you can get a fully remastered WS DVD of this movie on amazon under the title "the seven doors of death" which I have, for about 2 dollars. it doesn't have any bonus features, but it is uncut, and features the sepia toned introduction.

Awesome scene. Fulci had a rap as just a mindless gorehound. But this scene is chock full of allegory and meaning for those willing to take a look.

Blind girl represents spiritual blindness of blonde girl fixing up the house. She is totally reliant on a dog(animal self). Her fears and dark side(represented by the zombies) are closing in on her. She is terrified by her dark side, refuses to accept it, and attacks it with her animal self. The finale? All the hatred from her animal self comes back to her and she is destroyed. Moral: dont be scared of your own fears and dark side, accept them.

I remember seeing this at a midnight showing at the Angelika here in NY. The crowd went nuts when she called out to the dog. We cheered Dickie on. Then of course everyone screamed at the end result. Ah, good times.
