@kumar01234 you might want to do some more research on that. i'm pretty sure it does not cause emphysema (maybe if smoked marijuana chronically rolled in tobacco leaves/blunts/papers/etc.but that would be from the tobacco smoke, not from the marijuana) and it definitely doesn't cause schizophrenia. if you already have schizophrenia, marijuana may trigger some symptoms to come out earlier than they would have but there's no way it can give anyone schizophrenia if they didn't have it already.

@mdvd21 even if weed is legalized it is still up to businesses whether or not they'd want to hire a pothead. Though I'm totally on board with medical marijuana and even recreational use anyway. Rules also apply for driving under the influence but an acceptable levels in the body would have to be established probably by law enforcement and companies alike and that could get very very tricky to pull off.

@editdave I lived with a pot smoker for part of 2004 and have actually been out on the with that smoker driving. Nothing bad ever happened. I even smoked pot myself and actually the best one to smoke is the medical grade because believe it or not, you can still think and not be wasted. That smoker was my best friend and that is how he functioned while holding down a job and maintaining his own social life.
@editdave the life events I went through with my best friend taught me to be very tolerant of others around me who smoked pot. Actually in the last town I was in, my next door neighbors smoked pot and they were the coolest bunch I was proud to have known and shared a few barbecues with. I see your point in comparing alcohol to pot, however with pot I only trust very few sources should I choose to smoke it again and it would be for medical reasons.
@editdave I think this is why I'm learning to think beyond the failed two party system in politics and looking for actual candidates that might have smoked pot. I think it would be great to have potheads in DC that are more in touch vs. politicians which just abuse the system. Though we still have idiots in this country that just don't want to get on that same page so it might very well have to start at the state level or really there has to be a national movement.

It would seem that Willie Nelson was more accurate than Larry King.
It was not a 747 which slammed into the world trade towers.
We make fun of Willie, but Larry is absolved of his lack of accuracy.

LEGALIZE POT and most of the marijuana drug running and gang related drug sales in our country would cease to exist. LEGALIZE POT and the cartels around the world who overrun governments and murder people would be fighting to survive. LEGALIZE ALL DRUGS and the world would be a better place--i do not do drugs but i do realize that someone who takes drugs is not as innocent as the innocent person who is murdered because of drug cartel/gang's crimes.

Smoking some pot involves at the very least one person who chooses have that lifestyle just like how a person may choose the lifestyle of having a alcoholic drink with dinner. I have not heard a single person who was on the side of legalization of marijuana suggest that we do way with the justice system, simply a single law just like how we did away with many other laws.

@mdvd21 even if weed is legalized it is still up to businesses whether or not they'd want to hire a pothead. Though I'm totally on board with medical marijuana and even recreational use anyway. Rules also apply for driving under the influence but an acceptable levels in the body would have to be established probably by law enforcement and companies alike and that could get very very tricky to pull off.

@shaithis45 I'm with you. But, you know, I'd rather be on the road with people who have been smoking pot than have been drinking booze. I'd also rather be around people who are high on pot than people who are drunk. That booze is legal and pot is illegal is one of the great crimes in the country. Total and utter nonsense.

@editdave I lived with a pot smoker for part of 2004 and have actually been out on the with that smoker driving. Nothing bad ever happened. I even smoked pot myself and actually the best one to smoke is the medical grade because believe it or not, you can still think and not be wasted. That smoker was my best friend and that is how he functioned while holding down a job and maintaining his own social life.

@editdave the life events I went through with my best friend taught me to be very tolerant of others around me who smoked pot. Actually in the last town I was in, my next door neighbors smoked pot and they were the coolest bunch I was proud to have known and shared a few barbecues with. I see your point in comparing alcohol to pot, however with pot I only trust very few sources should I choose to smoke it again and it would be for medical reasons.

@editdave I think this is why I'm learning to think beyond the failed two party system in politics and looking for actual candidates that might have smoked pot. I think it would be great to have potheads in DC that are more in touch vs. politicians which just abuse the system. Though we still have idiots in this country that just don't want to get on that same page so it might very well have to start at the state level or really there has to be a national movement.
