  • Haha I own both of these cars. Both are stock except the Rustler VXL is geared 30/76 with an 11.1 volt lipo battery.

  • @cfiore88 nice bro, you said you have a jato and rusty with different gearing and a 11.1v battery, wouldnt the rustler just eat the jato...?

  • @VXLRusty The Rustler does wheelies too easily, even with it geared that high. It also handles like a tank aka. it's handling is shit. The Jato, when tuned correctly, is wicked fast, but the brakes, at least on mine, hardly work at all. Which one would win in a race? They're probably pretty evenly matched from my experience.

  • @cfiore88 It all about control... You can't have a heavy finger. Also you can add weight to the front. Also the vxl is light, it handles nothing like an tank, more like an dirt bike. Also don't forget. To make a vxl to be fast, you need a lipo. That not stock. I do agree about the breaks. I hear you can fix that, but not to sure. Mine stops pretty good, but the jato is heaver. One on one(VXL lipo) I think the vxl will win a drag, but i love them both! XD

  • @HifeMan My Rustler VXL is geared 30/76 with an 11.1 volt lipo battery as stated in an earlier comment. The brakes are fine on my Rustler. I was referring to my Jatos brakes being terrible. I've thought of adding weight to the front. All in all, I love them both as well.

  • Really if you are looking at straight line acceleration electric is the way to go. My friends savage has the same top speed as my Bandit almost exactly and when we raced em head to head the bandit got to top speed thrice as fast. Electric gets instant max torque is probly why

  • I have jato 3.3, Im going to buy VXL bandit soon :)

  • one of my fav videos ! electric ftw !!!!

  • at 3:46 thats how your suppose to drive a jato

  • how do you get it to do wheeles so esaly

  • @John21610 its a 3 cell lipo if you are running the stock nimh in either vxl or xl5 your not going to do wheelies at all......................

  • dude ur rustler is so down!!!

  • nice video, what car do you think is better?

also, how did you get the slow motion in the video?

  • swett vid man what paint mask did you use for the hood on the rustler?

  • i saw walle at 0:15

  • shitty music fuck bag

  • @KileyD321 Bullet for my Valentine is NOT shity music. Grow up.

  • id say in the long run at top speed the jato could keep up to an extent but the rustler rapes it off the line that gives it that major edge.. but thats just my 2 cents

  • ice bro. Props to you and posting this vid in regards to the other sayn the Jato will win every time was just highly inaccurate by far. Great Video and glad that u are not bias to one anouther. The jato is a cool rig for sure. But Elec technology has taken the crown of king away from Nitro. Nitros rain is no more. Brushless FTW

  • @TheABSoLooT1 a brushless on a 6 cell nimh isnt gonna beat a jato. a brushless with a 7-cell or a 2s lipo should though.

    brushless is definitely taking over.

  • that are some sick cars

  • I use to love nitro but when i got an lipo(11.1v) for my rustler i fell in love.

  • Took my jato out and i still love nitro.

  • ELECTRIK ALS DE WAYYYY!

  • love the rustler body

  • Damn nice vid man. Nice cars too. Makes me want to pull my 8 turn rustler out of storage and thrash the yard up a bit. Old technology I know but hey..I had built it with delrin and aluminum gearing plus full ball bearings. I don't even remember all I put on it. Fun stuff.

  • So the rustler looks faster over all. IDK tho im drinking...

  • Comment removed

  • for one if your scared it will break then dont drive it,i broke my car at lease 10 diff time in a week an everyday fixed it not including the 11.1 battery i burnt up but life goes on an you buy a new one an have more fun but if anything a vxl rustler is best car i ever had ,jatos are fun but expensive an dirty while vxl is easy cheap an got more power than u can imagine.

  • what gears to you use in your rustler coz i have one and i have just got an 11.1v

also could you use the 70mph+ setting on grass?

  • @AirsoftCapital I would say NO unless you want to fry your esc or motor. Well You could use them but if you try to strain the motor with big pulls you WILL over heat mine did in about 2 minutes. The motor got so Hot that the plastic motor mount was melting.... Stick to 21/83 for normal bashing mid Gearing.. GL.

  • Is the Jato stock? And, what exactly broke off when the Rustler crashed?

  • @Hionimi Wheelie bar wheel broke off.

  • dont get maxxamps i can blow up and its expensive

  • it have brakes?

  • Nice Rustler! I'll have vids of my bros Jato 3.3 vs my Rustler vxl up soon. Just have to fix my rustler........... hit a mailbox post at *67*mph and broke virtually everything from the front-mid of the car. Luckily the Lipo, and Jaco's are still good lol.

