Puppy Linux 5 rocks! It has almost all the programs a typical Ubuntu user would want: Chromium (Chrome), Firefox, Opera, OpenOffice, GIMP, Thunderbird, Cinelerra, WINE, and more. I even got VLC Player as a .Pet file from the Puppy Linux forums. I also run Photoshop 7 in WINE.
Puppy Linux is faster because it's only 128 MB that runs directly from RAM!

Now I just need to figure out how to make it work with other things like AVI files and figure out how to get on line and is there a way to run any windows based programs on it? I have two Vaio's and one of them it would seem has a monitor problem. probably not worth messing with.
But I love the way it works on the one that is in good shape!

Try it...it might work. The newer versions of linux probably won't work, but try simpler versions of linux like PuppyLInux.

You can (in theory) install Linux on all computers! Just make sure your computer has the recommended specs.
