In reality there is never going to be a book 4 :( The creators Avatar are making a sequel called "Avatar: Legend of Korra" It takes place 70 years after the firelord was defeated. It supposed to come out in the fall of 2011 or 2012. Yeah I was also looking forward to book 4 :(

The new series is called 'The Legend Of Korra' and it will be airing in the spring of 2011.

@ITzRobinx Airbending will still exist - we don't know how many kids Aang&Katara had. (Plus, I heard a rumor that Tenzin has a family as well). What it comes down to is, the Avatar will be reincarnated through one of Aang's own descendants; and it's probably not the first time.

There are still many loose ends like :: was all the air benders actually destroyed or did many who sensed the danger go into hiding, will Zuko find his mother, Will Aang and Katara marry, and if the air benders are really dead then what will happen to the Avatar Cycle when it gets back to the air avatar after Aang is dead.

I also want a new season of Avatar. A time skip perhaps. Like what they did with the show Naruto. Maybe 2 years into the future. The show left so many blanks that we need to know. Where's Zukos mom, did Azula die when she was tied up in the final episode, for instance. Maybe even a new element.

There's no point in making Book 4 Air because the Air people are dead. If you noticed, Aang learned each element in each book. There's no reason for a fourth season to resolve the issue with Zuko's mother. She's clearly dead based on the way they ended it. If she were alive, we'd have seen her reunited with Zuko.