  • WOOT WOOT GO Rustler!

  • Proves nothing!!!! Not that I disagree on the end result but these videos dont prove anything the jato driver might blow balls

  • @darkbong666 Agreed. Not a single wheelie from the Jato, hes driving it like a pussy or hes engine is coming to the end of an abused life.

  • what tires were you using on the rustler

  • @xXRevZTurBoXx Jaco Racing Tires. Google Search

  • how funny would if be if the guy in the background had a boner

  • rustler vxl owns jato 3.3 everytime!!!!!!!! can't wait to get mine and smoke my cousin jato! ;-P

  • i love both nitro and electric, i prefer electric because nitro is getting more expensive. BTW, try putting a weight in the rustlers front, i do that to prevent wheelies, goes a lot faster that way

  • how long you ride with lipo on rustler because i ride for about 3 motnhs with lipo and can drive better i nevver flip over and crash anymore

  • according to my local hobby shop, 10 years ago, they sold 20 to 1 nitro to electric, but the owner says that now, it is like 50 to 1 electric to nitro. personally, i think if you want to go with gas, get a real 2 stroke gasoline largescale, gas is sooooo much cheaper than nitro fuel its not even funny

  • + on electric. I have a Jato and a Rustler. Beginners should use gas and people with experience should use electric. A lot of poeple are not use to the huge amount of torque electric supplies and just spin on the driving surface, lol. I have destroyed so many rims and tires with my rustler it aint even funny, especially if the diff doesn't lock correctly and you end up with a 1 foot inflated tire.

  • @aznrevlazn I agree and disagree. i think an electric is the way for beginners. BUT i do not recommend a brushless setup to start. or at least should be very limeted to half or less power. i remember my electric ruslter XL-5 had soo much more power than any rc i had before the first thing i did was hit the gas and i ran it into a table...

  • @TJonMaxx1 haha :P

yeah you are right, electric is the thing you should start with, and t start to know more things about the hobby. Gas/nitro cars need much more time to ride and u need to use afterburn and other oils.

  • thats a nice video!

  • Electric rules!!

  • My fuel costs me Nothing. Solar panel chages car battery - car battery charges RC battery, You cant do that shit with nitro.

  • what kind of rims and tires on on the rustler vxl

  • @paintball479 They are jaco foam racing tires... got them for my rustler best onroad tires ever...

  • I like nitros!!! more, we could argue all day but its my life ill do what i want

  • @nitroboys25 you need to change your name to electricboys.

  • start them at the same time and have the jato go full power then c who wins

  • @Aquaman7461 the electric EVERY time instant power.

  • nice. ur lucky the rustler didnt get into a nice accident at 1:42

  • MY Fav Song Bra

  • What brushless car could beat a Revo with a big block around a race track???? & how long will it last before the battery goes flat???? Most electric cars would struggle keeping up with a HPI baja (nothing to fast) but would thay last over 45min of run time??? No point having a fast car if it only lasts 10min

  • @phmaximus A 4S LiPo brushless E-Revo would destroy a big-block Revo. Even a Gorilliamaxx Chassis'd brushless E-Maxx with 14 Ni-Mh cells will beat a big-block Revo.

As for the HPI Baja question, if you got a standard brushless E-Revo on a 6S 6000mAh setup, it would make the Baja look like it wasn't moving (truly unbelievable speed and acceleration), and you'd get about 40 minutes runtime if you didn't floor it everywhere.

  • @phmaximus yes there are packs that will give you 45 min of run time and I'm not sure if you know this but they sell extra battery packs, while you're sitting there fueling up and retuning because the wind changed directions I'll have a new pack in and be pulling wheelies past you. I've been in your shoes insisting nitro is better just give it up man the days of nitro owning is over.

  • @2000jeepsahara - Nitro will never die - but its popularity may go way down. I personally own both, and Love both - for DIFFERENT reason's. Mainly In the summer I race at an outdoor track, with a Nitro Buggy, In winter I race indoors with a brushless buggy. Each has its purpose, and I have a ton of fun with each. Electric can never replace the sound and smell of nitro in the morning... It smells like VICTORY ...

