Peter Shiff is RIGHT ON THE MONEY!!! He and Gerald Celente are two of the few I listen to anymore. While the Obama Administration is busy trying to bankrupt our once great country, Peter and Gerald are doing their homework and trying to warn the rest of us. I guess, in the end, all we can really do is prepare our families and pray. Pray that the Lord FINALLY avenges those that have sought to destroy our nation.

Life in this country is changing on a daily basis, and very few seem to get it. I am an expat living abroad and I don't know what Peter is talking about. I have no banking problems.

However, relative to Europe and the rest of the developed world, America's tax policies towards expats are retarded. Most countries (tax) favor sending their citizens abroad to further the economic interests of their businesses. Not America. The Dumbocrats rammed through onerous tax treatment for expats to make sure that the government got their FAIR share of the benefit packages.

He was talking about a specific issue with Swiss banks. You won't notice unless you have a swiss account as the rest of Europe already give the US any data they ask for. Swiss banks are telling their US customers to take their money elsewhere.

I'm also an Expat and have always tried to keep an eye on these issues. Current trends in the US scare the hell out of me. If they ever force me to chose between Europe and the US, I'm sad to say that despite my love for my homeland I'd pick Europe.

Not true. He started by referring to Swiss bank accounts, but he went much further and said "banks all around the world don't want to deal with Americans" and that expats were having problems even getting an American account.

How could they tax you and what are they taxing? Makes no sense.. There are laws against double taxing. The fact they would tax you after you left is unconstitutional. Sounds much more like Nazi Germany in 1933 to me.

It is also uncontitutional to bailout private financial instituions, such as Citi, Aig and Bofa. It is also unconstitutional to tax 100%, which we did to AIG executives recieving bailout money. Since we are doing so much unconstitutional stuff, who is to say this is unconstitutional and will not happen.

It just gives me a warm fuzzy feeling that our government would look at us as in such a way as to only regard our value in terms of our ability to finance their rampant spending habits.
