  • Funny!!! this short made it to IMDB, thanks for sharing.

  • ROFL!!! LMAO!

  • Hussar, hussar! Such an improvement!

  • Bra-vo, bra-vo, I say.

  • Brilliant!

  • Terrific! So many great tie-ins to what made the show kind of ridiculous, including the stewardship of Fred Freiberger (the ultra disaster, capitalizing on his Star Trek connection, leading to his poisoning the chances for Space:1999 having a future).

  • Well done !!

  • This was my #1 show as a kid - but omg that was so funny!! Clever and spot-on!

  • 1911 button pwned by space 1899

  • Brilliant !

  • This Episode! Maya goes ape shit!

0:51 looks like Maya is have a bad dream?

I like the sets on this show it was so ahead of its time.

2:01 Maya has gone ape shit! LOL

And moon base Alpha lived happily ever after…

    That was great.

  • Great stuff! Thanks!

  • This is the coolest thing I've seen all year!

  • Awesome!! I love the Fred Freiberger joke! Extraordinarily well done! Bravo!

  • Hee, hee! Inspired!

  • There was a really interesting fantasy role playing game in the early 90s called Space 1899. It was set in an alternate reality in which Thomas Eddison invented anti gravity.

  • Where's Barry Morse?

  • @nidhavellir He was in the lab all this time, working on new formula.

  • What the hell! I thought this was for real :)

    lol

    It's awesome

  • Wonderful! It shows just how melodramatic Space 1999 was.

  • This is great! Nice dig at Fred.

  • Maya is on happy pills. Too funny

  • Not bad. It makes the crappy Season 2 stuff bearable.

  • you know what i never understood about silent movies. is if they could play music over the film, why not just have people talk over the lips also?

  • @ultradumbass

The music was played in the theater by a live piano player. It's only later that they added the music tracks to the movies. As for having the people talk over the lips. Some of the actors didn't have very good speaking voices and that's why quite a few never made it in movies once the talkies started. It was all about the face for silent movies.

  • @ultradumbass Timing, mostly - youd have to sync everything so the appropriate dialogue matched the appropriate lip movements. This is not so with music, where no syncing is necessary.

  • The effects aren't horribly bad enough.

  • Works surprisingly well as a silent movie, especially the Maya scenes...

  • Hoorah!

  • Brilliant!

  • The chase scene... ROFLMAO!

  • Nicely done!

  • Bravo!!! Maya looked like she was a silent movie veteran

  • I don't watch space 1999(yet). did they take an episode and turn it silent/b&w, or is this an original fan fic?

  • If you liked this, look up "Steam Trek."

  • Top marks for this, you're a genius

  • A most illuminating celestial voyage.

  • Awesome!!! Wish you had Barry Morse though. But I admit he's no Maya!

  • "Moon City Alpha has disappeared."

    "No sh*t, Sherlock!"

    That was funny!

  • THIS IS GREAT!! Especially the "Celestial Carriage"!! LOL

  • I swear I saw the Melies's ghost in this vid !

  • Very creative! Well done

  • Thanks for a good laugh. That very creative and funny.

  • The hardest part would had to be to find the Alien compatible computer...is hard enough to do here on Earth!!!

  • I love that dialogue!

"No shit, Sherlock"--I actually laughed out loud at that one.

  • Just loved it. What a novel idea! It's funny how S:99 can lend itself to virtually any audio theme lol

  • Fantastic! Laughed my ass off! You got the talent and then some! Genius!!

  • LOL! We really should watch more of this stuff on Youtube, yee-haw!

  • assai divertente

  • Well done

    Laughed my effing head off.

  • most interesting can you do the original tv mission imposible this way hmm!

  • Now this is what YouTube should be about, self-produced videos. The profanity could have been left out, and it would not have subtracted at all from the "laugh factor", and would have been more true to the silent film era, and to the original series Space 1999.

  • I agree with your sentiments, Tonyssongs. Still, it's pretty impressive and quite funny.

  • probably have to be a fan of silent movies, like I am also, to appreciate this one. Very funny, and entertaining, nailed the silent movie effects and timing of the same. Good one! Keep it up! Loved it! P.S. And of coarse, I also love Space 1999, in regular format, too!!

  • One of the best parody productions I have ever seen. There's so much on YouTube that is far superior to the dreck we get on regular TV. This was genius.

  • Top hole, simply spiffing!

  • 1:36 --beautiful!

    The Freiberger factor.

  • COOL!

Really well done - looking forward to the next show (next Saturday morning ?) Way funny as well....

    Keep up the great work

  • What is sad is how well a 40+min episode can be compressed into 3 minutes. And it's much better this way!

  • Okay, that's it: We're not worthy! We're not worthy! Especially since you smacked Freibrains, I mean Freiberger.

  • This is a wonderful video, very well done. I am a big fan of Space 1999 and just bought the 17 DVD 30th anniversary edition with all 48 episodes. Too bad this wasn't included with the bonuses cause it would have been an amazing extra.