  • LOL WOW, a brushless rustler can keep up with a stock 3.3 trx motor. hummm Ive got a few brushless cars that can do that, nothing speical. what brushless motor would u use to beat a JATO or REVO with a big block nitro motor like a Picco 0.28 or something like a lrp z28, etc??? & the best part is the reciver pack lastes for ages & just add fuel... no need for waiting for the motor battery to charge

  • @phmaximus You would use the Mamba 2200Kv Monster setup, perhaps a Neu motor if you needed it. Worst come to it you bring out the Lehner motors, which will not even be in the same league as a nitro engine.

  • @phmaximus who has one battery pack? just swap in a charged one and go atleast we can reuse our fuel.

  • how much are top of the line batteries for rustler vxl?batteries that make it go 70+

  • @nitroboys25 its all personal preference.

  • Very cool video dude ! I like it !

  • @nitroboys25 i guess you didn't read my comment correctly did you? or are you just trying too piss people off?

  • getting the electric!!!!!

  • dude u have to tell me where to get that body

  • I'm stuck, I'm tryign to decide between the Jato 3.3 and The Vxl rustler

The are about the same price up at the local hobbie shop what are some of the pros and cons eitehr truck has over one another?

  • @elp2500HD21 They afre both great cars but go with the rustler because it is electric. if u buy nitro u have to be on top of your game with matinace and even so most nitro motors have to be replaced after a year or a little more. Do some research before you choose.

  • @xXChick3nPok3rXx Thanks for the input, I've been researching my pants off, but the best place to get information is definately someone who owns or has access to both trucks. I've been very set on the Jato 3.3 but now seeing how the VXL system has come this far, it seems like the nitro technology will have to step up its game to keep up. I'm still stuck between the two... great before and after videos post and pre lipo really shows the difference plain as day.

  • @elp2500HD21 Ya. i have the same exact rustler as the one in the video same lipo same tires just mine is more up graded. the lipo definalty changes everything it makes the car twice as fast and lots stronger. lots of people think that nitro are going to be stronger and more agressive but they really arnt at all.

  • why, is everyone have hate towards Nitro? I love them both and i don't talk trash, on which is better, and shit, they are both good in my book, Nitro has its great areas and electric has good good areas too, they both have problems, one can't be better then the other unless there is zero errors with operation.

  • brushless is fast but i love my jato 3.3!

  • Sick body on that rustler m8.

  • rustler vxl kicks jato but big time

  • Damn I like the silver pipe my next upgrade.

  • the jato needs to be tuned and run by somebody who can drive it plus the rustler was running jaco foams which make a huge difference

  • props on the vid dude its sweet

  • @xM80dropedurepock, Thanks!

  • Comment removed

  • yeah it went faster but isnt a stock rustler

  • jao 3.3 is better

  • @2222222278 lol u have no clue what you are stating, the Rustler is way ahead of the jato 3.3 in speed, torque, etc.

  • finnaly someone beets the jato!

  • how good are the jaco's vs the anacondas on weight and durability. and how good do the jaco's grip

  • I'm a new be. but how long do the batteries last?

  • Depends on the battery you choose, Lipo's will last the longest and you'll get top speeds with them!

  • @smoked17 it depends on with battary you have and your way of driving. someone who's driving a circuit will drive longer than someone who only does speed runs. if they got the same car with the same battary of course.

  • just raced my vxl lipo batteried rustler... vs my friends modded jato.. We watched this video before and he was like no way... yeah i raped him... you guys should tone down your throttle so you can wheelie for like 100 feet..

  • witch car went faster?

  • @madmadmadmad0000004 The Rustler! 70+

  • Does anyone suggest anything besides foam tires on the Rusler for pavement use? Just checking....i hate the stock ones!!!!

  • @Sleepy731 anacondas

  • I have A rustler VXl running 2s 5000mah lipo and have a hard time keeing up with the Jato 3.3! Mainly due to handling on turns on pavement. Will add Jaco foams hopefully that will do the trick..It sucks that the batteries are soo damm expensive! cDOST MORE THAN MY REAL CARS BATTERIES! LOL

  • anouing music

  • yeah, sure maybe electric is faster than nitro, but nitro is ssooo much funner (from personal experience). but us nitro guys will be laughing at you electric guys when you have to wait for your battery to charge! NITRO FTW

  • @zipline140 not unless the electric guys have extra batterys while the others charge!

  • love the rustler but i love my jato to

  • cool video great song! cool rc's

  • sick ass rustler and video, the music is bad tho lol

  • The ground eats foams to fast

  • what car stand do you have the rustler sitting on? where did you get it?

  • rustler run to fast!!!

