Every where I turn I read people bashing Carolina Kostner. Where would you have placed her? Third? Forth? Twenty Eighth? Honestly, it's bogus. She is an accomplished skater, not a "jumping frog" or whatever. Let's not all go nuts here.
I absoluately agree Carolina is overvalued. In spite of her first 3-3-2 jump, her performance was not that good overall. Her sprial made people nervous and she touched the ice because of unbalance. She only did well on step sequence. Yukari should be bronze or silver medal instead.
haha. no. even us Yu-na fans agree Mao won this event! Her concentration was top class. In this clip, Dick Button kinda said "hey, why did Kostner get so many marks?" and I think he has a point.
I was actually in Japan instead of the States this month, so I really appreciate it. Dick mentioned it a bit, but from what I can fathom from forums and what not, he seemed quite irritated with the final placements...hehe...
FINALLY...I'm so glad Dick mentioned the inflated scores of Carolina Kostner! In all his years of being a commentator, he's seen the bias of European judges MANY times. It just goes to show that the new judging system can be just as flawed as the old one.
I absolutely agree...Carolina flailed all over the place. I don't care if she landed a 3-3-2, it doesn't make up for such a sloppy performance. Despite the wrapped foot, I think Yukari Nakano deserved that silver. The judges were unwilling to post an all-Asian podium, especially when the championships were being held in Sweden.

Kostner should get the gold metal.
Mao had a big crash. Mao performed like a small bouncing ball. Kostner was much better.

In 2007, they had an all Asian podium. Miki and Mao from Japan, Yuna from South Korea.

The judging system is definitely flawed if the judges are capable of getting away with such biased judging (because the scores are anonymous).

I agree fully as I have studied the NEW "CoP"
ISU scoring system.
