  • I left you a comment on the ikea hackers blog with ideas for the front legs & the radiator issue if you're interested.

  • @TheFeldhamster AW! I didn't even realize that was published :) Thank you!

  • So what happens when you turn on the radiator? You're basically heating up the table?

  • @gocsa It's not a very hot radiator... but yeah, I suppose.

  • what if you make a a simple locking mechanism on the underside of the board? :)

  • @OfficialLeviJackson Yeah I thought about that too. Just thinking it needs to be able to support some weight.

  • nice furniture

  • If you need an idea for the stand of your table, I could help you with that... just give me a couple of minutes and I will make a quick draft for a solution and I will send it to you...

  • @The42stDoctor That's actually quite a nice idea you sent over. Will certainly take that into consideration :)

  • Nice table

  • AWSOME Bud

  • clever setup!

  • Looks great!

To keep the table up, I'd get one of those cheap comping table with legs that can fold back in, and use one of those legs for under the table :)

  • @MrTossti Good thinking! :)

  • "16cm was all that I needed"

    That's what she said.

  • swedish are masters of using tight space to the fullest :) ive got a similar solution for my synth/audio room..by the way very cute dog, what breed is he/she?

  • @marillo18 She's a border collie. :)

  • So is the back plinth actually fixed to the wall or does it literally just rest on the radiator?

Great job by the way, perfect fit!

  • @RobotOnLine It's actually not fixed to the wall yet but I did put in brackets underneath it so I can attach it to the wall quite easily. Truth be told it doesn't really need to be attached I think. The top of the drawer unit keeps the plinth from moving forward and so it really has no where to go.

  • Haha I think you got the wrong job :-D You should be furniture designer ^^

By the way I finally found the swedish Steelbook of "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre" sadly without the sticker....but that doesn´t bother me. Thanks anyway for your efforts.

  • i really like the handles of the drawers. doesn't the heat from the radiator mess up the wood when the top of the desk is folded down? you raised the small part that is under the window but the radiator doesnt deliver much heat through the top anyway, but the side gets really hot and thats the direction of the heat when it travels around the room.

  • @stefann1989v2 Well, I only had it for a short while but I don't think it will be a problem. The board also has around 3 cm of space behind it so it's never right up against the radiator. Worst case scenario I'll have to turn the heat down.

  • what version of mad men DVDS were those under the table?

  • @HadjiSimpson It's a pair of swedish collector's editions for season 1 and 2. They didn't release the rest of the series in the same style, just these two.
