band, steely dan, doobie brothers, and the little river band all had a very smooth sound, and excellent vocals. may their music live forever!!!

  • stevo642007, I agree with you. I saw Steely Dan in concert in 2006 with Michael Mcdonald.

  • Yes,I totally agree.I grew up music like this and really miss it.Music just isnt as good as it was then.

  • feel u on the doobie vibe. Takes me back to after school seeing Merv. Hadn't even hit my teens but it was how it was.

  • these guys had a very "doobie brothers" feel in this song ! Great music !

  • torrell in dallas tx this was sweet love, even for a virgin, now im forty fore and still love it but love is harder to come by now days.. Thanks for the memories Anbrosia

  • I remember warm summer nights with my boyfriend not a care in the world, This song brings back so many memories the seventies/ eightes were the greatest time to be young!!!

  • yep i agree i was not a teen yet but as i grow up in the 80s i too enjoy these songs i sometimes remis about the pass and see how much the world has change the music the people and u know i truly believe that the songs are part of the reason people have change in the world the rap crap and so on

  • Do you remember this song back in the days when I knew that I was quite innocent kid?

    oldschool fun days.

  • A great song that I have never gotten tired of. This was also way ahead of my time but I don't anyone who doesn't like this song. Ironic because I read that the critics thought this song and album were not that good when it was released in 1980. Only problem I have is that this was during the time when groups still lip-synced their way through performances. Play live peoples, we can tell which version is live and which is Memorex.

  • Yeah, really...though if you look elsewhere on YT, there's actually a clip of their live peformance of this song from the Midnight Special (one great thing about that show is the performances were ALWAYS live!).

  • This song was a little before my time...well actually a lot before my time but still its a great song David hit those high notes perfectly an he still does to this day. Its just a wonderfull song from a wonderful era in time an i was there where more songs like it today.

  • this song's so uplifting. love heals. it's a spiritual experience. thanks for posting!

  • 2:26!!! Love the sax, and the vocal by David... So moving, and brings even more life to this great timeless song, that I have been listening to for years. When I sing this part I feel like I am walking on the warm sand by the ocean... Just a feel good song!

  • There's something about songs like this... Player's "Baby Come Back", Christopher Cross's "Arthur's Theme", and other late-70s/early 80s soft rock songs... that make one just kind of lean back, close your eyes, and just let out a big sigh, knowing that for the next 4-5 minutes, the world has no cares, no troubles, and everything is back to that childhood time of innocence and non-worry. It was a great time to be alive, then, something I think kids today can't appreciate.

  • I grew up on this music.Sure, it's kinda wussy elevator music but it will have a sweet spot in my heart for being part of my cradle music. There's quite a few songs, like "What a Fool Believes", "Just the Way You Are", "Longer", and "65 Love Affair" seem to remind me of when the song makes me remember what music meant to me as a kid. My tastes are different now, but these will always make me remember a time when I knew nothing about sadness or fear.

  • I totally agree. I can just close my eyes, listen, and forget about my shrinking 401(k) account...bailouts...job losses...etc. My taste in music has changed too over the years, but what a great time the 70's and early 80's were. What a great evening this has been listening to music from my past. Thanks for the post.

  • YES!!! you are so right the songs of the late 70s early 80s are the best, and I am sooo glad that I grew up in that era... It just makes it that more special! Makes me happy!

  • I remembered Brian McKnight sang this song; I had feeling he was doing a remake. Last year, it was first time hearing the orginial. I really like this song! Is Ambrosia a one-hit wonder group?

  • Absolutely Not! Ambrosia had hits with Holdin On To Yesterday, How Much I Feel, You're The Only Woman, Biggest Part Of Me, Magical Mystery Tour, and Nice Nice Very Nice!

  • Do some research and find out this group had more than a few hits.

  • that was the group take 6,a gospel group his brother is in,check it out on youtube

  • Father4life, you're right was Take 6! I do remember Brian's older brother is in the group. I'll check it out on here. Thanks.

  • awesome song!!!!!

  • I love this song

  • Thanks to guys like Merv Griffin and Mike Douglas, great tunes and great bands were shared with our parents back in these days. These guys were awesome, thanks so much for posting this! :D

  • Believe! Faith. Music HEALS

YES YOU CAN. NO Silence... MUSIC/SING Psalms 33

    Miracles Happen Very Often

  • I was little when this came out, but I do remember it and the good memories that come from it.

  • best music is more than 20 years old - will go on

  • God what memories.

  • there version is such a classic, i remember tuning into am radio in the 70s, and this , played all the time , good time and place in my life

  • mine too. Laying on the beach in the summer, no worries, a part-time summer job, a full-time boyfriend!

  • Too bad that's a recording. I love these old videos/songs, but who wants to watch them act like they're playing it?

  • Check out the Killer Live version here on You Tube from the Midnight Special from June 1980!!

  • Like every music video now you mean?

  • David Pack has one of the most incredible natural (transitional) falsettos I've ever heard (not talking about that falsetto at the end there, which is by no means stellar).

