Regardless, there are 1,370,000 non-endangered pilot whales in the northern oceans and the faroese kill 500 to 1,000 annually, about 0.1% of the population and the pilot whales reproduce at 2% annually. People eat meat, and this is a sustainable way to get it.
Perhaps you should focuss on other countries such as Iceland, Norway and Japan who have commercial whaling operations targeting endangered species of whales.

I'm confused about your stats as the species is listed on the threatened species list and is also considered Data Deficient - meaning exact numbers are not known. Where do your figures come from? I'm confused about your stats as the species is listed on the threatened species list and is also considered Data Deficient - meaning exact numbers are not known. Where do your figures come from? Dear Johannesen, I am appalled by the whale slaughter that takes place in the Faroes. 1000s of whales are lured into the shallows, where they become disoriented and are massacred. Hunters drive metal tools into the whales and use knives to dismember them, killing pregnant mothers and taking babies from their wombs. It's nothing short of savagery and must be stopped. The Inuits kill 50 to 60 Bowheads a year, BUT they weigh 70-80 tons on average, 110 max. 50 whales x 70 tons = 3,500 tons.
Pilot Whales are 2 tons average, 1,000 x 2 = 2,000 tons. HOW MANY PILOT WHALES WOULD THE INUITS HAVE TO KILL IF THEY HUNTED PILOT WHALES?

The Alskan Inuits also hunt caribou, foxes, arctic hare, seals, fish, narwhal and beluga whales. Faroese only have pilot whales, sheep and fish.

Learn them when they are kids cause children learn much faster. its all about learning and experience, and when we learn as kids it becomes normal.
Maybe this sounds strange, but i only know off this, i have never lived in a city with 100k people before, the town I live we are 600 people and we are only 48k-50k in the faroe island.
so there is a huge difference between us.

Yet, nobody cares. And is it ok from the Faroese not to kill them, but let whales having mercury inside their body?

They do not eat Human's but they can be dangerous because when you swim with them, they think that you are playing with them AND then they grab your leg and then your leg's falls off.

The poor whales are harassed to shore by motor boats then attacked by madmen who stick hooks in their lungs pull them ashore and start stabbing them to death! The only danger is one of the madmen stubbing a toe or twisting an ankle while jumping up and down in neck high bloody water!
