See, God is with everyone, but a lot of people can't feel His presence 'cause they're focused on something else. It's not all that damaging to us if we are focused on a relationship w/ another human being, but what if that relationship is with an inanimate object like money or power or self image..... In that case, in the long run it's best that this kind of focus leads to misery and emptiness b/c it's these two states of mind that compell us to look to people, but more importantly, to God.
Beautiful song...yeah the lyrics may not seem beautiful when you read them...but if you get what it's about (which isn't hard) it makes you think about people you don't really pay much attention to...the people with sad lives that you tend to ignore, the homeless, the sick, the tired, the elderly in nursing homes, etc.
