Brings me back to my teens as well. I never had the opportunity to see Mastedon in concert but I do miss the christian rock of the 80's and 90's, it's so much better than the rock we have today.
Been a big fan on John since he joined Kansas. He gained alot of weight since his kansas days. Also I think he is lip synching, you can see a minute into the song, he is missing!!!
For those who have the Video Stampede. Could anyone tell me the name of the song played while Dino is speakin after the videoclip of the song by Richie Furay? And also the song which sounds while John presents the song by Halo. Those two songs sound like Mastedon, but I've got the two albums of the band and those two songs are not included. Hope you can help me, those songs sound pretty cool!!! Thanks!!!!
P.S. The chorus of one of them says something like "it's your own decision".
I believe the song is called "It's Your Decision" and it is by Halo from their first S/T album. I have both cd's by Halo and I pretty sure that's the song you are referring to. i hope this helps.
I was there too. One of the best concerts I've ever seen. I remember they closed with "Fire with Fire" (Kansas). I remember the drummer from Whiteheart standing on his drums and taking a picture of the crowd. There were something like 10,000 people there that night. Great night!
I was there too! I can be seen at 3:35. I remember Whiteheart playing next. A lot of people left durring their set, not because they were bad, Mastedon was just impossible to follow that night!
Yeah, I was there too. You can see a few of my friends in the opening shot of this video. Whiteheart came after Mastedon that night. It was one great memorable night of music!

This video was taken from an old video tape, that's why the audio appears out of sync.

So shocking to see John with a mullet and spandex. And what's up with that hand wave?
Still one of the greatest vocalists of all time in my book.
