It's ok, except those palaces that reveals megalomania and remind you about many little nations robbed by austrians and germans for many centuries, just for these kitchy faraonic buildings.

It's an old "culture, indeed, based on war, exploitation, assassinations, tortures and so many other horrible things.

All mankind had to fight to defeat this monster with huge sacrifices.

This place it's visited by tourists and they find it "romantic".

This place should be visited like you visit Auschwitz.

Except in Austria, where GENERALLY people are racists. They are the rule rather than exceptions. That's what I've found. Of course, there are nice people there too, but those are (usually) Serbians, Croatians, or Turks. Sorry, that's the experience I've made.

Salzburg ist meiner Meinung nach viel schöner als Wien. Rein kulturell gesehen ist Wien schon schön, vorallem der 1. Bezirk . Aber sonst ist Wien einfach nur unschön und dreckig... Vorallem die Wiener selbst habe ich in größtenteils schlechter Erfahrung. Meine Eindrücke reichen von unverschämt, arrogant, ignorant bis zur Unfreundlichkeit (nicht alle! aber viele). Habe öfters in Wien zu tun und generalisiere nicht nur einmalige Eindrücke. PS: bin auch Österreicher

Ich bin Wiener und gebe Dir grundsätzlich recht, dass Wien, wie auch viele andere Großstädte, seine Schattenseiten hat. Die Menschen mögen hier etwas distanzierter sein, jedoch unverschämt und arrogant als Grundeinstellung lasse ich nicht gelten. Des Weiteren habe ich schon so einige Provinzler getroffen, auf die Deine Eigenschaften bestens zutreffen. Studenten (und andere) die nach Wien kommen, obwohl in Wien eh alles oasch ist. man kann wien und berlin nicht miteinander vergleichen weil das eigentlich 2 verschiedene städte sind. in wien sind die historischen gebäude eben wichtiger. wien hat ebenfalls viele gedenkstätten, das nachtleben in wien ist einfach toll, sonnen können wir uns auch an der donau und shoppen können wir nicht nur in der mariahilfer straße, sondern fast überall! aber ich sag jetzt nicht, dass berlin nichts besonderes ist, aber ich habe nie wirklich viel interessantes von berlin gehört und von daher..

Immer diese Streitereien (wenn auch oft nicht ernst gemeint) zwischen den Österreichern und den Deutschen. Ist doch egal, wo wer was schöner hat. Wir sind alle Europäer und sollten zusammenhalten. Nur so können wir den anderen Weltmächten entgegentreten.

Warum ist der Stephansdom eigentlich auf jedem Foto eine Baustelle? Dabei ist das doch so ein schönes Bauwerk *seufz*. Egal! Wien ist trotzdem 'ne tolle Stadt, auch wenn es bei weitem nicht mit Berlin mithalten kann (aber das kann ja keine Stadt)!

at the minute 02:41 you see a memorial from the red army, which was built after the second world war. On the top there you see a soldier of the red army with his PPSh-41 Submachine Gun in front of his body. he leans against a golden shield. the reason is: otherwise the statue whould fall down. It is austria not allowed to remove this memorial. the memorial itself is on the "schwarzenbergplatz" where you can find many cosulates, for example the french consulate.
