once you fix up the age related factors with these old tractors like old dry gaskets and worn out parts from years or use, you really realize just how dependable these old tractors really are.
@1944johndeerel I think it will hold up for quite q few more years. Like you said, replace all the wear parts and seals/gaskets that dried up over the last 60 years. It doesn't leak more than many modern tractors now. Even though it only has 6 speeds, the lugging power at low rpm gives each gear a wide speed range for mowing in the summer too
@macandmall my old model "L" JD has some leaky gaskets in the rear end. but nothing thats serious at all. what really is unique to the horisontle 2 cyl is they spin such low rpms and have such heavy flywheels they have alot more usable torque than most of the competition did at the time.
