I recently completed this game, without save states, fair and square. This is the second classic NG that I finished, now I must go for the III.

Man, the final level was just as the one of the first NG, extremely difficult and frustrating (especially for Jacquio, who returns with a very tricky fight as hard as the one of NG I). But the feeling after defeating all the bosses is PRICELESS,

Although I didn't like so much this ending compared to the one of the first NG.

@ThePooman101 The NES trilogy doesn't happen in chronological order, it's NGI, NGIII and NGII, the in-game cutscenes don't go deeper about this fact so only those who had the original cartriges manual knew about it back then, just google for more info, I believe there are some manual scans around which all of them came with expanded text of the plot on their respective games.

The only thing I wonder is that, what happened to Ryu's other assistant on this game named Robert where it's unknown whether Robert lived or died as he was battling some bad guys with his gun since Robert was never seen at the end here with Ryu and Irene and/or Ryu never mentioned anything about him to Irene. (Probably because he was more happy that he ended the war and Irene came back to life which distracted his mind). Irene also didn't mention that the bad guys kidnapped her from Robert.

Wow, this brings back some good memories!! I was never able to get passed the Jaquio in the first one, but got sweet revenge on his ass in this one. This is the best of the three in my opinion. I got so good I could beat it without dying. the third one wa o.k. but didn't have the story or the well drawn cinemas. This is how I will always remember Ninja Gaiden!!

The playstation 2 or 3 if not Xbox 360 should make a game containing the Ninja Gaiden series. Since it is still around with the recent release of Ninja gaiden Sigma or black i think its called.

I REALLY love this game! I had it a long time when my NES was still alive... and this game was REALLY hard. This ending reminds me the ending of The Adventures of Bayou Billy (a NES "Beat 'em all" game). Thanks for the upload (and sorry for my poor english).

The first time i beat this when i was a kid it made me cry when i thought Irene was dead.

As soon as Ryu said... nothing matters now that you're gone, i lost it. I got so caught up in the moment. Few games can actually make you cry but this one did. Great ending!

Yes, I felt the same way thinking Irene died. (I agree that a few games can make you cry. I cried with happiness at the end of the game "Little Nemo The Dream Master" and at the end of this "Ninja Gaiden II" game as soon as Irene came back to life). Yeah, I only got my NES system in 1992. It came with Tecmo World Wrestling, Double Dragon II & Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. I got other games from value village later on after 1995 for less than $2.