His overall voice is great -- really something special. And this is a very nice song. Love hearing it repeatedly.

  • Quincy Jones favorite song.........

  • really? that's cool.

  • I love this version more than Take 6's

  • LOVED IT!....THANKS.

  • They don't make 'em like this anymore. Great post, great song!

  • R.I.P Merv Griffin.

  • This is & still a very beautiful song, have this on the best of Ambrosia CD. They had some Soul in them like the group Chicago.

  • This is GREAT!

  • I think that is was done live on Mke douglas show, but that's just my opinion. I like it either way. It's a great song. I say don't knock it!

  • It was the Merv Griffin Show....

  • No-one can ever, ever appreciate just how much this song means to me! David Pack is a musical and lyrical genius!

  • Especially for someone who is tone deaf!! Amamzing!

  • David Pack is NOT tone deaf! He has limited hearing in one ear.

  • That makes him even more of a musical prodigy!

  • He lost the hearing during the recording of the "Life Beyond LA" LP circa 1977/78

  • antena1

  • Ambrosia also means The food of the Gods, thought to confer immortality!

  • roethlisburgers dad that is

  • Do you think they actually played on the Merv Griffin show? Or was it like a Britney Spears thing with the track playing and a whole lot of lip syncing going on. This sounds too clean to be live. I could be wrong.

  • This is a lip sync, but see the Killer Live version from the Midnight Special that is actually better than the studio version.

  • seriously this is one of the greats!!!!

  • Is the singer Ben Roethlisbergers father?

  • don't know about Ben R. but it's David Pack singing greetings j.

  • I just fell off my chair laughin man

  • just fell out my chair! gotta be

  • I love these uys in the 70's, cute, good tunes, catchy. Just wish I could find a video of them singing my fav ong of theirs, Holdin' on to yesterday. Cool video, thanks

  • ambrosia...one of my favorite groups of anytime..amazing harmonies!

  • Just some tidbits for those that don't know Ambrosia:

    1) This song is not representative of their body of work. I love the song - don't get me wrong, but they were a very progressive band. You'll find collaborations with such diverse people as Alan Parsons, Leonard Bernstein, Kurt Vonnegut, Jr, etc.

    2) I don't agree with his politics, but he actually produced the music for Clinton's inauguration.

To start, look for a "Best of Ambrosia" CD. Its a great compliation.

  • fantastic band. Fantastic selection. Nice call!

  • greatest kiss-off song EVER!!!

  • David Pack is awesome..

  • you gotta love the 80's.. timeless music.. romantic, jazzy beat.. i love it

  • Great stuff from two decades ago...

  • Are these guy s from Philly?

  • whoa- easy listening at its best. ambrosia did it sweet#@@@@@@

  • Great song. Wow. Pack is Christian now.

See Pastor Rick Warren's PEACE PLAN. Saddleback Church

Great Voice huh? His HS Teacher said DROP singing.

He Didn't - Thank God ! Be Well All

  • Great song! I remember this song growing up in the 1980's.

  • old skool soul music i love it!

  • It's a lip-sync, but they're still cute fellows.

  • Check out the Killer Live version here on you tube from the Midnight Special!

  • That's right, the Quincy Jones comment, in fact he once stated this is one of his all time favorite songs.

One of my favorite songs too, I'm driving everyone in my house crazy playing it. And David Pack's awfully sexy for a 70's guy.

  • ambrosia is a good group i think that is similar that toto

  • As a african american when we heard this song..ambrosia already had a "getto pass" Quincy jones said "one of greastest songs in History"

  • the vocals and the lyrics

    are beautiful

  • love bass goes with bass drum

    goes right through

  • very 80s!

one of the greatest 80s love song!

    so soothing..

  • This is a great song. All of their music is great. You don't hear music like this any more.

  • 80's love song Carla and Toby

  • I can't stop listening, I don't know why, yesterday I sang this song to the girl who likes me then she accepted to be my girl

  • I Love their rice pudding!!!!

  • HAHAHAHAHA!

  • I used to love skating to this song.

  • Sleazy song for sleazy players ... "How any chicks did u bang 2 nite playa??"

  • Do you know if they still sing?? I hope your answer is YESSSSSSSSSSSSS. I would go anywhere to see them. Thanks for this great video, TheGatesOf :)

  • absolutely wonderful!!

  • Há mais vídeo clips de Ambrosia? Quero mais!!

  • Infelizmente não tenho mais. Esse daí tava perdido no meu HD. Legal que você tenha gostado : ).

  • I love this song and this guys voice

  • Very good very good arrangement... still alived today...

  • I can't stop listening to this excellent song! It really is so well crafted, from the really nice segue from verse to chorus to the well thought out lyrics. Topped with David Pack's great vocals this tune is now one of my all-time favourites.

I sing it everywhere: "ain't no use now...", lol

  • Awsome. This one and, even better, "How Much I Feel". Those guys knew how to pen a love song.

