  • Good post!

  • Don't know, myself, not being a scientist or a know all. All I see is information, some that I'm bombarded with and others that I search for...but when I see the knee jerk reactions from most of the people on here it tends to reinforce the scaremongering new religion media hype rubbish

  • spoonog.

Water vapour is our most significant greenhouse gas at 96% of atmosphere

  • Hello everyone I would like as many of you as possible , those for and against global warming hypothisis to answer the following questiion.

    Q. What is the most significant greenhouse gas on the planet earth.

    Thankyou

I look forward to hearing your answers.

  • @spoonog "What is the most significant greenhouse gas on the planet earth?" Water vapour, carbon dioxide, methane, depending on what you mean by significant.

  • So are you teaching the poor souls junk "science" and lies?

Teach them to think for themselves and also that sometimes teachers have agendas.

Got one in my family teaching kids to be vegetarian. Disgraceful

  • Oh dear, this really is a poor clip. My year 9 students would tear the sciece to pieces

  • Doh! Silly me; I thought melted ice was called water: it is not still ice so cannot "grow".

    Double "doh"

  • "The Antarctic Ice Sheet is GROWING".

I think you'll find this refers to the area of the ice sheet when viewed from above. As it melts, the area will grow. It's more to the point to look at the volume, not the area.....

  • You are apparently very non-informed.

The ice *volume* of the Greenland ice sheet, and the Antarctivc ice is substantially increasing at the moment! Read Wingham, Lennart Bengtsson and others.

Glacier ice do always expand, especially growing ice. Retreating ice doesn't calve.

The most stupid thing is that ppl watching calving ice are fooled that this mean retiring ice; it's actually the opposite! The climate fascists in WWF fools ppl.

  • tal1689,

Can you tell us why the world did not end when atmospheric CO2 was 12 times higher than present during the Late Ordovician Era? As you won't know, that was a deep Ice Age.

You also won't know that CO2 levels have been as high as 440 ppmv as recently as 1940 but the IPCC keep that quiet because it wrecks their claims. Do some research bro.

  • At a glance that doesn't appear to be entirely drastic, but if you consider pH is on a logarithmic scale (pH 9 is 100 times more alkaline than than pH 7)... The pH is predicted to decrease by a further 0.14 to 0.5 units by 2100. Organisms and ecosystems are adapted to live within an extremely narrow band of pH levels, so any small disruption will have a high effect. Also, the change in pH is not constant throughout the world, only an average. So some areas will be hit harder than others.

  • What you're not taking into account is that whether or not global warming is occurring because of rising C02 levels, high CO2 levels will have devastating effects on the environment.

For instance: CO2 dissolves in water to form carbonic acid, which results in acidification. Global Sea Surface pH levels were originally around 8.25 before the industrial revolution, and it is now about 8.15.

  • Coons the gullible moron.

Mains electricity cannot be stored other than in huge batteries which give about 15 minutes of power( Alaska Golden Valley Project)or by using it to pump water to high level lakes to power by hydro. Hugely innefficiant.

Antarctic Sea ice is 3 million square miles greater than last year. Warming huh? Idiot.

  • Wind power fuels over 10% of the German energy infrastructure. Wind power CAN be stored or run through the grid. The article cited about the ice sheet refers specifically to the East Antarctic.

I can understand being hesitant about global warming, but wind farms are a domestic, healthy addition to the American economy and energy mix. You're a cretin, Orinoco.

  • windpower crock,

    Bellamy rocks.

  • bellamy is insane!

  • mettamoron,

Wake up: no one is denying climate change. It is a natural and ongoing process which has occurred since we have had a climate. There is absolutely no proof that man is causing us to warm or cool. Why won't Gore accept the challenge to debate his junk videos with real climate scientists? He has no proof whatsoever to support his claims.

  • Energy conservation and efficiency are the keys. We waste far too much energy in our homes, offices and lifestyles generally. Any renewable energy, once built that doesn't emit more pollution or very little has to be embraced.

The empiricle evidence of climate change is incontrivertible and the immoralty of it is selfish and short-sighted of the'WEST'.

This video is submerged in selective perception and denial. If only I could put you nay sayers on your own planet to f**k up.

  • I have used wind power in remote location, very effective with proper battery storage, for energy efficient lifestyle in addition to solar panels. As far as large windfarms for commercial use, it's good business for G.E. but a mechanical nightmare. Now if we took all those titanium subs from both sides we could build some very nice tidal power stations. Let's get smart about this. Forget the global warming scam, but more power is good for everybody...

  • Colin340

How do you propose to make the wind blow to order.

  • i love when people who have no mechanical skills take a side in the energy debate the fact is there are some bugs but with time we can work them out

  • Energy in Brief 2006...shows that wind produced 1% of our energy in 2005. How many more wind farms will have to go up to make a significant input? And no nuclear power stations could close even then. Wind energy is the wrong way forward.

  • Windmills are also being made with raw materials if the enviros want to reduce emission how will building millions of these things going to help?

More mines for the copper, other metals, lead, cement, plastic ETC all things the enviros are against. Good Enough? :-)

  • I guess these things are made with sky hook technology No raw material..

Wrong this video expose the lies! Big difference.

  • Wilbert 1755.

Can you give an interpretation of your comment please. It makes no sense.

Metal4everman is correct as is the video.

  • Nice video, I agree with you but I'm sure you will get some man made global warming fascists come here and tell you that you are a denier and unless we all feel guilty and are taxed to death and buy energy bulbs now that we are destroying the earth with co2 etc etc

  • Refreshing to see the alternative view

  • Finally a video that speaks the truth

  • cool video it takes someone with guts to tell us the truth, (im here educating my five children the right way your way orinoco7).

  • this video lies

  • Please explain that meaningless remark.

    Thanks

  • But there again... even when he was sane most people thought david bellamy was a bit of a nutter.

  • Some may think David comes across as a tad colourful and he is absolutely correct on this issue.

  • People (voters) like to see wind turbines, nice big visible structures testament to something being 'done' I think it's called 'greenwash'.

  • Pay Gordon Brown another £5 on your flight, and he'll save the world.

I'm with you mate. Lots of 'suggestions', 'theories', 'ideas' - but not a shred of proof.

Yep, lets pay more taxes and conveniently forget millions of years of temperature variations. Lets forget about ice ages. ITS OUR FAULT!

    /sarcasm :)

  • Cool video Orinoco. You are very well informed sciencewise

  • Thankyou Tafia I had some excellent help from a clever friend who made sure that the comments were backed up with good science.
