  • @quantumbits uranium is reactive...... That's what the glass is made out of... That's why it's reactive

  • nice counter - it has the "CD" sign, really cool :-)

  • Ok I don't get it. Why is the glass radio active. Was it made with uranium in the 1940'? Why?

  • @quantumbits Uranium has been used for an incredibly long time to dye glass.

  • I'd imagine it is just Alpha decay which is pretty much harmless. You can block alpha particles with a piece of paper and they won't penetrate your skin.

  • After seeing this video I'll have to check my mother's depression glass.

  • I'd imagine if you get radioactive cookies =)

  • Hello , the geo 210 cost about 100 USD , I find it on eBay USA , the seller is geoelectronics . The Geo 210 is only the pancake prob , the Geiger counter is a " Leni " sold by the same seller .

Thank you very much , Fred .

  • Hi , the counter is a CD V-700 Leni ( Eni modified by Geoeclectronics , bought on Ebay USA ) the probe is a GEO-210 .Look at my others videos .Thanks , Fred .

  • Looks older than 1940's, is that lid zinc?

  • And here I was, thinking the glass was self-shielding :).

Got a clue what the model of the meter and/or probe is?