(Not that it's so important, but this is NOT a live rendering to the song. It's obviously a "playback", as we used to say back in the 70's and 80's.)

  • See the Killer Live version on You Tube of Biggest Part Of Me from Midnight Special!!

  • Just went there to see: they were really good playing live ! Excellent performance. Thanks for the tip.

  • ONe of the Nicest songs from that Era!!!

  • Great song, timeless love song.

  • The good ole days!

  • I am in love with this song. This brings back alot of memories.

  • Great song. Awesome vocals all around. David Pack...incredible voice!

  • Good old music ...

  • These guys are great and unique, These were love songs. Today it is mostly "Bitch and hoe." That's rapp crape. I don't think all wrap is bad, some of it tells a story that should teach a lesson, if you care to learn. But the guys can't be beat. Where is the other who sang "Thats how I feel" I don't know his name, but he sure is sexy. Does anybody know anything about him.

  • Wow i wish I had a cute guy to sing this song to me!....

  • songs like this make me think of good times, runnin' around with my best friend beside me.

  • Cool Music!!!

  • a good memory...

  • I hav'nt heard this song in such a long while - This diamond has certainly not lost its sparkle :-)

  • Very underrated group in the 70's that got lumped into that one hit wonder shit and pop shit. Lot of chord changes and lot of jazz-prog stuff going on there in their music!

  • Main man can sing his ass off....Random but he looks like Hacksaw Jim Duggan

  • i think steve vai should play the guitar in this band yo!

  • bring back ambrosia the crap these days isn't even really music WTF are they tr'n to do?

  • this would have been great if it wasn't liped sinc.

  • Who cares. You still know it's him singing. And man can this guy sing!!

  • It would be FUN if Ambrosia, Robbie Dupree, Player, Little River Band, & Bread got together, and did a show!!!!

  • He has such a good voice!

  • That Fender Rhodes piano surely sounded great. Thank God I got a chance to live thru this era of incredible music everywhere.

  • Ambrosia made some great music!

  • Love this song

  • THESE SONGS WILL LIVE FOREVER

  • I do wish music like this was still made today. It's so beautiful.

    David Pack's voice is incredible.

  • I agree with you shawnperine - all the years I'd heard this song and "How Much I Feel" played on the radio, I thought they were black.

    What a soulful group!

  • i love this song! ive been singing it in my head for the past three days now,lol

  • This song is just classic. And as a kid I always thought David Pack was black- his voice is incredible. Hey Sierra- Your dad was part of something great.

  • guess what?!!!! im the drummer's daughter sierra drummond

  • ah?

  • SO COOL!!! Just wanted to say hi. HI!!!

  • Always liked your Dad. Thought he was under rated. Love the work he did with Tin Drum.

  • Are they all married? how about kids?

  • I agree the 60's-80's were the best!! Funny to hear them now referred to as 'oldie goldies'. It was asked "What do the kids have day?" Easy....the re-makes of the music we grew up with. My daughter will ask me to listen to a song by one of her 'favorite' singers, and I have to laugh sometimes. Then tell her it's not 'new', it came out when I was in high school!! I get the last laugh!

  • BUTTERS

  • Got right into this over my first real girlfriend - what memories Dorothy!!

  • great music for "FUCKING"

  • LOL, Nooo...Making lurve!

  • 60's to 80's music was the best, now what do the kids have? To be fair the 40's and 50's the sounds weren't too bad either.

  • Great song, it was played at my wedding almost 2 years ago. If you like this song check out my favorites.

  • What a great song! Brings back fond memories of the late 70s/early 80s! Thanks for this post!

  • Remember when back in the '70's it didn't matter if the band was black or white? Funk was funk! As long as it stunk! =) Good 'ole blue-eyed soul!

  • Beautiful song, beautifully sung! I don't know if it's about his faith or not? When I hear it I pretend he's singing it to me:-)

  • He sand this song at church a few weeks ago. He is amazing.

  • Oh yeah, he's lip syncing....duh..it is the exact version as the studio version....who cares if they were lip syncing anyway?...still a great love song!

  • GREAT BAND!

  • this more make-up porn music.

  • studiosinger your last post was stupid. You obviously lost a few gfs to lesbians lol..shut the fruckkkk up if you don't have a real comment

  • The late 70's were the best time of my life. I loved the music then as well as I do now. This song was definitely a part of me.

  • The way David is singing this especially at 4:15 you can tell he's talking about Jesus. It's not about a woman to him, because I think the original is SonRise about Jesus. So, I can tell in the delivery he's talking about the Lord. God bless you brother.

  • First, he's lip syncing. Second, he's not talking about a woman.

    Third, it's sun rise.

  • That is the most ridiculous, far-reaching comment I have ever read. I guess it must be acceptable to call Jesus "baby" in a song then...??? What??? Please! Why do over-the-top Christians have to read Jesus into everything? It is a simple, sweet love song written and sung to a WOMAN. Period.