  • Really, really funny (and clever). Bravo!

  • "John Koenig depresses the deccelematrix with great moxie."

    Huzzah!

  • A Magnificent Kinmatographic confabulation, MOST INVIGORATING!

  • Excellent. No shit, Sherlock.

  • Absolutely splendiforous!

  • ahahaha funny well done!!!

  • what to totaly spiffing clip.

  • Wow, great idea, very original!

  • This is Great! Excellent job!! can you make another? Would love to see a lost in space or star trek one! lol

  • Really excellent stuff here. 10 out of 10!

  • Brilliant - hooked on the Space 1999 remixes that are out there I am imagining a victorian string quartet attacking the main theme right now. Great work, great fun!

  • Brilliant!!

  • That was fantastic! I'm giving you a standing ovation!

  • Absolutely fantastic, still grinning.

  • i want the soundtrack, is this original or what is it from ?

  • It's made up of numerous different tracks from a CD of silent movie music. The CD is only available to people in the TV/radio/film business, it's not possible to buy it in shops.

  • @illconprods It is possible to buy though is it not. prohibitivly expensive for the amateur perhaps but not exclusive.

  • @illconprods

Please tell us the name of it anyway, as a used copy could turn up on eBay. To anyone who would like CDs with music similar to this, I would recommend ''Silent Film Music'' by Al Weber and a 6-CD set called ''The Golden Age of Silent Films''

  • LOL! You made my day! I'm still laughing to tears!!! :-D Brilliant work. Congratulations.

  • lol

  • I dig it man..what tool did you use to create this? Thank you

  • It was edited using Adobe Premiere 5.1, and the film scratches etc were created by a friend using a professional film-look plugin (I can't remember which one now).

  • Way more entertaining than the actual show !

  • Very good.

  • That's very good...better than the original. :D

  • Hilarious bit of parody from a show that did a good job of parodying itself. Apparently, Fred "the Show Killer" Freiberger* has a sense of humor. I admit it, I've loved this show since I watched it debut at age 5. It's always been this bizarre combination high and low production values. Beautifully built & crafted sets, often amazing sfx with wretched costumes & frequently bad writing. *(he'slammed by Leonard Nimoy in "I Am Spock" and by "Tribbles" writer David Gerrold in an ep commentary).

  • Excellent! I laugh every time I watch this!

  • I have had this in my "Favorites" for quite some time. I just wanted to let you know it's (the video) brilliant!

  • 1899! wow

  • loved it, thx. :)

  • Great idea brilliantly executed!

  • lunar swirlage....

  • Brilliant!!!

  • good old old old old times!

  • Simpsons Did It!

  • no shit, sherlock xDDD

  • That's just fucking A ! (compliment)

  • Whoever made this video is a genius!

  • A work of Brilliance!!!

I love all that old stuff.

  • That was pretty much every show.Backward science,monsters-nothing explained.

  • couldn't love this clip more!

  • What's more... their daughter was appeared in the first two seasons of Buffy The Vampire Slayer. You can totally tell who's kid she is!

  • Funny! Hillarious... Amusing, even. You know how some actors/actresses 'look' like they belond in a another era? That Maya chick totatlly belonged in B&W/Silent era films. Perfect in every way!

  • Ahahah Genius!

  • Comment removed

  • What a good idea !!!! LOL

  • EXCELLENT! Very funny indeed! LOL, ROTFLOL! Thanks

  • ROFLMAO!! That was hysterical!! Where on earth did you come up with this idea? It sort of reminded me vaguely of the Journey to the Moon film of 1902, or something. In particular, the silent-movie takeoffs and commentary on Season 2 scripts were absolutely brilliant...

  • Hilarious!

Although I have just one tiny nitpick... When Tony enthuses about that night's shenanigans, it looked like John was saying "Swee-eet!", rather than "Yes!"... That may have worked also...

But top marks and very entertaining...

    What else can be electrolumaluxographed?

Star Trek? Star Wars? SG-1? the list is endless...

  • I agree. I actually thought the card was going to say "sweet" as it looked like he said 'sweet'. But this is still hilarious even with that grievous error.

  • LOL! Well actually 1999's inspiration came in part from 2001 space Odissey which for the most part was a silent movie (not in b&w of course! :-)

  • very nice job

  • !Genius! I laughed my anti-grav boots off. The Maya sequences especially, I was just waiting for the legend during the exterior chase - "Maya, come back you mad hairy bitch" maybe in the sequel. Truely excellent, surley you work in the biz, if not you should.

Cheers for the laugh, I needed it!! Justin (UK)

  • fantastic, loving homage to my favorite Gerry Anderson extravaganza !!!!!!!!! Bravo!!

  • Great, great, great video!!!

  • HILARIOUS!!! Great video! (for the record- "Lunar Swirlage" has just been added to my vocabulary, also!) LMAO ;)

  • awesome clip, i just rolled about laughing, well done.

