Smart thinking on behalf of The Alabama Polytechnic Institute: get him out of there before he's exposed as being the mediocre coach who used Alabama's NCAA and coaching beleaguered downfall to achieve above average status. Outside of Alabama's worst years, he has an overall record of 35-33 and an SEC record of 16-32. Surely this isn't the "Mike Shula/Franchione/Price/Dubose coached Alabama team crippled by NCAA sanctions" he'd seen since 2000. Great move, cowards!