  • Your jato or rustler couldn't catch my

    4-tec 3.3

  • @1501HP dude i would kill yo 4tec wit my rustler

  • @1501HP

no you wouldnt, i have a stampede vxl also and i know they are crazy on 3s but you just cant cant accelerate fast beacuse it will just wheely, the 4-tec is down on all 4 tires ALL the time and it hits 70 in a couple of seconds

  • @1501HP dude anybody could get there rustler vxl to do over 75 mph but not nitro, nitro you can't even come close to what brushless motors are packed with, and a 4...........tec 3.3 may do 70 mph but still a rustler could kill any 4...........tec.

  • man the jatos look ssoooo slick!!!

  • I'm a little afraid to go lipo, I don't wanna crash my rustler vxl going 60mph plus i mostly do off road, 7cell is fine for now, maybe 8 cell later

  • the paint job on that rustler is fucking sick man!

  • You guys crack me up!! I have both cars "Check my channel" and they are both super fast and are completely differant cars, to say one is better than the other or electric is better than Nitro is like school kids on the bus. Nitro and electric are both cool and I reccomend everyone should have both, neither one is cheaper than the other either they both cost an arm and a leg!! Great Video!! I will be racing mine in the next week and I will be sure to post it.

  • yah i had mine a couple of weeks and then wore the tires down i suggest the anaconda street tires

  • @ dhorn92 I can't agree with you anymore! Brushless lipo setups are stupid fast bro. I just converted my rustler xl5 to vxl and wow it's fast!! I just raced my friends 3.3 emaxx and smoked him! The only thing that sucks is the the tires get wasted fast lol!

  • Haha, Wall-E cruising through the background @30 seconds

  • sickest paint jobs i ever seen

  • 1/16 erevo is the best

  • Wow punch you're an idiot. Electric equals instant torque, instant power, there is no wind up like with nitro... sorry but in this day and age Electric will kick Nitros ass everytime, and it's cheaper.

Ask any of the pros, everyone is racing with the brushless lipo setups now.

  • @dhorn92 - You seriously wrong about Electric being cheaper. Do the math - including lipo charger, power supply, lipo batts and initial cost... Compared to a nitro Kit of same caliber - like Rustler brushless vs Jato, or Revo 3.3 vs E-Revo Brushless

  • @sbs9026 I have done the math... I worked in a hobby shop part time for a while, and I've gotten my feet wet in just about every corner of R/C that there is. In the long run electric is cheaper. Fuel is expensive, if you actually do some math and find out how much run time you get for how much money you spend after you've actually played with your stuff for a while you save money with electric.

  • @sbs9026 The buy in cost of electric is more expensive. but you can reuse the the batteries many times so the cost is probably about the same but who buys r/c cars to save money, its all about having as much fun as you can and I do agree with you nitro is alot cooler. But electric is much easier and doesn't annoy the neighbors.

  • @dhorn92 i disagree that it's cheaper, for example a savage flux without li-po's is a lot more than a savage x, and a brushless revo is a lot more than a revo 3.3. Other than that your right

  • @dhorn92 Screw you i hate electric there is no sound and there boring you have to charge it every 3 hours or more nitro put AA batteries and fuel in and your good to go THUMBs UP FOR NITRO

  • @gpmyles i like both. i have tmaxx 3.3. LOVE IT. (im a basher) I also have a ruslter XL-5 and then recently upgraded to sidewinder 4600 castle creations. I wish rustler was 4x4. i love both these things. my 4000 mah 3s lipo only takes an hr to charge. and a tmaxx you can go all day with a bunch of fuel as long as you dont break any parts. the rustler is so light it has never broken on me. tnaxx is very durable but still breaks occasionally

  • @gpmyles You obviously don't have any experience with electric cars, because you're "statistics" are wrong. My lipo batteries charge completely in 20 minutes. I have four of them. Each one gets about 15-20 minutes of run time. I can keep my batteries full and charged faster than I can even run them down. And I never have to buy more fuel, or AA batteries. Not to mention my brushless car will smoke your nitro, doesn't sounds like ass, and doesn't get messy or smelly. THUMBS UP FOR LOGIC

  • @dhorn92 One set of my batteries takes me 1 hour each and lasts about half hour, the other set takes about 1 and a half hours and lasts about 40 mins. Thats 5 hours charging for just over an hour runtime...

  • @ben150785 Then buy better batteries, buy a better charger, or learn how to charge them faster. If you are still running the cheap Traxxas batteries that came with the car don't complain. But if you buy some decent lipos (like I have) you can charge them easy in 15-20 minutes with a decent charger. I have the hyperion 606i and it was the best $130 I ever spent on R/C.

