  • Pazu is so REAL on that long walk back to his home. Both when he says "It doesn't matter now," and takes off running, and when he trips and drops the money, only to pick the coins up and try to throw them to the ground in anger... but he stops, and breaks into tears instead. So real! I love all of Mayazaki's characters... but Pazu's the best.

  • This song is great. Part of it sounded villainous due to Muska being with Sheeta. I want to cast Mark Hamill as Velenor for my future film, VX Super Force. He will do a wonderful job while returning to theatrical films (hopefully).

  • The villainous theme sounds awesome. This song is great.

  • Muska: Now the government wants me to uncover all of Laputa's secrets; for example, what's this fellow made of, metal or ceramics? With our limited technology, we have no idea. But he DOES tell us one thing...come and see. Oh, don't be afraid Sheeta, he's really quite dead you know!

  • @CaptainRaccoonWhitly wow, you remembered that good!

  • I could never watch this scene in the movie all the way through. Poor Pazu :( And Sheeta too, obviously.

  • @TheLadyYuki I cried the first time I saw this part. No lie. >_>

Darn Muska! He looks like Elton John's evil clone! He wanted Laputa a lot and he would do anything to get it.

  • @Tyronor I actually didn't pick up on Muska looking like Elton John; I was more amused at how he looked like Hamill only with glasses (which was why I really loved Hamill's voicing of the character), but now when I think of it, yeah, Elton John DOES have blond hair AND dark glasses. I wonder if Miyazaki was thinking of both when he designed this character....

Spotchecking the original Japanese version, I heard a very sparse "synthy" tone play this very motif. I think this reorchestrated version is more effective, plus it sounds less dated, too. Otherwise, the remainder of the cue is pretty much a very faithful translation of the original cue.

  • this scene made me sad when i watched it i used to watch this scene in particular over and over and over and over and over *continues until voice can no longer be heard*

  • Thankyou so much, I have been looking everywhere for more of the soundtrack of Laputa other than just The Collapse of Laputa. This has made my day, really thankyou ^^

  • AM NOM NOM TASTEE

this seems like it's from princess mononoke.
