  • j'aime la version d'orquestre, masi j'adore cette reorquestation electronique , je pensque elle garde l'esprit de cette piece

  • Dr. Willy Space ship !!!!!!!!11

  • Thanks for posting-"A Living Painting of Music"-I wish the whole planet could hear this song-all at the same time-in "Waking Life", and in Dreams-"Keep the Dream Alive!"

  • Moi j'aime bien mais je le dit en Français !

  • This is a remarkable interpretation of Holst's music. Tomita has produced an amazing amount of depth and colour to this very subtle piece of music. No shortage of imagination in his scoring and arranging. Thank you vincentjacque for uploading.

  • Es una version bellamente ejecutado por este grande en la musica y tristemente tan poco conocido en el planeta más bello del universo la tierra. gracias al que nos hizo el favor de compartir esto. atte. Itzcoátl

  • awesome this guy is really cool

  • @sniperofdoom1

He's more than a cool guy. In Japan, everyone calls him "Tomita-San"...

  • @vincentjacque And what is even more amazing about him, is that this recordings were made back in the early 80's on the advent of the introduction of the sinthetyzer. And he used nothing else. I am a traditional when it comes to classical music but, I have to admit that music, when done with art, respect for the original composition, and heart felt need to share one's soul. Has to be recognized, honored and above all, be thankful for it.

  • @dualpoletech This was recorded in the 70's not the 80's, and the synthesizers of the day were monophonic...meaning that you could only play one note at a time. Tomita had do do countless multi-tracks to get srting, horn and other orchestrial sections. The talent needed to do this in his day was phenomonal.

  • @Keyboardman88 You are absolutely right keyboardman88...I worked for Peaches back in 1980 and I was introduced to Tomita by a coworker, the album was Snow Flakes Are Dancing, The Planets was recorded earlier as you said. I still have the original Audiophile virgin vinyl recording. I no longer have a turntable but for some reason decided to keep a few of my old vinyls....Thanks for the kind note of enlightment.

  • @dualpoletech I still have a bunch of old vinyls also. I do have a nice Technics turn table and speaker...and a Sony power amp. I should get it out of storage and start playing the vinyl again. Keep in touch.

    Rob

  • @Keyboardman88 Hey Rob, I had a technicis turntable too, my former sister in law (The landmark with a bad perm) stepped on it when I was moving out. I think she did it on purpose! I got somewhat of a revenge though. When she had bariatric surgery I sent her a whole cheese cake to the hospital with a die soon card LOL!!

Sorry for teh delay in acknowleging your note but I have been out of the loop. Cheers!!

  • I just love this.

  • I heard this on a video about the planets we had to watch, and I thought it was beautiful and amazing, along with the other Tomita planet pieces! I must get these on my iPod... =D