  • @dhorn92 My car isnt a Traxxas. I run 22.2v hence "set of batteries".

I charge at 4A as ive been told thats the best charge rate for a decent lipo life.

  • @ben150785 Sorry, I made an assumption because the video is traxxas. Anyways, find the C rating on your battery. Not the discharge rate, there is another C rating. Mine is 6C, meaning I can charge up to 6 times the normal matching amperage. For example, my batteries are 2200mah, so you would normally charge 2.2 amps. That's 1C. Since mine are 6C, I can charge up to 13.2amps. Obviously with that much more amperage they charge significantly faster.

  • @dhorn92 All my batteries charge at a max of 5c. I have 2x Turnigy 5000mah 40c and 2x Overlander 3900mah 25c

I thought the faster you charged them you shortened the life of the battery?

  • @ben150785 No, they are designed for that. It's not going to hurt them to be charged faster. Especially on those bigger batteries. Crank up the amperage!!! Trust me, you'll love having more battery run time than you can even run out.

  • Very nice vid!!

  • Cardnox are u fucked up electric is better than nitro yeah right never electric sucks u run it for ten minutes and then wait 2 hours nitro 20 minutes of run time one minute to cool down then runnin again so no electric is not better sorry to bust ur bubble

  • yes punch800a2. i agree with you 100% electrics are way better than nitros. right. u just love electrics. u would rather have an electric over nitros anyday wouldn't you. yesh u absolutely LOVE electrics and despite/hate nitros so much that you want to punch urself.

  • @Punch800a2 you are right it does take 2 hours to charge a lipo. to fix the problem with waiting for the battery to recharge is you get more then one battery a have 4 of them and i run all day just charge while your running the others. now they are not cheap but neither is nitro fuel

  • @randy135zx it dont take no 2 hours to charge no lipo probably cuz u got the cheap ass charger

  • @Punch800a2 you are right it does take 2 hours to charge a lipo. to fix the problem with waiting for the battery to recharge is you get more then one battery a have 4 of them and i run all day just charge while your running the others. now they are not cheap but neither is nitro fuel

  • If ur jato is late on launch change the servo that works the carb. I had to do that to mine jatos are not lazy at launch. U need a servo get a heavy duty servo then you will see the difference.

  • That video kicks ass!!!!. I have a jato 3.3 it can't be beat. By friend has a traxxas rustler he said he can smoke me when we took off the started off with a wheelie I let off the to bring the front end down hit the gas again the jato ate the rustler and shit out parts ha ha he couldn't believe it don't fuck with the jato I'll put my jato up to anything my jato is fast. Cool video. A+

  • lol that wasn't too close i love driving my car fast beside me. got a rusty vxl with 3s too

  • why do nitros have the shocks in the back part of the rear a4rm and electric dont?

  • i think it has to do with where the transmission is

  • @kabe628 because nitro cars and trucks have their engines in the center part of the car while some electric cars have their motors far back. So they need room back there for the motor, and the suspension would be in the way on the rustler vxl if it was as far back as the jato 3.3.

  • I was wondering what type of tires are you using and do you have to gear the Rustler if you use LiPo? Thanks!

  • jato always late on launch

  • wat tires do u have on teh rustler?

  • rustler rules

  • Why do people use really annoying music...I like ambient.....doesnt anyone appreciate the natural sounds of stuff anymore?

  • I have to agree!, sound on the RC cars is just part of the fun electric or nitro!

  • Why are you running a single chamber pipe.. U need to breathe for runs like that

  • 2:10 rocks!

  • What is your gearing set-up?

  • Depends what charger you are using. I have the Cavalier EQ and it chargers a 7 cell in 35 min, and a 3s Lipo under about 45 min. It's pretty convenient.

  • electric has always been faster, if someone found a way to recharge batteries in 1 min and last up to 10 min of run nitro/gasoline rcs will be wiped out in a year lol but sucks that takes a few hours to charge and get 10-20min of run on lipo

  • great vid and awsome music!

  • me and my buddy just bought the rustler vxl. got the pinion and spur and jato tires. just need to get the lipo and ready to go.

  • is there any part that commonly breaks on the rustler?

  • awsome video-music love BFMV I have a jato looks like a couple bend tierods in this vid.

Helpful tip- you can take out the bent tierods heat em up with a blow torch and bend em back strait

  • Electric R/c has closed the gap . The electrics cars instant low end torque gives him the holeshot everytime.

  • Closed thee gap? Electric is (way) ahead of gasoline / nitro.
