A true artist doesn't just stick with one genre of music and expects to grow musically. THAT would be wack and super cheesy.
Critics always praise Ciara for expanding and getting out of her comfort zone. "Goodies", "Like A Boy", "Promise" and "Love Sex Magic" sound so different from each other but they're from the same artist. That's a true artist.
Now comprehend that and reply with something intelligent or don't reply at all. Have a nice day.

1st, U kinda of don't make much sense. and 2nd Ciara IS A POP/R&B artist! Look it up anywhere or any song she's featured on. It's always stated as "ciara, a multi-platinum pop/r&b artist blah blah". So whats ur issue?

Ciara does the same kind of music as Janet. They are Pop/r&b artists. Some songs are pop and others are r&b. They serve both mainstreem and urban audiences. Crunk isn't a genre of music-- it's something lil jon came up with. it was HIS sound.
And if u say so that she's crunk or whatever, then what's wrong with her branching out and doing some pop music like this song? It's not cheesy, it's just different, in a good way.

One.....Janet Jacksons music is far different from Ciara's! When Janet did the 20 y.o Album...i would say it was similar to Ciara's kind of music.
But Janet Jackson as an artist is R&B Pop/Rock. Her Last album was Dance-Pop, Electro-pop with R&B touch.
So Naa! Ciara is just R&B, Not really any pop inspired songs in her category.
I never siad it was anything wrong with branching out! Thats great! But if it doesnt fit you, it doesnt fit you!