  • This was just too funny, and well done. So silent movieish, and Space 1999 had the worst special effects I'd ever seen. Great stuff!!!

    lol

  • If Space: 1999 had the worst special effect you've ever seen, you haven't lived long or seen much.

    Nevertheless, very well done video!

  • Enlighten me. What, in you opinion, is/was worse?

  • ROFLMFAO! Excellent work! I agree with mimovercast about "lunar swirlage"...it just sounds cool.

  • lunar swirlage is my new cuss phrase- say it with conviction, it's quite satisfying. (I teach, no conventional swearing in front of the tots)

  • hahahahha XD ...very well done, it's an excellent edition. it relly looks like a silent short of 1899!!!

  • Hey, I love Space 1999. That was brilliant. well done mate.

  • Ha ha.. Very nice done!!

  • That was fun! Great work!

  • that.. was... amazing. Evil, but still amazing :D

  • Really funny, and very well done. Congrats!

  • Very clever!!

  • "By the lost marbles of Freiberger!!!" Yeah, I know. He's the kiss of death for ANY show! Wonderful work, very funny stuff.

  • Oh brilliant! Please do one for Trek (TOS).

  • Curses...foiled again!

How could overlook THAT obvious cliche'?

    Masterfully done, good chap, what?

  • Splendid my good man, splendid.

  • A veritable commendable moving picture show sir make one wonder what life will be like in 1999 will we have talkies by then or even Laural & Hardy as space aliens or even Chaplin.

  • Georges Méliès just never knew what he would start!

  • As a kid, I joked what Space: 1899 would look like. To be honest, this is an improvement over the second season episode "Space Warp" (or "Lunar Swirlage", which is a much better title for this)

  • This is a veritable commendable effort kind sir. Put me in a right two an' eight of mirth and no mistake, beg your pardon guvna.

  • very well done. kudos to you, my good sir.

  • My "professional opinion"(?) is...bwahahahahaha! Very clever and silly. I love it!

  • one of the funniest

  • Excellent!

  • <My professional opinion is ............it was either rushed or not that that well thought out....... slow down.

  • So Kewel !

  • excellent work

  • That was a flippin' riot....Great work!

  • hahahaha!!! I cspluttered on my wine seeign this. very cleverly done and absolutely hurting my sides splitting with laughter!! Quick i need Dr Russell to treat me for too much mirth !! :):)

  • Brilliant!

  • If only the show had been that good. More please.

  • An improvement over the original second season

  • great adaptation. Sadly, it looks better as a remnant of the silent film days than it ever did as a 70s TV Show.

  • Haven't seen this since the convention - and it's still brilliant.

  • OMG, I just about peed myself right here at work (where I should be working, but hell, that's why we have YouTube, right?) Funniest thing I've heard since I got out of staff meeting.

  • brilliant

  • Funny shit. Well done. A fitting tribute to my least favourite episode of Space:1999. Sums up Fred Fryburger's accomplishments perfectly.

  • Funny! That show was a laugh to begin with, but this is even funnier!

  • ROFLMGDFAO-!-!

    My Cinescope is 'expanding'-! LOL

    Definitely,....SUBBED-!

  • Please keep me informed of any other electrolumaluxograph productions found on YouTube!

    Superb stuff.

  • I don't think I ever saw the episode, but just gotta say that this is an awesome adaptation :)

  • Steam Trek was better.

Those guys actually did all the props/FX.

Nice job here tho ! I'll give you a WAH )/---

  • Steam Trek goes on too long. The joke wears off pretty quickly. And I reckon this is funnier because it uses the original footage.

  • i should hate your guts for this but i laughed so much a little bit of wee came out.

  • And the award for funniest adaption of a sci fi classic goes to

  • Gadzooks, this is absolutely amazing: had me in tears! You're obviously a true fan of the show. Well done. More, if you please!

  • BRILLIANT!! Who would ever have thought that Space 1999 could have been made to look even more camp??!!! I loved it. Thanks for sharing.

  • Hey man, but how did you think that??? Wonderful work!

  • the best ever! man, did maya ever have bad pms...

  • Very good, very much enjoyed that. Steam powered Eagles? I wish...

  • That's excellent. Great work! And very funny too. What a great idea.

  • LMAO!!!...I have tears and stomach cramps form laughing so much...AWESOME job!!!

  • Funny...

  • Superb!

  • Utterly fantastic. You're what YouTube SHOULD be!

  • Loved it!

  • Alright! Who did this! Brilliant! PIMP (peed in my pants)...

  • brilliant..... more please

  • Classic.

This is what makes You Tube so cool, finding gems like this!

  • Beyond inspired. You must have played with "Space Brain" bubble bath as a little kid. ;-)

  • The world Genius comes to mind.

  • brilliant

  • Wonderful!

  • Great stuff
